Osteria D' Assisi Ratings and Reviews
Excellent wine...Cosmos were done perfectly and pink not red!! Anti-pasta for two was really for 3-freshly done and nice variety! Chicken Parmesan was amazing huge and lightly breaded with just amount of sauce and pasta! Eggplant Parm was HUGE and also done perfectly! Between the two we took half home! Even better the next day! Our guest had the Pasta with sausage and she just loved it. This is truly an amazing restaurant. Our server was good, but after the meals -hard to be scene until the check was delivered.
They offered an amazing Italian Week Dinner Menu for $39 which looked delicious and a lot of food, but we decided to stay with our favorites!!!
This restaurant was excellent on many levels. The food was fantastic. We had a caprese salad with a huge piece of fresh mozzarella, tomato basil soup , and pumpkin ravioli with a fresh tomato sauce. They were all outstanding as were the hazelnut mousse and lemon torte. The service was excellent by the owner himself and an extra treat was the piano bar where we ate our dessert. The piano player, David Geist was terrific. Overall a wonder evening. We will definitely return.
We had a lovely quite table upstairs - away from the noise and it was so peaceful and quiet and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and were able to talk to each other without shouting. It really was wonderful.
My husband had the fusilli pasta with shrimp which was quite good- I had the Branzino and it was also good, but didn't enjoy the sauce as much as I thought I would. Hate to say the mashed potatoes were a bit dry but the veggies were sauteed nicely.
I️ have loved Osteria for years, but my last two visits there have been marred by the piano bar. The restaurant is not large, so the dining rooms and piano bar are not really separated. The last time, the man at the piano insisted on singing although he was not really a singer. And he kept injecting himself into our table conversation. Last night, the musician was fine (no singing) but loved to play annoying songs (Bicycle Built for Two, We’re Off to See the Wizard) at a frantic and earsplittingly loud level. Conversation became a shout. I’m afraid I️ will have to avoid Osteria in the future due to this new addition. Please bring back our elegant restaurant!
We had a delicious dinner celebrating a birthday. I had osso bocco and my daughter had branzino, both dishes were excellent. My husband had a pasta dish and the other friend had a steak. Both of them really enjoyed their meal. This was an excellent choice. We will go again.
We had the most amazing anniversary celebration at Osteria!! As we were seated we were given a complimentary sparkling wine with compliments. Our server, Jenn, was bubbly, informative and efficient. We really enjoyed her happy attitude! The food was delicious, nicely presented and well priced. To start we shared a calamari plate - it was a large portion of perfectly cooked calamari, tender and fried to perfection, yet not at all oily, served with two sauces. For entree my husband had the evening's 'special', veal marsala and I had the seafood carbonara pasta, which was so full of seafood. The Tiramisu - fantastically light, yet creamy and rich. Michael Umphrey's entertainment was perfect . . his voice is rich and deep with great sing along tunes. So much so, that a couple of diners joined him. (Thanks Andie - she had a wonderful voice that blended beautifully with Michael's). It was a fun and lively atmosphere, yet also cozy and intimate. We had the BEST time - a perfect evening!!
We had a wonderful creative meal. Both of us ordered from the specials and loved our entrees. I was especially impressed with the pumpkin, beet sauce on my four cheese ravioli. It was so fresh and delicious. My husband was equally impressed with his veal Saltimboca. We’ve never been disappointed in Osteria D’Assisi!
We were personally met by the owner and taken care of with attention to detail to make our dinner a wonderful experience. The owner was from Lake Como, Italy one of our favorite places.
He suggested a bottle of white wine of his personal choice and it complemented the salmon and tiger shrimp with pasta perfectly. The restaurant was charming and comfortable. The evening was lovely.
We have been here for lunch a few times but this was the first for dinner. Bronzini putanesca in parchment; tiger shrimp with pasta. Both specials and both excellent. Service was professional, friendly. Tables nicely spaced. It was my birthday celebration and I was treated best tiramisu!
My wife and I had dinner here and thought it was very good.
I had chicken parm, and except for not being served as hot as I like, it was very good - and the pasta was al dente as requested.
My wife had the linguini with clams and salmon which she also enjoyed - again pasta perfectly al dente - but could have been served hotter.
Our server was very attentive and personable.
Our first table was next to a very loud piano player where conversation was impossible. They moved us upstairs which was far quieter. Service was good but they did bring us another table's entrees by mistake. The Caesar salad was exceptional...homemade dressing and croutons. My breaded shrimp were soggy, the angel hair pasta was tasty. The sea bass was great as was the tiramisu. The bread delivered before the meal was below average.
Meal was excellent - Branzino and carbonara del mare entrees and the prosciutto and fig appetizer special.
Decor was nice, although one party faced service area and there were no pictures/decoration on adjacent wall.
Music was very good - a little loud at times, but overall excellent.
Definitely a repeat visit next time in Santa Fe!
