Osteria D' Assisi Ratings and Reviews
It was New Year's Eve and they accommodated us with table of 8. We were the reason noise level a little high. The ambiance was great, the food was great and our waiter was the best. Our friend had been there and had this waiter so she requested him, Italian man, New his stuff and very accommodating.
After two previous bad experiences in the raucous piano bar, I requested an upstairs table. What a change! It was quiet and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The food was excellent-everything from osso buck to our favorite pastas. So nice to get our favorite Italian place back—please get rid of the terrible piano players.
We dined with them for Christmas Eve . The person that checked us in was dismissive and seemed distracted. We were seated at a table that had a heat vent blowing the table skirt, and very warm. We asked to move before any service began. The room we were in only had one other busy table, but we were told the tables we wanted to move to were reserved. Found that strange since we had a reservation and no other diners showed up the entire time we were there. Our server was great. The food was ok but not compelling. We found so many great places in Santa Fe, this one is not on our list to return to.
As always, the ambiance is very good, service is very attentive, friendly, warm, patient and always accurate. Service from May was exceptionally great; she is very polite, accommodating, great listener, answers all the questions, knows the menu and especially the daily specials very well and patiently answers all questions from the restaurant guests. Her pleasantness is fantastic, she relaxes the guests and makes them feel at home. May is an asset to the establishment.
We alway enjoy our experience at Osteria. We usually have a table in the front room (which we prefer). However, it was a Friday night, things were busy so they put us in the piano lounge. We were not too happy. Much to our delight, the piano player was terrific and we completely enjoyed our evening. As usual, the food was wonderful.
Our hotel had recommended the restaurant for Thanksgiving (our first time in the US for this holiday) and we enjoyed the full turkey experience (slightly US-Italian style); a bottle of Gruet (New Mexico's sparking wine choice!) helped us enjoy a very nice meal.
This was one of the best meals ever!! It was a Thanksgiving meal with the most amazing offerings. Enough of the usual flavors with a twist. Staff was so professional and prepared. Just a beautiful day. We eat here from time to time but this was amazing! We are still talking about it. Thanks for a wonderful experience. Can't wait to return.
We had Thanksgivimg dinner there for the second year. The food is delicious! Ambience is relaxed and pleasant, staff are attentive and helpful, and the wine selection is excellent. We both had salmon with lemon risotto - mouth watering. For starters, I had salad & my husband had squash bisque. Both excellent. Desserts were light, rich and not to be missed. We love this restaurant for special occasions. It is a bit too pricey for our budget for everyday dinners.
Osteria is an amazing Italian restaurant. The antipasto for two was to die for! Fresh cuts of meats and cheese with artichokes-prefect with our wine. CAPPELLINI RUSTICA Homemade pasta with vegetables Rustico was done to perfection. My husband totally enjoyed is dinner of PORCHETTA DI CINGHIALE (Boar) filled with delightful stuffing of veal, beef and vegetables with a light sauce on top.
Excellent wine...Cosmos were done perfectly and pink not red!! Anti-pasta for two was really for 3-freshly done and nice variety! Chicken Parmesan was amazing huge and lightly breaded with just amount of sauce and pasta! Eggplant Parm was HUGE and also done perfectly! Between the two we took half home! Even better the next day! Our guest had the Pasta with sausage and she just loved it. This is truly an amazing restaurant. Our server was good, but after the meals -hard to be scene until the check was delivered.
They offered an amazing Italian Week Dinner Menu for $39 which looked delicious and a lot of food, but we decided to stay with our favorites!!!
This restaurant was excellent on many levels. The food was fantastic. We had a caprese salad with a huge piece of fresh mozzarella, tomato basil soup , and pumpkin ravioli with a fresh tomato sauce. They were all outstanding as were the hazelnut mousse and lemon torte. The service was excellent by the owner himself and an extra treat was the piano bar where we ate our dessert. The piano player, David Geist was terrific. Overall a wonder evening. We will definitely return.
We had a lovely quite table upstairs - away from the noise and it was so peaceful and quiet and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and were able to talk to each other without shouting. It really was wonderful.
My husband had the fusilli pasta with shrimp which was quite good- I had the Branzino and it was also good, but didn't enjoy the sauce as much as I thought I would. Hate to say the mashed potatoes were a bit dry but the veggies were sauteed nicely.
