Osteria Cucina Rustica
We begin with the freshest ingredients of the highest quality all prepared to order using family recipes passed down from generation to generation. The astronomic experience begins with the hospitality from the moment you walk through the iron forged doors. Next is the food where the love is present in each dish. The house made pasta to the freshest seafood to the dry aged steaks and our unique deserts made daily by our pastry chef make our uniqueness discernible.
The Bongiovanni and Botta families welcome you to Osteria, where we promise that you will come as a guest and leave as family.
I was on a date; and while I appreciate service, the waiter was all over us. And we had trouble understand him between his accent (our issue) and the background noise (the restaurant's problem).
The food was good, but not extraordinary; and I've spent less in NYC for a meal. for the prices charged I expected extraordinary.
I went to Osteria Cucina Rustica with my husband and daughter. We ordered the chopped salad and meatballs as appetizers and both were delicious. I had the veal milanese with arugula salad which was very tasty. My daughter had the pacheri with meat sauce, also excellent and my husband had the chicken which he highly enjoyed. The cannoli dessert was great. The cannoli shell was crisp and the filling scrumptious!
Food was amazing, our waiter Mike was great, everyone was! Will definitely be back.
Fantastic food, fantastic service! I would highly recommend it to anyone. Portions were very generous and the quality was excellent. The owner stopped by our table is make sure everything was OK.
This is one of our favorite restaurants without a doubt.
Osteria is a gorgeous restaurant but, there are some downfalls. 1. It was extremely noisy on a Monday night. 2. My fiancé & I kept getting some weird looks from the waiters that made me feel uncomfortable. On top of that other tables seemed to be checked on more frequently then we were. 3. The food is way overpriced.
We will not be returning.
Food was excellent as usual. Our service was superb thanks to our favorite server Julio!
Outstanding food and service. We had a phenomenally good meal at Osteria. We shared the broccoli de rabbe with pinwheel sausage that was outstanding. For our mains we had the prime rib special, and received the end cut as ordered, a great cut of prime. Also had the double cut veal chop milinese that was probably the best veal chop I ever had. It was not only huge but delicious, I had enough for a second meal. The pignoli ice cream sandwiches were a great ending to a wonderful dining experience
, I will be back soon.
As always - great food and service. Doug was excellent and his dinner suggestions/descriptions were great. If you could only figure out a way to deaden the sound as it bounces off the concrete walls and ceilings it would be a bit more mellow.
Best Italian cuisine in NJ. Expensive but worth every penny.
We really enjoyed our dinner. There was three of us. My husband enjoyed the pork chop w peppers. I enjoyed the salmon.
The steak was horrible, over cooked and dry. Apps we good.
I thought they had more food choices but everything was good.
Excellent food and service in a "to be seen" fun and gargarus environment. Grilled octopus was perfectly cooked and interplayed well with sause, mashed potato was a nice compliment. Carpaccio was refreshing in taste and style foregoing the traditional capers for a delicate onion and seasoning. Double cut veal chop was a beautiful dish, meat quality and cooking temp were perfection, flavorful and juicy. Filet was equally impressive and savory.
Server was really outstanding in knowledge, attention to detail, and service.
This is a great place for foodies to go who want a deeply satisfying meal at a good value in a lively environment. It is no wonder that they are expanding.
Always great service and food is good as well. Always have leftovers too for the next night! Does not seem like it’s a restaurant in a parking lot like a Friday’s!
Mike our waiter was fantastic! Helpful, great suggestions and extremely polite and courteous! Made the dinner all the more special!
Good for romance. Food is always delicious. Good price for portions. Great bar drinks.
Loved the food and our wait staff was so attentive and helpful!
Food was very good but my waiter was extremely rude
Very good food, Burt our waiter was excellent personable quick attentive. Restaurant is very nice and cozy, but the noise level is a little too much
We love osteria, the service is always incredible and matches the quality and taste of the food. If you haven’t been Sunday’s you have to go, Sunday Sauce is not to be missed!
The food is always good and this time around 3 people ordered the Sunday gravy special. They all loved it. I ordered a special and it was good, but for the price, it should have had more pieces of lobster. This place has so many items on the special menu that they really should consider printing them out. No one wants to keep asking the waiter to repeat them and by the time they are done you’ve forgotten half of them! Also, the bus boys need to be more alert. Our waiter had to clear our table even though the bus boys walked by multiple times.
Food is always good at Osteria. The acoustics can be better, you can hear everyone's conversation at the surrounding tables.
The service was off that night. I had to keep looking for my waiter, he did not approach my table enough. I have 8 guests for a birthday dinner. It was very busy I guess!
Best restaurant in nj
Excellent service, food and ambiance! Will definitely be back.
Food always great. The veal parm is my favorite
Great experience!! Our waiter Julio is the best
Great food, great place and great people!
A little too loud for conversation. Busy place...I would return.
First visit. Help was well trained, knowledgeable about food preparation, menu specials and wonderful recommendations. Food was prepared correctly, served nice and hot and was plentiful. It was a pleasant surprise and we will certainly visit again.
Excellent food Terrific service
Had my December 2018 Birthday dinner here and it was wonderful! We weren’t rushed and the service was excellent. Because it was Sunday the Sunday sauce was available but the specials were so tempting we decided on the following: Appetizers - Frisée Salad with Apple slices, walnuts, herb dressing and 2 cheese slices and the Chevalatta sausage wheel section over broccoli rabe and mozzarella, both to die for. Our Wine - a Flowers Pinot Noir recommended by our waiter Frank and it was the best! Mains - Swordfish Chop on the bone, it was huge, at least 4” thick and delicious, on the side was a sauté of cannelloni beans and the Veal Parmigiana on the bone pounded flat, delicious also, and a side of escarole and beans instead of pasta. Desserts- Homemade pignoli nut cookies stuffed with Pistachio and Vanilla ice cream and a Pistachio Tartufo, presented with a flaming sparkle torch accompanied by a Birthday song serenade from practically the whole staff and the other diners in the restaurant, so memorable! Dining here is like being with family and not wanting to leave when it is over. Thank you sooo much Nellie, Frank, Deidre and everyone at Osteria who was there to make our experience so special.
Chose the restaurant based on the Open Table rating. We were seated near the bar area and the noise was deafening. Our waiter was pleasant enough, but the servers clearly became agitated and confused delivering the food to the table. Food was decent, although pricey. Overall, very disappointing.
We enjoy coming here. Food is great- had a wonderful filet mignon the other evening. Feel however a menu update is needed- it has been awhile- a robust bean based soup would be a great addition as a suggestion.
We were seated in a little room behind bar. There were just 3 tables and it was quiet and lovely. Our waiter was Michael who was outstanding. Some of the food had too much sauce but I all, very tastey.
Amazing waiter excellent food. Love this place so much.
First time here and it was an amazing experience!!!! The service was impeccable!!!!! The restaurant is beautiful, clean, and the food was amazing!!!!!! Definitely coming back soon!
The food and service never disappoints. Always outstanding, our waiter was friendly and our coffee cups were always refilled without asking! Not hovering but attentive.
Beautiful lunch for Christmas celebration with our co-workers!
Went to celebrate a special birthday. Our server was nice , but something was just off. 2 appetizers came during the main courses and 2 main dishes showed up 10 minutes after every other main dish arrived. One of the late dishes was overly salted- the dish seemed rushed to get out and the sauce was not checked. We had a 2 year old child with us and the server placed the hot melted butter for another dish directly in front of her. Decaf cappuccino was very weak. Everything was off and careless. Have eaten there before and expected better.
The food was very over priced for its' taste and offerings. The Fra Diavolo sauce was more of a meat sauce which was very heavy for gnocchi and lobster. A friend had Shrimp which was overcooked and dry.
