Excellent food and service, would definitely come back
Disappointing first visit to restaurant. Despite an advance request for two glasses of champagne at our table, none was there or offered. Food was prepared as requested but was served warm, not hot. In fact, when we returned our appetizer to be warmed up, it came back the same lukewarm temperature. Servers were enthusiastic but overworked -- possibly due to an adjacent wedding reception.
First off I couldn’t find the place and tried calling and calling and calling but no one was answering phones. Once I was able to find it. I was at the hostess station for 15/20 mins waiting on someone to at least check me in a while. Bartender from far said she’ll be “right there soon.” Never did come out to greet us. So once I was about to just leave. The hostess finally came out and checked us in. There was a wedding party happening which probably made it even a slower service but being a more upscale restaurant you would think they knew they had a wedding party to also service that night and would have enough on staff to help out so the people who did made reservations could have a good experience especially how it was my first time there. The drinks were good and the food was delicious. The steaks weren’t cooked as we would like it but we were so ready to leave that we just ate it as is and just paid and left.
I have dined at restaurants all over the world and consider myself a foodie. I don't mind paying well for an fabulous dining experience, however, I felt Osteria Avanti was overrated. The food was just good and the restaurant lacked in ambiance. Definitely overpriced in my opinion for the overall experience. I will not be going back again. There are better quality restaurants in the area with better ambiance.
A true “Fine Dining” experience! Every bite of food revealed different tastes. The staff made our dinner a very pleasant experience. So good, that we had to come back on the following night. Thank you chef and wait staff.
The food was absolutely delicious- the best part of the experience. The staff was very friendly, however I felt as though we did not see much of our waiter. We saw more of the host/manager than the waiter, and it took a significant amount of time to receive our check. Finally, the dessert we ordered was no longer available. However, because of this the waiter covered our drinks. All in all, I would return.
Really excellent meal… The staff was extremely kind and helpful. The food presentation was top line. And the food itself was delicious. Highly recommend it
The manager, Hunter, was MOST helpful and friendly and our server, Julia, was attentive to our needs and also personable. However, the taste appeal for our entrees was lacking--my steak tips were VERY "chewy" and the risotto (if I had known what it was) was a dampener to the overall appeal of my entree. My friend's steak was also tasteless and not done to his request (medium rare), thus it was also too chewy.
Service and ambience were DELIGHTFUL; just disappointed in the food. Will probably make a return trip but not in the near future.
First visit. All of us were very pleased
to discover this experience.
This place was amazing! The food, service and atmosphere were nothing short of perfect!
Highly recommend we ate there 2 x and we stayed at the village just an awesome 3 day get away The food is just amazing and the drinks and wine list are nothing short of a Forbes rated Reastauant as it is if in Lancaster it's a must do divining experience 5 star for sure thanks great staff awesome bartender and Hunter is the man !
Overall, a wonderful dining experience. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Reservations are recommended because the restaurant is small. The decor is very tasteful. We shared the arancini to start and had the wagyu with roasted vegetables and chicken with gorgonzola cream sauce for entrees. Both were very tasty and cooked well. We could have gone with the filet instead of the wagyu, which had a lack of marbling but was still very well-prepared.
The roasted vegetables really stood out. The gorgonzola cream sauce is not to miss!
We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant. Service was spot on, the entrees prepared exactly how we requested them; would definitely recommend Osteria Avanti to anyone in the area. The Inn of Leola exceeded our expectations; having a first class restaurant at the facility was a major bonus.
Booked a reservation for our 10 year anniversary. Time was 8:30 for the reservation and the restaurant closes at 9. Not sure if it is possible to have drinks, appetizers, meal and desert within 30 minutes. We felt rushed throughout meal. Asked to pick out our desert to go before
we had our meal served. They probably either should stay open later or have last reservation one hour before closing and not 30 minutes. Food was amazing but to spend all this money for a rushed meal was disappointing.
Service was great. Portions were large. Cocktails were good. The food was way overpriced given the quality and attention to detail .
The restaurant was not very busy, we guessed because they are attached to an inn, and there is construction on the road in front so not much foot traffic. The server was quite pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu and recommendations, the room was a bit chilly but not overly uncomfortable, there were a few people at the bar, but the noise level was moderate. Overall we had a very pleasant experience. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys quality food. If we are in the area again, we will certainly try it again.
The food was exceptional, prepared perfectly. We had the mussels for appetizer (shared by two), pork chop and wagyu beef entrees, and we shared creme brûlée for dessert. Also, excellent cocktails- martini and Manhattan. Highly recommended.
Awesome experience wonderful food! We had dinner for 2 is part of a package from the hotel. Will be back again.
We were seated at 7:15 PM and despite multiple requests for water, it did not arrive until after 8:00 PM. We were told they were trying to find bread for us, and later when our dinner arrived we were told they were out of bread. The riceballs were tasty, but there was some confusion and they were delivered to our table twice, and refused the second time since were were waiting on dinner. Linguine and meatballs was tasty and presented beautifully. Husband said his steak was tough and chewy. We were hoping to stay and have some cocktails, but after over two hours, we wanted to get back to our room. I really wanted this to be a great experience, however, we were sadly disappointed. Hoping it was just an off night and may try again during a peak time. The room was nice and comfortable.
Wonderful place and our waitress Aviana was very nice. Food and dessert were top notch.
The food never disappoints. The atmosphere is lovely. Hunter’s service for my friends and I was terrific! He was warm, friendly, welcoming, attentive .
Had a great dinner here last year and really looked forward to a return visit. Disappointing experience. No dinner basket was served to our table and two of our four entries came out of the kitchen at just above room temperature. Had to send back to the kitchen to reheat. Would expect better particularly for the price.
We had a lovely dinner - food was excellent. The place is very nice - great drinks, cozy atmosphere. We did go back for lunch however and were a little disappointed. There was only 1 server and we had waited for over an hour before leaving. Wish the hotel would have had the foresight to adjust the staffing to accommodate it's guests.
Very good. Service excellent! Bar also!
Was seated outside and unsure what to expect, but turned out very nice! Great weather also contributed to a overall wonderful experience!
Osteria Avanti was a complete 10/10. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the Steak Tips (the mushroom risotto is to die for) and the Peach Martini! If you have time after dinner, I recommend strolling the Inn at Leola Village’s gardens.
This was the second time dining at this restaurant.
Several weeks ago we had an amazing meal. The food, drinks, service were amazing and we eagerly looked forward to another great dining experience.
Unfortunately that was not the case during this second visit.
Starting with the cocktails - during this visit the drinks were smaller and lacked the flavor of the first visit. When the bread for the table arrived it was either stale or way over baked - dry and tasteless.
We ordered the meat and cheese board - something that should not have been that difficult to make - however this time the quality and quantity was greatly lacking.
After a short 7 min of having the meat and cheese board delivered both the salad and entrée that we ordered arrived at the table. The salad was not the one that we ordered and the waiter took it back to the kitchen and left the entrée - about 15 minutes later the salad arrived. The pasta entrée was okay but a bit underwhelming- the caprese salad was a huge disappointment- with it being the end of summer in Lancaster PA- one would have thought the tomatoes would have been farm fresh with lots of fresh basil - instead of the tasteless refrigerated tomatoes that were served along side a few scant basil leaves - was an expensive and tasteless fail.
While the waiter was courteous the overall dining experience was awful and left us wondering if we had even returned to the same restaurant that we had gone to before.
We will definitely reconsider returning and after we praised and recommended this restaurant to our friends- we will be hard pressed to ever return
Was good. Food excellent. Wait staff friendly but inexperienced
The menu was not what was on there website and they had know excuse. Will never go back
the food was great, the staff was great, and we loved every minute of it
Quaint! Delicious! This is a great place for a special occasion
Service was excellent. Food was very good. Table was a little cramped but would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone and will definitely return again.
Our server Alessandro was patient, informative, and attentive. The environment was amazing and we enjoyed everything we ordered. The mussels were the best I’ve ever had! Highly recommend the penne with braised beef, goat cheese, mushrooms, & chocolate shavings.
Everything from the waiter, service, and food was absolutely amazing!! We are definitely planning on returning!
The service was mediocre… food better than average.
Everything was extremely good and service was great.
We had a 5 pm dinner reservation, we were the only ones there till about 6 so it was very quiet which was exactly what we wanted. Our server was great- described dishes in detail and made a good wine recommendation. We ordered too much food (and he warned us) but we wanted to try so many things so we enjoyed the leftovers for lunch today. Very scenic drive and as far out as we thought. Next time we will take advantage of the spa and spend the night at the Inn!
Unfortunately my high expectations were not met. I waited too long for the server to acknowledge me. She was swamped. Perhaps understaffed or overbooked. It appeared that it was more important to get the food out of the kitchen and deliver it to the table without much thought on how it was being presented to the guests. The swordfish was overcooked -leaving it unpalatable -and thus, leaving more than 2/3 of it on my plate. The dining room was small and without much natural lighting -feeling louder and darker than other restaurants. Perhaps I dined during an exceptionally busy evening. Nevertheless, I prefer the Cork Factory Hotel Restaurant.
