Osteria al Doge
Food wAs good, service efficient, nice ambiance
Service was good. Waitress was very engaging. Pizza was disappointing. Crispy crust but toppings were cold. Wine was good but very expensive for 1 nice glass. Ordered 3 desserts to go and realized when we got back to the hotel only 2 made it. Disappointing. The calves liver was very good , tender and flavorful.
Yummy delicious food. Service was excellent and not to noisy. Outstanding Monk fish on special ! Will return
We had a really nice dinner. The food was very good. We would definitely go back.
This is one of our favorite restaurant. The food is always great and so is the service. Great cocktails as well.
Birthday, attentive service, great food
Adjacent large table with drunken diners yelling and cursing. Manager declined to ask them to tone it down because ‘who was he” to tell otger human beings what to do. We had been going to this place after theater for years. It was almost empty this time, business way off, and now we realize why. We will not go again.
Great neighborhood restaurant with authentic Italian. Perfect pre it post theater!
we went this restaurant because it was close the theater we were going we saw the show Beautiful for the appetizer We got the fried calamari and Caesar salad the calamari came with fried shrimp never saw that before they had a pad on the bottom to to dry up the oil very smart it was excellent . For the entrée my wife and I have a risotto with mushrooms excellent I highly recommend this restaurant lf you going to a show to see beautiful. Make your reservationvery great dinner and then go to the show enjoy the show was fabulous
Love the food here.. delicious!
It’s Always a Favorite we we visit
Osteria al Doge is a great place for before or after theater meals. The food is fresh tasting and well-seasoned. We love the olives and the bread basket. I usually have the fish special - Thursday it was skate, which I had never had. It was very tender and in a wonderful lemon, white wine, and caper sauce served with mashed potatoes and sautéed green beans. Very nice. The salad special was shaved artichoke hearts with parmesan, arugula, and a lemon vinaigrette. Also great. Service is prompt and efficient. oOnly draw-back is that the tables are very close together. We try to hit less busy times, but even at 5 p.m. the place was almost full. It is very good food.
Good location for post theater supper. Service and ambiance very good. Price moderate for neighborhood, but food quality only ok. I guess you get what you pay for.
My office is in Midtown west right between Times Sq and Rock Center, and this place is one of a few gems in the area. The neighborhood is saturated with lots of restaurants for business lunches, but Osteria al Doge is stands out in that it is well run, offers quick service, and is a great value for higher end restaurants in the area. It has been one of my favorite go to's for business lunches the past few years. Give them a try!
We had an early, quick pre-theatre dinner. The food was very good. Our waitress was very attentive to the fact that we had an early curtain and we got everything we ordered quickly and efficiently.
I love this place. It always comes through with delicious food, fast service, and really really nice waiters and waitresses.
Very Disappointed! We have for many years come to Osteria al Doge if we were in the city for a show or other occasion and were dedicated fans but the quality of the food has plummeted to where it was almost inedible and tasteless. When we first came probably over ten years ago, their food was wonderful. Not sure if they have a new chef or if they have changed (lowered) their standards, but the food is terrible. I love the atmosphere and the location but they really need to step up their game because the food was bland, just not the quality or high standard you would expect from a Manhattan restaurant unfortunately.
Birthday celebration and trip to the theatre.
We've been there three times now. A very nice lady was our waitress. She was friendly and professional.Excellent restaurant when you go to Phantom of the Opera,The food was excellent each time that we were there. We will definately go back next time that we will visit New >York.
Tasteless fish with scales. Blah pasta dishes. Enjoyed on prior visit. Will not go back.
Always have a great meal and lovely time here when we come into NYC!
Service was quick and friendly, dinner was delicious! We stopped in after watching a show and were glad that we chose this restaurant. My wine and water glass were never empty, yet I never felt as if the waiter were hovering either. I plan to go back on my next trip to NYC.
Visited on Jan. 2nd after seeing a Broadway show, the restaurant was still beautifully decorated with holiday greenery - the ambiance and interior is visually inviting, larger than I expected and staff was very attentive. Will be revisiting when in the city again. Homemade tagliatelle with Bolognese ragu was fabulous.
Excellent food - a terrific waitress. So good we have booked a return visit.
Everything was great. Service was superb. Everyone was friendly.
The calamari appetizer was not tasty. Otherwise food would have a 4th star.
Another fabulous meal at Osteria Al Doge. Everything was perfect, as usual. The maître d' gave us a wonderful table in the front, and the server was excellent. We had the branzino (perfection) as well as the great bruschetta and ceaser salad (served in their signature parmesan bowl -delicious!!). All in all, a great experience.
War eine super Atmosphäre tolle Party super nettes Personal und nette Gäste !
Awesome New Years Eve experience! Amazing food, ambiance and the staff was so attentive and gracious.
I have been coming to Osteria Al Doge since it opened. The menu is varied, it is consistently excellent and the service is attentive.
We went pre-theatre and they moved the meal along to make our curtain without our feeling rushed.
We love Osteria. Food and service never disappoint, and it’s so convenient to the theatre district. Perfect pre- or post-show spot!
This is an excellent choice for pre-theatre dining. It is close to many Broadway theatres but it is not the typical tourist trap restaurant. The food is high quality Venetian style served in an attractive setting.
Perfect tout était parfait service et nourriture
We went to this restaurant before a Broadway show. They were very wonderful about getting our food order in and being aware of the time. The food was delicious and the restaurant is very convenient for seeing a show in NYC. I would recommend this restaurant to any of my friends that want a good place to eat in Times Square area.
we walked in and were immediately seated. our waitress was exceptional. the food was great and we enjoyed every last bite.
Our first time at this restaurant. Fantastic food! The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holiday. The only thing I didn’t appreciate, the maitre d constantly hovered around our table near the end of our meal. We still had a 1/2 bottle of wine to finish. It was clear he wanted us to hurry and get out. The wait staff was very nice, but forgot the silverware when dinner was served And, brought us 2 wine glasses from the dishwasher. The glasses were too warm for the wine,, replaced with room temp glasses. Overall, we had a nice evening.
Perfect location for pre-theater lunch. The waitstaff is very attentive and makes sure you have time to get to your show. Great bread basket. Chocolate mouse was delicious but I'm not sure it's worth $14
Convenient to theaters but extremely overpriced. Who in their right mind would pay over $30 at lunch for some grilled squid with arugula salad if the restaurant were not located smack in the middle of Broadway shows? It's what my father used to call a Clip Joint.
Love this restaurant. Always reliable good food
Wonderful all around
