Our first time having dinner in this wonderful restaurant. An excellent value & phenomenal service. It’s a little bit quieter if you eat upstairs. We will definitely be back again.
Very enjoyable. Good food. Tables are a little too close.
Osteria al Doge has great Italian food that's served in a wonderful atmosphere. We had the pasta special prepared in a sausage ragout and the muscles and clams in wine. Everything was perfect even down to my espresso after dinner.
Classic! Great food. Authentic. Perfect pre-theater!
We're always very pleased when we dine at Osteria al Doge. It's not far from most theaters and they are always ready to serve meals efficiently and carefully when it's a pre-theater dinner. The menu is broad and not simply just filled with pastas. What we especially like is there are MANY gluten-free options and they're very good at accomodating for that restriction. For that reason, especially, we come here. If there's one downside is it's located on a strange block near a bar and a parking garage which isn't the prettiest in the world. But one should ignore them; tucked away in between is the restaurant. It's worth the trip.
I liked the restaurant.
We had octopus for a first course and pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe as a main. Lemon tart for dessert.
All the food was good. Service was efficient.
Absolutely our go to place in NYC and never disappointed
Great food. Great service. We ate here before we went to see Hello Dolly! Great experience. Would go eat here again anytime!
We had very attentive wait staff who made it their mission to be sure you had a great experience AND got through in time to get to a show.
This is my go to dinner place before the theater. Great food and interesting specials. You can share pizzas and appetizers to economize but the price range on the menu is wide. Some good wines under 50.00. Staff is gracious and helpful. Gets very busy right before show time so make a reservation!
Homemade pasta was excellent...we ordered lasagna and the tagliatelle
Was not crazy about the Caesar Salad...no Caesar dressing, just lettuce and anchovies?.
I would definitely recommend Osteria al Doge.
Each dish was very tasty. But the Caesar Salad was bland.
This was my first time here and the food was delicious and the service was top notch. The lasagna is amazing and they had a chick pea puree soup as a special that was wonderful.
I took my wife, 3 adult children and Aunt here for dinner prior to seeing Hamilton on Broadway. We chose this restaurant because it was walking distance from our Hotel and to the show. I was a little concerned that it would be a tourist trap since it was so close to Times Square, but my entire family was pleasantly suprised !
We sat upstairs at a nice round table for 6 people and we had plenty of room. The service was excellent. The food was quite good. I'd say the best dish was the Lamb shank, although the Veal Marsala and the Chicken picatta were excellent as well.
Overall, I would go back here for Italian food the next time I am in Times Square.
Great meal, great service. I'll definitely go back!
Great food, good service, a little noisy, but a terrific place to go in the theater district. Good bar and wines too!
Great food! Great service!
Excellent, authentic Italian with a modern, gourmet flair. Delish!
Good pre-theater restaurant. Enjoyed our dishes (ravioli in sage butter sauce, steak), excellent service, charming staff. Had a nice birthday dinner with my husband before seeing "Farinelli and the King," at the Belasco Theater.
Excellent service. Employees very accommodating. Nice setting. We ate upstairs and found the restaurant to be perfect for pre theatre.
We had a pre-theater lunch and were not rushed. However, a couple of oversights to note. The waiter did not tell us the specials as we heard him tell the other tables. After the meal, they gave out a little special 'mini egg white' candy to other tables but not to us. We had to ask for it.
Also, the place was a bit noisey and tables very close. Food was very good.
This was the first time my friends and I dined here. We are in the theater district almost every week and it was surprising to us that we had not been here previously. The inside was quite lovely, the service was good, and the food was delicious. We did think it was a bit pricey, because the portions were not large. On the whole I'd say we would return here in the future.
Fantastic food in the heart of theatre district, and won’t break the bank. Carpaccio to die for, grilled veggies best in town, thin crust pizzas don’t overdo the sauce so the toppings, in this case wild mushrooms, shine through.
It can get very busy, crowded, and moderately noisy, but this is the real deal!
Great meal. Great service was very fast and our waitress very friendly.. Our table was not in a great location in the restaurant, but that is with many NY restaurants. there is good less traffic seating it was just not available when we arrived. I recommend this restaurant
Very quite and great service and food
This was my second visit, and again, everything was delicious. I sat at a corner table in the back and felt as though I was the only one in the restaurant. Everyone from the maitre d' to the server was incredibly attentive - I will be back!
Excellent Italian meal! Pasta was superb as was the veal.
Really great meal, just a pre thetre restaurant, but deserves to be more, great food, great staff.
Great ambiance and delicious Italian specials. Deserts very good too!
Have been here on a coupe of occasions and the food and service remains at a very high level and very consistent.
We were very please with the advice of our waitress, Ramona both for food and for wine selections.
Caters strongly to the pre-theater crowd so they are well tuned in to time lines and need to either expedite or relax.
We will go back.
It was good for a quick pre theater dinner. The wait staff was attentive and met our needs. There is a self check coat system which is a bit awkward. The food was good and service quick. It fit our need. It is small but not too noisy. There are also tables upstairs.
We have been here several times both pre and post theatre. The food is authentic and nicely prepared. Always good service whether you're in a rush or want to linger.
2nd time to eat here and loved it even more the this time. Excellent food and ambiance!
Had a wonderful dinner while in NYC for a conference. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. The food selection was great--quite a variety! Everyone enjoyed their meal, drinks, and dessert. Would highly recommend.
Great Food great service service and excellent experience. our dishes were all very good
Great find in the theatre district for pre-show dining. The waitress was friendly and attentive and made sure food arrived timely so we could make our show. The mushroom risotto is delicious. It does get a bit noisy with a boisterous crowd. Good wine list.
Good food and a nice vibe. Gave ourselves 2.5 hours before our show on Broadway thinking that would be enough time but it's such fine dining that it wasn't enough time. Overall great experience though!
We were on the second floor, and our waiter was outstanding. He inquired whether we had
theater tickets and helped us get served in time. He was wonderful.
Atmosphere, service, food, can hear each other talk and ABOVE ALL, WARM WELCOME and AMAZING AMBIENCE like a big family especially for a busy theater area venue!
