Osteria al Doge
Need to book at 10:45 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Service and food were amazing and they accommodated our every request. What a gem in the heart of Times Square!
Great risotto with rucola, shrimp and tomato’s, perfectly made. My husband had a wonderful lasagna dish and lovely beet, goat cheese and rucola.
Consistently excellent and a favorite spot for us before theater.
It is always my boss's favorite place. She loves the food and it has been one of her go to places with gatherings for many many years. This time was no exception. Everything was great!!
I love this place. Sitting upstairs is best. Quick kitchen great for pre-theater. Food comes to table tasty and hot. Dessert special heavenly and good coffee.
One of my favorites. Always great food and great service. Drinks great too and very convenient to theater district and especially Town Hall
I hadn’t visited Osteria al Doge in many years. While I remembered the dining experience to be positive my partner and I were blown away by the quality of the food and preparation and the reasonable prices. Everything from the pasta special to the seafood main to the wonderful dessert was mouthwatering and first class. Service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended if you’re in the Theater District.
Osteria al Doge is consistently good. The menu is great making it hard to decide what to order. Never disappointed.
We dined here the last time in NYC and had a good meal then as well as on this trip. I went just with a pasta dish this time and was not disappointed. My wife had a pasta dish also and wanted to add chicken to it but no dice. A little disappointing. It across from the Belasco Theatre so before or after the show it is nice but you better have a reservation. They will ask if you are trying to make a show so that you get a meal that will get you there on time.
Their pastas are a real treat! The food came out promptly, hot and delicious. Super place to go before the theatre or any time, for that matter.
Was ok . Did not accommodate diet preference.
Other food was just ok. Only went because near theater district. There are better places.
A very nice before or after theater dining establishment. A very friendly, warm atmosphere.
This restaurant is one of the coziest, prettiest places in the theater district and I am a native New Yorker. This past Friday was my 5th or 6th time dining there since I truly believe it is a gem to hit prior to a show. Food was great.
Excellent service, highly organized. Our server asked about our theatre time and accommodated accordingly.
Really loved our experience here. Great ambience, food, service. Our server Cynthia was super... professional, friendly, helpful. My linguini with seafood was excellent... The lasagna outstanding. Most memorable dessert... the chocolate mouse. Recommended by Cynthia, and it's what I'll come back for next time. Great job, everyone.
Perefect before show! Food was delicious and service was great!
Great place for preheater dinner Varied menu choices
Great! Amazing waiter and service...
Wantes a place with good food, nice atmosphere, and relatively quiet. Our hotel recommended this restaurant and it was the best. Would definitely go back there again.
We've been to this restaurant before, and was only too happy to come back to it prior to seeing a Broadway show. I have a family member headed to NYC for dinner and a show in honor of his wife's birthday, so of course I will advise him of this wonderful restaurant. This restaurant is a highly recommend!
I’ve been eating here for years — when in NYC and seeing a show. I’m sad to say that I think Osteria al Doge has lost its luster. It was fine but seems to be just coasting.
The ambiance is the biggest plus at this mid-town fixture. The grilled octopus was a little mushy, and the Caesar was pretty average, served in a Parmesan bowl. Service was excellent, as was the pappardelle.
We were celebrating my birthday with a Broadway show and dinner. The meal was excellent and the service was very fast. Will definitely go back.
Came here for the first time before seeing a show.
I was very surprised at how good it was. The food was excellent as were the drinks and decor.
Service was great and I had a top notch waiter. My only issue was the espresso. The flavor was good, but not the technique. No crema whatsoever. Wish I didn’t end my meal like that. Anyway, I will definitely be back and I highly recommend it.
Excellent service, however, if you have young children move on. We were greeted with less than a thrilled look when they saw our 6 and 4 year olds (who know how to act in restaurants). We were placed on the second floor in the corner. They don’t have a children’s menu, but accommodated requests for plain pizza and pasta with red sauce. It was kind of annoying that they kept filling the kids’ drinking glasses to the brim with water, when I asked them not to. You would think it would sink in after we had a spill! All in all we enjoyed our meal, I just wish they were a bit more family friendly.
The pasta was fine. The desserts were great. My biggest issues were the incredibly cramped seating and a VERY loud table immediately behind me. An approx 12 year old child was screaming at his mother because she took away his cell phone. Not the restaurant’s fault, but made our date night less enjoyable, nonetheless. Not sure I’d go back. Im sure there are better Italian restaurants around the city.
Emanuel was our server and he gave us excellent recommendations! From start to finish Osteria al Doge was fabulous! The Caesar Salad was fresh and served in a wonderful parmesan crisp bowl. The spinach ravioli was light and had flavors that popped. We will definitely be back!
My lasagna was divine and my friend's ravioli got rave review, too. We could hear our conversation easily and both commented that it's a great pre-theater spot!
Best Italian food in the area.
We chose this restaurant before our Broadway show, Hamilton. It was Valentine’s Day. My husband got the Tagliatelle Bolognaise. The noodles were overcooked and sauce lacked flavor. I got a four cheese pasta. This was also totally average. The server was great and very attentive but food was dismal.
good place for a pre theater dinner or lunch pre matinee. value is good for the area. service was great. great variety of food on the menu
Great before theater spot. I sat at the bar and had great service from the bartender and some.good coversation from fellow diners.
There were 8 of us and we all were delighted with both the service (unobtrusive, efficient) and the food (delicious!!)
A nice oasis in a very busy area. Very good quality real Italian food. Very cordial and capable wait staff. Very warm and convivial atmosphere.
Osteria al Doge is a great place to go before or between parts of a show. We had a great dinner between the two parts of Harry Potter. The wait staff was fabulous, attentive, assuring that we weren't rushed but were on time for our show. Food was delicious!! Would definitely return when seeing another show.
It was wonderful !! Food amazing , service great and the atmosphere was wonderful! Totally exceeded our expectations! We will absolutely go back !
It was a pretty good experience dining was awesome
We love, love, love Osteria al Doge.
We have been enjoying dinners here with out-of -town family members who request this restaurant when planning their visit to NYC.
Terrific food. Pleasant wait-staff.
We have been dining here for over 15 years.
We felt very rushed... we arrived at 7:40 for a 7:45 reservation and was done by 8:15. The food came so quick we were not even done enjoying the bread, oil and olives. We decided not to have dessert because our waitress told us we were her last table of the night. We definitely were rushed and did not enjoy the experience.
Outstanding menu and service
