We were looking for an authentic Italian restaurant & we found it at Osteria. We especially appreciated the pasta is homemade, on-site. Much to our surprise we were able to have a gluten-free option for one member of our party! All our choices were delicious. Our server was friendly, helpful & efficient. We hope to come back if we are in Pittsburgh again.
The food was very good. I had the Bruschetta and Pork Confit Ragu for dinner. The Bruschetta was very fresh and the bread was lightly toasted. Toasted enough to get the "rawness" out but not so toasted as to make unbearably hard to chew. The Pork Confit Ragu was very good. The pasta could have been dressed in the sauce a little better as it was a little bit chewy but not enough to takeaway from the overall meal. The pork was very tender. The only complaint i have was the dessert. I choose the Baklava Cheesecake It was served cold and was almost impossible to eat. The dessert consisted of a Phyllo pastry top, an oat or nut filling, cheesecake, and then the crust. Because it was served cold the pastry had wielded itself together and was very hard to cut with a fork. Tried a knife and the dessert literally fell apart. The pastry was very chewy and not crisp at all. Would definitely recommend to a friend but recommend they skip the Baklava Cheesecake.
Connor provided some of the best service we've had at our lunchtime get-togethers - attentive but not intrusive. The menu choices were just what we were looking for - soups, salads, flatbreads and impressive appetizers. Wine list with interesting choices. We'll be back !
My parents and I went to Osteria for my birthday dinner on Saturday, October 26th. The vibe of the restaurant was cute and cozy, with dim lighting that allowed us to still see. Bobby was our server. He was friendly, kind, and knowledgable. We had the bruschetta as an appetizer and it was the best I have ever had. All of our entrees were delectable. Bobby put a candle in my dessert and wrote "Happy 23rd Birthday" on the plate, which made the night all the more amazing. I would highly recommend.
This is one of my favorite places. I had an exceptional date night there. The food was wonderful, the ambience was relaxing and friendly. This is definitely a quaint and posh restaurant. The dishes we had were amazing, i will be returning over and over.
The bread was absolutely outstanding, I’d go back simply to eat that in the various versions they do. The 2350 sandwich was great, chicken nice and tender which is always a worry for a sandwich. Service was awesome, just the right amount of attentive, and knowledgeable too. Highly recommend eating here!
everything about this place is exceptional - food - service- atmosphere
The polenta with Italian sausage was very good, and just the right portion. We come here often and the food is consistently good. The on-site pastry chef is a plus. Wonderful tiramisu. We love their salads.
Melissa was wonderful! Great happy hour specials and lots of menu options. The mussels appetizer was a little bland. The flavor of my chicken piccata was great, but the pasta was a little over cooked. Definitely try the Cannoli ice cream!
Overall we enjoyed our meal at Osteria. We really like to more casual atmosphere of the restaurant, more casual than many of the Italian restaurants in the city. Overall, the food was outstanding and an excellent value. There was some confusion around getting seated, and we didn't end up at a high top, which was fine. We were immediately able to order as the menu is concise and straight forward, so we got our order in quickly. After that, we waited for quite a while and hadn't yet received our appetizer as other around us were being served.
It became clear that our server hadn't put our order in. At a certain point, the manager finally came over and said that there was a backup in the kitchen and that our appetizer would be coming and it would be on her. There were no other issues beyond that - honestly I think that it was a new server who made a mistake. Once we were past that, food came out quickly and it was excellent. The appetizer was comped and I was honestly shocked at how inexpensive the meal was.
The bottom line is it is a cool place with great food. A little mixup on the order isn't a deal-breaker. We had to wait a little longer than I would like, but would definitely go back again
Service from Sarah and Sheila was excellent. Food was great as usual.
Osteria 2350 is a definite favorite of ours. The food is consistently good and the staff does a great job of making us feel welcome. We’ve introduced your restaurant to friends from outside of the Strip District and now they’re regulars as well.
Someone in the kitchen was throwing metal around the entire time we were there. It was very loud and negatively impacted the experience.
Joe was a fabulous server. The wine pairing was a great addition. Dessert was fabulous
Dined during Pittsburgh Restaurant Week and all 4 of us chose their prix fixe offerings and the great $15 add on for wine. Excellent food and generous wine pours which accompanied.
The restaurant has a very cool design and the wait staff is very attentive and friendly. However, my lunch was awful. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was junks of pork on a bun (not pulled) with a lot of fat. The homemade chips (separate charge - sandwiches do not come with sides) were very salty.
Dan did a great job. The good, as usual, was terrific.
Food is going downhill. Pizza is comparable to a chef boyardee make your self pizza. Shrimp risotto is way to oily. Very unhappy with our meals.
Our schedule kept changing as we incremented our reservation, arriving at 8:30 pm. Our first visit, the restaurant was sparsely populated. Our server was enthusiastic and wonderful. Noting it was our first visit, she recommended a # of menu items. We started with marinated olives, and were amazed at the variety and volume; good job!
My ?'s were answered and the kitchen went out of its way to accommodate a slight menu change. My sausage and spinach papardalle was perfect: fresh ingredients, tasty and an appropriate portion size, fairly priced. My wife (and I) enjoyed her vegetable flat bread.
We had a wonderful experience, recommended to a few friends, and plan to return soon. Well done!!
We had lunch.,The food was good, not outstanding.
It was dinner for my 5 y o granddaughter’s birthday. They knew this ahead, and gave her a special birthday cupcake dessert which she loved. The waiter was very kind considering a 3 and 5 year old present. We love this place, and it is a great deal.
Went to Osteria for the first time for dinner with my husband upon a friend’s recommendation. I ordered chicken piccata and the meat was tough/ rubbery, pasta and overall flavor of the meal was so so. I sent my meal back. My husband had chicken parmigiana. He was later sick all night not sure if this was related to the food he consumed. Overall, the food was poor. There are much better Italian restaurants in Pittsburgh such as IL Pizzioula, Arlechinno.
Wonderful service. Food was very good. Wine selection was very nice and the cannoli was excellent.
We enjoyed it so much that we ordered more through grubhub the next day for lunch. Delicious.
Loved the layed back atmosphere . Our server Melissa was Excellent ! Lunch beans & greens, antipasto and prosciutto sandwich was Excellent. Will return and refer for another visit to have dinner. 👍👍👍👍👍
Melissa did a great job. She was very helpful with my menu specific questions. Being a Celiac, I ask many questions regarding the food preparation. She was able to answer or get the answer for me.
Family in town!
Very friendly and welcoming . Good food . Great atmosphere. Will defiantly go back
Best value of food in Pittsburgh
Extremely friendly and courteous staff. You can call in to preorder your food if you are in a hurry. Lunch was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed their GF buns - which are AMAZING. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Nothing special, nothing horrible.
Suitable option if your in the area.
The homemade with pasta chicken special with artichokes, olives was fabulous! Service was friendly; there to refill glasses and take care of us, but not in our face; it could not have been better. This was dinner with a colleague and we were able to carry on a conversation without yelling because the noise level was low. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and service. I will be back soon.
Always have amazing service and fantastic quality food. Great drinks and love chatting with the staff.
I have eaten here maybe 4 times. The food is always good. The Servers are friendly and help to make the experience worth the cost. This visit however was a little different. Food was still good, the waiter was still great. But whoever was getting the food out of the kitchen was not up to the task. our first course came out twice. When the entree's came out, they screwed up one of the orders. The fix should have been pretty quick, but it wasn't. The last entrée came out very late. Kind of screwed up what otherwise could have been a nice meal. And the manager who seemed to be handling the front of the house was like, Mehh.
This place is always consistent and reliable. Service is always great and the food is delicious.
The casual Atmosphere was great, we loved our server. He had a great sense of humor. The entrees were specially prepared. The highlight was the special dessert item of cannoli’s.
Service was amazing, food delicious!
I enjoyed the vibe and environment. Watching the chefs make the meal was amazing. Had a great time!
The chicken Marsala was terrible and so was the pasta dish if my boyfriend. Chicken thick and chewy and not typical for Marsala. Pasta was over cooked and mushy. We won’t go for dinner again.
This was an excellent Gem! Wonderful authentic Italian food. I wanted to try everything! We will be back to try more!
