Great place..Had the veal parmesan and it was not only incredible there was a ton of food.
We went to our favorite restaurant in downtown Buffalo to celebrate a birthday, and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent, the servers were outstanding, and the owner even bought us a couple round of shots. Robert was our waiter for the evening and he is top notch. We will continue to come back because of how amazing this place is. Thank you, Osteria!
It’s been probably 6 months or more since we dined at Osteria and just like every time before we were not disappointed! Great, friendly service - fantastic food - nice ambiance. Continues to be one of our favorites!
Timely seating, great wait staff, good food and drinks
As always, a great time! Food was great! Tried a few different items we hadn’t tried, and we were not disappointed. See you again soon!
Everything was outstanding. My favorite, the Brussels sprouts with pancetta appetizer. Scrumptious!
We were greeting by a very friendly staff. The food and drink options were extensive. My party enjoyed a different salad each and generous entrees. I had one of the specials offered (salmon with asparagus and risotto) and was very satisfied.
Great service and great food! We went with a group of 8 including a child under 10 years old with Celiacs disease. Osteria 166 was more than accommodating to all of our dining needs (including providing gluten free options) while providing excellent service and amazing food. We will definitely be returning here and highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was delicious. Service outstanding. I had the sea bass with risotto- cooked perfectly! A bit overpriced was the only negative.
Service was great.. Grilled calamari was excellent, seabass with risotto was very salty and the seabass was overcooked.
Awesome food and service! Next time I'm in Buffalo, I will definitely be back!
Awesome...thank you for a wonderful time...food was great, friendly service and comfortable atmosphere...be back soon
one of the best servers ever. We truly enjoyed every part of the meal and experience
We had a very nice meal with our Parents as a late Mother’s Day Celebration.
I got the Bolognaise for $29 and the portion was tiny. The sauce was super super super salty. I didn’t complain because I didn’t want to wait for another meal. I just couldn’t eat it and left it.
We told the waiter at the end it was way to salty and he said he’ll tell the cook.
We’ve been there a bunch of times but the prices are getting out of control. Two people eating pasta dishes and one glass of wine and app was $90.
Fun atmosphere, amazing food from pizza to steak and seafood. The owner is committed to customer satisfaction. If I had to pick, the scallops are my favorite appetizer, and the chicken milanese has a delicate cream sauce that is to die for. Then the side of homemade pasta and a spicy and tangy arugula salad rounds out the dish. My son always goes for their white sauce pizza, and I find myself stealing several pieces throughout the meal. So bring friends so you share tastes! I would take my Nonnie here for sure.
Service staff was personable and attentive. The food was phenomenal. We ordered the scallops for appetizers, pork tomahawk with black garlic risotto, the bolognese with pappardelle and the zeppole for dessert. Everything tasted fantastic and the presentation was on point.
Our waitress was excellent! Recommending wine and food pairings and very engaging without being annoying. Everyone enjoyed their dinners very much and the portion sizes were plenty - I took half of my veal parmigiana home with me. I would definitely go here again! Try it! You'll love it!
Salads are a must , Seldom seen on menus Burrata was exceptional as was the Bucatini Carbonara
Fresh ingedience with good use of cheese and spices
Everything we had was great! Different dishes to pick from.
No we did not like the food. The pasta sauce was thick and pasty. Very nosy and we were next to the door and very cold when someone entered. We went when they had music, but you could not hear the music from the dining room
We always have a nice meal at Osteria. Noise is almost always an issue but well worth the visit.
Servings are always large, ends up being 2-3 meals.
The bread before the meal was really tasty, but all the meals were not very good...
Service and food was outstanding. The noise level was way too loud. They had a band playing and still music from the speakers with some other music.
Had the Veal Milanese. Veal piece was about a 1/4 think. Over cooked, very dry. Dark brown on one side (of course the side face down on the plate).
Love the menu and the service is always excellent! Would have given 5 stars except the slamming door in rear of restaurant every time someone entered and the temperature in the restaurant (never took my coat off) detracted from my overall experience. Would not hesitate to go back but would dress warmer and would sit where I could see the people entering and be prepared for the "slam".
Waitress was very good at explaining menus
Food was very good. Meatballs, veal etc were very good. Portions on large side. Convenient location near hotel we were staying. Would recommend reservations.
Banana Pepper Risotto Sticks with Red Pepper Cream Sauce were soooooo good!!
We were celebrating a retirement, so we had a piece of the chocolate cake for dessert. It
was excellent and it's made in house.
It was our first time there(work lunch) and everyone was very happy with their meals. We will all be back again.
Handmade pasta! Chicken Milanese to die for. The olive oil dip for the bread was drinkable. If you appreciate homemade Italian like Nona made, this is a place to try for dinner.
Wish we would have known ahead of time that during restaurant week they serve you half portions! May have changed our decision to go. Also was charged $6 for a meatball. Yikes!!
Definitely one of our favorites! Went for restaurant week with another couple and everyone thoroughly enjoyed our meals and left feeling more than satisfied. Great menu, great drinks, generous pours, friendly staff, couldn’t get any better! Looking forward to our next visit.
The food and drinks were amazing and the bartenders were absolutely a blast!!! We will definitely be going back again!
I would recommend for the appetizers - meatballs and roasted brussel sprouts were delicious.
Was a bit disappointed in the sauce. Knowing that the owner's Mom makes the sauce I expected a true straight out of Italy taste but it just wasn't there, something was missing. She explained that she's had to modify her recipe to appeal to the current tastes. I'd like to have the "old country" sauce that she most likely serves at home.
Service was absolutely wonderful. Very attentive but not annoying. Absolutely no complaints there.
Bar area was crazy loud, I couldn't believe it. Thank God the noise did not spill over to the dining area.
Was for restaurant week thought everything was a little well done
Went for restaurant week and the choices were fantastic. Food, bar staff, host staff and alt servers who brought our first, second and third courses to the table were all on point. Unfortunately, our actual server was impatient, dismissive and pretty much unavailable the entire experience. It was obvious she was bothered by being there. I would typically tip closer to 30% during restaurant week as it is difficult to generate sales and volume tends to be high with low cost, which makes wait staff tips suffer....but this time, did not warrant the compensation. If you're thinking of trying Osteria, don't hesitate! The food, atmosphere and almost every staff member are far beyond the value...even during regular menu weeks!
A great place especially for restaurant week
This remains one of our favorite restaurants!! The service is spot on and the food is wonderful!!
Always have a wonderful experience at Osteria 166. We celebrated my husband's birthday with friends and had a wonderful time and great food.
