Everything was great from the service to the food. Went for a birthday and it was perfect!
Service was exceptional and their steaks lived up to their #1 in the country claim.
Always good food and service, thank you! There were just two of us on this visit and were seated in a table for two. We could have fitted all our orders, but kept on bumping the back of my moving chair with chair of the other guest behind me. Thankfully, the dining room wasn’t full and they were ok when I asked if we can move so both myself and the other guest can enjoy our dinner. Hopefully, that’s the first and last time they’ll give me that table, unless they’ll make more space in between.
The oysters and caviar appetizer was outstanding! The service was great and the staff was very friendly. Our table was very comfortable.
Service was pretty awful, especially for this caliber of restaurant. Slow drinks, brought salads before drinks even arrived. Was bullied into placing full order right away, but the food was not delayed as promised. Ordered cappuccinos and received lattes, received birthday dessert after the other desserts ordered for the table, and steak was bland. Don’t plan to return.
Osso Steakhouse exudes classy, clubby elegance worthy of it's great Nob Hill location. Prices are comparable to other upscale chain steakhouses like Ruth Chris or Morton's, but the quality and service are superior. Steak was juicy on the inside, crunchy on the outside with lots of flavor. The cheese break is addictive! We'll be back!
Best steak in Bay Area
Food was poor for price point. Tasted like food served on a cruise. Steaks were not tender or flavorfull. Crab was very fishy and poor. Only food we enjoyed were the oysters and mushrooms. Very disappointed when spending $500 for two.
Restaurant was extremely warm.
Drinks came very slow and the place was dead.
Will not return.
Guests out of town and a bday celebration
Great steak but no sides with order. Good service and a nice quiet private setting. Laughed when my wife ordered the T Bone even though everything was eaten. Remembered that it was my birthday and gave a small dessert.
Food was amazing but the tables were super crowded and the table on one side had 3 small children knocking over there food and drinks. The table on the other side had a couple in a angry fight.
I made a reservation for 6:30pm but they couldn’t seat us until 7:30. And we had an 8pm show. So we ended up at a small table in the bar and had appetizers. My advice is that a reservation here is useless. They have a disclaimer on their website that says “we do our best to seat you as close to your reservation time as possible but can’t guarantee that you’ll be seated at your reservation time.” Boy that could not be any more accurate!
The food was delicious but our server was not attentive or friendly.
This was our first time visiting this restaurant. The restaurant itself is in the Nob Hill district of San Francisco and it’s beautiful. The ambiance is wonderful, the employees are polite, personable and very professional. I had the scallops and my wife had a fish dish, we also ordered creamed spinach as a side. The food was as expected very tasty. It’s pretty pricey but worth a visit, we plan on going again when in the city.
Great place to eat if your going to a show at the masonic
Great food, great service, great place.
Food was good but the steaks we ordered were over cooked making the meat tough to eat but I still liked the flavor. We ordered medium rare too. To pay that price for a steak it should be perfect. We had the bone in filet and bone in new york. The shrimp skillet was oily but not that bad. We could've skipped the side dishes. We had cream of spinach and the mushrooms which were bland. The yellowtail carpaccio was delicious!!! We will have to give it another try and hopefully the outcome will be better.
One of the only restaurants that I've ever been to and enjoyed everything I ate. Food was exceptional.
Asked to be moved and moved another couple that asked after I did. No apologies from anyone. We were not able to be moved.
Brought a nice bottle of Cab. He opened it and poured full glasses right away. He didn’t decant it. Didn’t let it breath. Nothing. Then he had the nerve to still charge the corkage after I complained.
My wife and I both ordered rib eyes. Hers was perfect...mine was a New York. No doubt about it and when I brought it up to my server he insisted that he had his eye on the steaks to make sure. I call BS. I know the difference between the two cuts. And why argue with me. I’m spending $70 on a steak just bring me another steak.
Used to love this place. Feels like this server just wanted to turn the table over and get his tip.
Waiter did not bring us waters, we ordered drinks, and our drinks came out after the food was ordered. Waiter did not seem to know what was going on. Food was cold when it arrived at the table. Strip steak was tough as leather. I would never recommend this to anyone.
Best steak in SF. Service is throwback steakhouse complete with tuxedoed waiters. Unfortunately their signature chorizo cheese bread is off the menu. Too bad!
I love steak! But many of the top steaks house are crowded noisy and the food quality doesn’t hold up to the price. Then I discovered OSSO! This place has changed my opinion of a good steakhouse! There steaks are the best I’ve tasted in years! And don’t forget to order the cheese bread!
This is clearly a classic, old-school type of steakhouse. The waitstaff are all in suits and bowties and the steaks are large, dry-aged and delicious. I am originally from Chicago and we pride ourselves on our steakhouses; this one is excellent.
We have been here many times and the food is consistently good. Sometimes, however, the service is lacking but NOT this time. John was our waiter and he was very attentive and helpful. You can't beat the steaks here if you are a meat eater but, if not, there are these yummy garlic noodles that you can have with a protein like crab or shrimp.
Definitely a fine dining experience in a 40's retro designed atmosphere. We always go here for special occasions.
Very nice place..... Good food..... Served not like it should be..... Most places in st cannot serve food hot....sad
Kitchen is good but service horrible. Too bad, it’s an Art Deco restaurant but they need to understand not only tourists come, they shouldn’t treat anyone badly.
The price is high but if they delivered, it would be a nice gem.
I felt robbed!
Excellent steak, and lamb chops. Caesar and kale salads were a healthy and tasty start. Sides of potatoes, mushrooms and asparagus were simply and tastily prepared salted caramel cake and panecotta were nice finales to a delicious meal.
Having a meal at Osso was amazing. The food is absolutely divine. Amazing service and ambiance and the drinks were delicious. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Already planning to go back for my aunt's birthday.
The food was great, the service was great. The only draw back was finding a parking spot which took us 30 min. My whole experience was well worth it.
Classy all around. Good food and ambience. My husband and I choose Osso for visits with our son. It’s festive but quiet enough to enjoy conversation with each other.
This Steakhouse is the best! Every entree and side on the menu is excellent! The service is amazing and very attentive. Enjoy!
The ambience was great, the service was great, and the food was even better. Thanks Osso for making our 42nd wedding anniversary special.
Our meal was amazing!! Best bone in ribeye and filet mignon ever. Highly recommend, was a great date night before Beach Blanket Babylon!!
The filet was as incredible as the beauty of the location. Very nice wine list too. Highly recommend Brussels sprouts, asparagus and onion straws for the sides. Do not recommend the Mac and cheese. Price point was decent for San Francisco
This place had the appearance of an upscale steakhouse, and it lived up to that appearance both with its food and its service! The food was great, even though many of the proportions looked quite big, and the service was great, too! I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great steak in San Francisco!
I love Osso! What a fabulous way to spend Easter Sunday dinner. Good food, good company and exceptional service. Wonderful!
Osso was outstanding. I reviewed them on Trip Advisor and complimented how well the manager assisted a jerk customer. The “customer is always right” did not apply to this whining piece of trash.
Nice little hidden gem in the city. Great location if you're going to the theater too.
Our server was outstanding, not only was he funny & friendly he had some really great suggestions.
We had the crab sandwich & the garlic pasta, Fantastic. Another great item on the menu is the brussel sprout chips.
Sean was amazing and made sure my every wish was granted! Glad to see a true fine dining experience is back “on the hill”. We will be back!!! Oh and the hostess that sat us made sure we had our wing back leather seats and found a way to have my phone charged!!
Omg the Cheese Bread!! See you again soon Sean!
Armel & Paul
Definitely the best filet mignon I have ever had.... but first GET THE BREAD to start with. It is soft, with the perfect crust and nice and warm. Mmmmmm. But back to meat. I got the petit filet cooked medium rare and it was definitely more closer to the rare side, but there was absolutely no fat or gristle and it was like butter in my mouth. The chef was kind enough to steam some cauliflower and broccoli for me without any butter or oil and it was cooked perfect.
My hubby got the bone-in filet and he said it was good but there was a little gristle and having to contend with the bone was not worth it. Next time he would just get the petit filet like me. Hubby got the twice baked potato as a side and ate it all. He also got the Creme Brûlée Cheesecake. Disappointed that the brûlée'd top was not crunchy. It was like the sugar was brûlée'd a day or two ago and then put in the fridge and got soft. They should wait to add the brûlée until it's ordered.
Overall a great dinner. Service was okay. We weren't that impressed with our server. He was just kind of odd. Expensive but worth it. With wine our total was $240.
