About Osprey Point Restaurant
Our fine dining restaurant has a reputation for being the best in Kent County. Service was perfect .. Server Deborah was very informative about the menu & we followed her lead. Food was delicious & cooked to order. Portions (filet in particular) were on the small size but knowing that I was able to order a crabcake to make the meal complete.
Wonderful Sunday Brunch! Three of us had the Chesapeake Eggs-crab cake Benedict on slices of thin baguette with cheddar sauce. Fabulous! Omelets were very nice also. Lovely ambiance and great staff. Highly recommend. Small, intimate bar. Patio for dining also.
Love the entire property and make a point to spend at least one weekend each season on our boat at the marina. This was the first time we'd dined at the restaurant and looked forward to it. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to our expectations. The halibut we ordered was overcooked as were the tiny servings of seasonal vegetables that accompanied it. The other side dish on our plates was a huge mound of plain white rice; there was nothing impressive about the preparation or presentation of our meals.
Went for Birthday dinner on a Sunday at 7pm. WE were greeted at the door as we had made a reservation. We were seated promptly and the server came quickly. WE ordered the ceasar salad and caprese salad to split 3 ways. Both were delicious! We were not rushed at all as the server waited for us to finish our salads before taking our dinner order. The grouper special was good but could have been a pinch spicier. It was prepared perfectly but our party does like spicy food. My daughter and I split the scallops and they were tasty and plentiful. They split the dish for us in the kitchen which was a nice touch. The atmosphere was comfortable and subdued. We would go back the next time we are in Osprey point. We highly recommend this place for any occasion.
Comfortable setting. Good food. Location within a beautiful inn that is part of an attractive marina. Server was as rude as I have ever experienced anywhere - and I am not a young person. Maybe just having a bad night. Not typical of what we enjoyed at Osprey Point many times before. Our friends will not return.
Again, a nice meal! Wish I could go 3 1/2 stars for food. Some dishes better than others - Ahi tuna appetizer very good - crab "encrusted" scallops a little over-cooked 😔 - but always good. Our server, Deborah, was great - friendly and attentive! Nice full glass of wine- not skimpy like some other restaurants. Excellent ambiance!
We will return - perhaps on a Thursday for the "Locals' Specials" !!! ...and also try the Thursday wine tasting for $15.
Our dinner was extremely disappointing. I ordered the scallops with crab meat; they were overlooked, dry and rubbery. Anytime I eat the potato and veggie, over the seafood, it must be pretty bad. My wife's rock fish was also dry and overlooked. She could barely eat it. We noticed that the people at the next table complained about the beef. They ordered it medium rare and it came out well done. Something was terribly wrong with the chef.
It used to be our favorite restaurant in the Chestertown Rock Hall area, but we will no longer return, sorry to say.
On a brighter note, the staff was hospitable and friendly, and the ambience always a plus.
Osprey Point Restaurant handled our reservation well and we were given a nice round table for our party of 6. However, it was right beside the servers computer for input as well as the door to the screened porch dining so traffic was higher around our table than we would have liked. Food was excellent and choices great! Steaks and seafood were ordered and all done perfectly. Service could have been better. Drinks came to the table one at a time as they were prepared and one wine was completely forgotten.....easiest drink to pour. A couple of requests were forgotten and had to be repeated. Hence the reasoning behind the slightly lower score.
Second time here. We purposely stayed at the marina because of the restaurant. I had the soft shell crab dinner and my husband had the shrimp special. Both outstanding and great service. Be aware - closed on Monday and Tuesday.
We took some friends, and were pleasantly surprised ! The coctails, wine, and Service, were all excellent! The Crab Imperial stuffed Shrimp was exceptionally good. An evening walk on the Pier of the attached Mariana provided a nice relaxing end to a wonderful evening.
We had a great meal and service. Only problem was the noise level which at the time we were there was a bit excessive. Two large groups were very loud to the point were my wife and I had to almost shout at each other to have any conversation. Of course this is something the restaurant can't really control but the groups had little consideration for the other diners who were spending considerable $$$ for a nice meal in a lovely location. We'd go back but hope that there aren't loud, boisterous groups in the dinning room.
The waitress was bad. We had to ask another waiter for a second drink; she forgot about our appetizer; one of us was served the wrong salad (not a huge deal, but pretty sloppy); she never checked back with us; she was entirely unattentive.
The food was OK. The crab dip was way too salty. The main courses were good. The wine selection was OK.
Beautiful setting. Very nice dining room. This should be a knock-out place. With a little more imagination in the menu and the wine list and attentive service, it could be. As it is, it is OK to good.
My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Osprey. We were greeted warmly by Alisha, the Restaurant Manager who guided us through the menu and wine (excellent suggestions on both!). The food was delicious, scallops cooked to perfection. Outstanding service, Alisha went above and beyond to make our anniversary special. Fabulous dining experience!
They seated us early for our 6pm reservation. The server was wonderful. We were celebrating our 11 year anniversary and whenever we go to a restaurant we always sit on the same side of the table and they were very sweet to move the tableware for us. I ordered the filet with blue cheese stuffed tomatoes and fingerling potatoes and substituted the potatoes for wasabi mashed potatoes and they were very accommodating and everything was delicious. My husband had the NY strip with wasabi mashed potatoes and sesame asparagus and he loved it. We ordered the bread pudding for dessert and it was amazing! The beautiful view was a bonus. Would absolutely go back again.
With a lovely setting on the waterfront and a vista out over an attractive marina, this is a great spot to get a reliable, tasty meal in a very attractive dining room. What the menu may lack in original ideas it makes up for in nicely prepared and attractively presented favorites. The helpings of crab may be a little light, but the prices aren't bad and the wine list and full bar provide for an upscale family meal at a reasonable price in a relaxing setting.
Overall an okay dining experience. Food was good but not anything super special or mind blowing. We went for a late lunch on Mother's day and I can say everyone had a good time. We came by boat and got free parking at a slip in their marina. If coming by boat be sure to call in on channel 16 so they can direct you as to where to park.
A quaint restaurant at the inn overlooking the marina. Lots of seafood on the menu as expected, entree prices for lunch ranged from $12-30. Some of the food was a bit bland (no seasoning on fried chicken club, petit filet steak was good but the brown sauce contributed nothing). Service was okay but a bit disorganized. We had 2 servers that kept alternating and didn't seem to communicate with each other. The timing of delivery of food was off- not everyone's entrees came as once, so we were left waiting to eat until the last plate or 2 were delivered.
I would come back, but I wouldn't rush to do so. I'm sure we'll be back at some point, as it is a nice ride across the Bay for us, the inn is cute and quaint and not far the the "downtown" of Rock Hall. I hear good things from others about staying at the inn and overnighting in the marina and using their facilities, but we did not do so this time.
Servers were great and ambiance was lovely, including warm, inviting center of the room fire place. The food was, however, disappointing. We ordered the prime rib special, cooked rare, and it arrived dried out - cooked medium to medium well (very little pink). Rather than being roasted it was sliced into a thin piece then prepared in pan or on grill -- hard to control the temperature or retain the rich juices normally found in prime rib. Servers apologized sincerely, but wasn't what we expected from a highly-rated establishment. Caesar salad was also comprised of lettuce with little green in it, and a lots of hard stem core pieces.
