Osha Thai 3rd Street
We offer an escape from "carbon copy" Thai restaurant menus. Our goal to serve the Bay Area's most authentic traditional Thai, as well as modern riffs using local fresh ingredients and Thai sensibilities. We offer a seasonal menu that we update monthly; stop by to check it out. Besides delighting the discerning palate, our kitchen takes pride in sophisticated presentation.
Our wine list is a labor of love. It is constantly updated with new, exciting selections that we personally like with our food. See our Wine PDF on the Menu page for a look at what kinds of wines we select.
Come in to relax and remember our staff is eager to make your time with us a wonderful experience. Don't hesitate to ask for advice or special requests.
Potato, carrot, curry and onion in a pot sticker wrapper and served with fresh cucumber salad
Thai green curry with bamboo shoots, bell pepper and choice of chicken, beef or pork
Yellow curry with bell pepper, onion, potato and choice of chicken, beef or pork
The food was fantastic. I high recommend the bacon wrapped scallops
Osha Thai on 3rd Street in San Francisco is a wonderful restaurant, with attentive servers and staff, and superior Thai food. I was with a group of 5 people, and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers - which included the vegetarian crispy rolls, angel wings, chicken satay, Thai samosa, and beef wasabi rolls. I had the Ka-Prow-Kai, Thai spicy, and it was perfectly spicy and tasted amazing. Another of our crew had the chicken in yellow curry, and loved it; it was so much food, that he couldn't finish his meal. Another had the Panang curry, which is great. And, another had the Thai spicy noodles, which he said was delicious. A terrific place for a great Thai meal and exceptional service!
Great food and good location, especially for a meal near Moscone Center.
Good service but not great food quality. I would not recommend it
Excellent cuisine - especially all the hot & spicy dishes - and friendly staff.
Amazing food and great service! Upscale Thai restaurant, perfect for a date night!
OSHA is always consistent and the people who run all of their locations are super friendly, just like in Thailand. Pad Thai is excellent - one way to judge good Thai food.
There was a button in my food.
The change in food presentation is a bad form of price increase. Very poor value, even poorer taste.
Service needs to be addressed to be a viable option for business lunches. We were a group of seven with two of the guests running a few minutes behind and asked to wait until the full party was present when we had a reservation, our table was ready, and the restaurant was not near capacity. It took some nudging, but we were eventually seated. After a considerable wait we were able to get the attention of a server to place our meal orders only to have each meal brought out one by one. It was over ten minutes from the first order to the last to be brought out, making it awkward for everyone waiting for the complete table to be served and their food getting cold. We then had to again flag down the staff to bring water, and again for the check, which was dropped in the middle of the table when it was clear that I was the one who provided the card to pay.
We were seated fairly promptly, our server came over shortly after being seated and took our order. Our food was brought out, and then we never saw our server again. She never came back by to ask how the food was or to refill our drinks or anything. The food though is always great. The place wasn't full, and so was moderately busy but at 12:30 there were still plenty of tables available, so service could have really been a lot better. They also need to do a refresh on the décor because having black duck tape covering holes on the booth seats is really kind of low class and tacky looking. But minus the décor faults, I will keep going back because the food is that good.
Great food, a bit on the pricy side. Would be cool if drink prices weren’t as expensive.
Delicious food. Perfect for a business lunch.
Good Thai food. The Osha Thai on Geary is better and seems spicier, but this one is quite tasty as well.
The ambience is much better at the Embarcadero location, but other aspects, especially the food, is comparable here. Everything came out well prepared and hot, and the pacing of the meal, once they took our order, was good.
Great service paced to our desire... well trained staff
It was great. The staff
Good place for some elevated Thai fare. There's some good spins on Thai classics. Flavors aren't exactly authentic, but it's still tasty. Service was good.
Standard Thai fare. For SF reasonable prices and efficient but not overly warm service. Noodles are tasty but could use more vegetables and meat portions. Drinks are a bit strong for me but if you are an alcoholic, then it's great.
Nice place to enjoy with friend. I just like to recommend more dishes free of fish sauce
Food was really delicious and great value! Recommend it for anyone near Moscone Center
Amazing food and services!
Food was amazing!
They were super short on staff, so it took a very long time to get a drink for our large party, even water was a struggle.
Coupe of appetizers were good (crab Rangoon and papaya salad) but country chicken was just not a thing i will ever order. It was sweeter than orange chicken and if you don’t like orange chicken you will definitely not like country chicken.
Drinks were kind of mild too. Overall wouldn’t go back again.
Pretty much as I remember from 20+ years ago. Very good green curry, very good Thai iced tea.
Food great as usual. Staff was awesome!!
Very rude host who won’t seat a large party if one person is arriving later
My friends enjoyed the food, especially the oysters, which are very fresh.
Great service, delicious food. Will definitely be back for dinner.
Great experience. The place is quiet, staff is really helpful and the food is just delicious. It could be a great go-to place for Thai food.
Great food and great service. Busy restaurant so make sure you make a reservation.
The food is good, no doubt in that. We didn't like the service though. The lady literally charged us for not giving tips and forced her to give tips. You can't force your customers to give tips. Also it should be mentioned that after 9 15 PM, you cant order anymore.
Loved the curry
The food was excellent but the service was terrible. After our food was brought out, our waiter never came back to check our drinks. We had to flag her down multiple times .
We had an enjoyable dinner at Osha. The Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice were very good. Service very friendly. Great place for a quiet conversation.
There were several large parties that day (ours was 10 people) and the servers were a little less attentive than one would expect. My friend got the wrong salad and when we told the waiter he replied “OK” and shrugged his shoulders. Never offered to correct the problem. That said, food was wonderful and tasty (even the wrong salad!).
I have rated this based Thai food in the USA (not Vs Thai food in Thailand). The food had the right flavours, however were somewhat muted, and lacked punch. Decor decent. Service good.
I forgot how awesome Osha was!!! I use to work in SF and eat there often but now that I’m in the peninsula I can’t get there as much. So I very much enjoyed my meal the other day :) we shared family style the spring rolls, papaya salad, volcano beef, pad Thai and country chicken! All was excellent! Service was right on! I wish there was an osha in San Mateo!!!!
