Oscar's Steakhouse at the Plaza Hotel & Casino Ratings and Reviews
Scored a Travelzoo $99.00 certificate to spend $165.00. Made reservation a couple weeks ago for tonight, and it was worth the wait.
We arrived just a couple minutes before our reservation and were immediately greeted by two beautiful young ladies. They show my wife and I our table and immediately started service. We were waited on by a delightful young lady by the name of Tasha, and our bus boy/assistant Alfredo. They were both cheery and nice to be around. Both had a great sense of humor. The wife started off with a Vesper Martini and I had a Laphroaig scotch neat with one ice cube. Drinks arrived very quickly. Then the eating began with the crab cake and calamari appetizers, both very good. We ordered a stuffed shrimp for the wife and I ordered an Oscar style bone in prime rib. I ordered the caramelized onions and blue cheese with my prime. Both very good but just way too much onions. The blue cheese was spectacular. We also had sides of Brussels sprouts and bacon along with the clean face onion rings. We were constantly checked on by Tasha and Alfredo. We also had a couple visits from the manager, who was also the executive chef from the hotel. Didn't get his name but he was very nice.
We topped the meal off by sharing a Tiramisu. It was absolutely one of the best we have ever had.
All in all it was just an wonderful meal and evening. Want to go back one night for happy hour. I
We made an excellent choice picking Oscars. We try a top ten steakhouse on each visit to Vegas. Of the top ten list we were looking at we had been to six of them. Oscars is good, casual and very good value. Note: there are several top ten steak house lists on the internet for Las Vegas.
My wife and enjoy eating at Oscar's when we go to Vegas. They serve a lot of food so be sure to come hungry. This time we both ordered the surf and turf stuffed shrimp and ribeye steak combination. It was plenty for each of us and well prepared. We also ordered and shared three side dishes. Creamed Spinach, Brussel Sprouts, and a huge baked potato traditionally prepared and each of them just wonderful. We'll be back next time we're in Las Vegas.
The food is amazing and the ambiance is old Vegas. Great steakhouse where you feel that old Vegas history. The steaks are cooked exactly how you want them. The Mac and cheese is TO DIE. Only con is happy hour does not translate from the lounge to the dining area so that can be misleading. The service was phenomenal and they wait staff is very attentive. My boyfriend loves steak and was pleasantly surprised with this place. They even gave him a slice of complimentary cheesecake in honor of his birthday. Needless to say we will be back!
My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary. I wrote this in my notes when I submitted the reservation through open table and the waiter immediately acknowledged the special occasion. I also noted that I would love a window seat to see Freemont street and they gave us the best seat in the place. The ambiance was very nice and it felt like old Las Vegas.....the whole restaurant was made of windows. The service was great and the food was very good as well. I had a hard time finding a good steakhouse that we wouldn't have to pay an arm and a leg and this was exactly the place. We had the filet and new york strip with the corn brulee and mac & cheese on the side. Everything was great. Their onion bread, complimentary with dinner, was amazing! They even brought us complimentary chocolate covered strawberries for our anniversary. Would go again.
We visited Oscars for my wife’s Birthday. Scott our waiter was great, the food was more than delicious (we didn’t even eat the signature beef dishes) we had salmon and crab stuffed shrimp. Try the sides especially corn brûlée. The only negative is the view because of the construction going on across the street but your on the end of the Fremont experience so the lights and magic are happening right in front of you.
Let’s start with this .. the bone-in ribeye cooked Pittsburgh style was absolutely perfect! The cepreamed spinach, backed potato and French onion soup were superb, as was the sourhdough onion bread. Service was outstanding as well. Wine list was ovepiriced and uninspiring. The room is really coo with glass dome and nice view of downtown Las Vegas( although now blocked by the zip line and construction at the hotel across the street. Now —prices were outrageous. Two steaks, a few Appetizers a bottle of 80 Dollar wine (wholesale price 25 bucks ), set us back 340 dollars with tip. That’s just criminal pricing... so go, enjoy the best happy hour in Vegas with Great crab cakes, an$ decide hard if 340 is worth it for dinner for 2...
Great place for dinner. Oscar did an amazing job. I have been in Las Vegas over 25 years & this is one of my favorite steak places to go to in town. I highly recommend getting there early between 4 & 7 for happy hour for appetizers & drinks & then go in for dinner.
We went for my fiance's father's 75th birthday. The food was exceptional. I've been to many steakhouses, but I have to say the New York steak was outstanding. We had great appetizers and soups, and the recommendations from Bobby our server were outstanding. He actually took the time to take our picture on his own phone and send it to me!
Each meal came out perfectly, exactly as we had asked for it to be cooked. Our server was very friendly, and super entertaining, without being intrusive, obnoxious, or annoying (you know the type....). He listened carefully, made thoughtful suggestions, and everything came out perfectly.
We got the 3 side dishes for $22, plus one more. Each one of them was outstanding.
From the drinks, through the appetizers and salads, the amazing steaks and sides, all the way through dessert, this meal was 100% perfect. We could not have choreographed a better meal!
Dinner/show package. Staff was not well informed re: procedures which caused us to arrive late to show. Service was mediocre. Food was great and prepared as requested. Request for a window table was honored and we had a fabulous view of Fremont Street. Generous slice of cheesecake was brought for the birthday girl. Ovreall nice experience. Scinta show was excellent and we returned to Oscar's bar after show for a drink.
The food was horrible. The turkey tasted like salt and came out of a can. The salad was mot fresh and the mash potatoes had turned to glutton. The green beans were cold. Even the dessert was mushy. The server was pleasant, but the service was very slow. Even though we were seated at 5:1 5, we were almost late to the Smith Center performance that started at 7:30. I was very disappointed in this meal.
STAFF IS ALWAYS AWESOME. WE WERE SO LUCKY TO HAVE LENORE AS OUR SERVER. SHE WAS SO HELPFUL IN MAKING FOOD SELECTIONS, & MADE SURE OUR DINING EXPERIENCE WAS WONDERFUL. THANK YOU FOR ONCE AGAIN, MAKING OUR DINING VENUE SO SPECIAL. ALWAYS HAVE DINNER AT OSCAR'S BEFORE THE SMITH CENTER. ALSO HAD THE GREAT PLEASURE OF MEETING JUSTIN.....GREAT REPRESENTATIVE & PERSONABLE. THANKS TO ALL FOR MAKING MY SIS & BROTHER'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION WONDERFUL. LYLE & JANICE HAMITER
We have been to Oscar's several times and have introduced friends and family to the venue. This time we were celebrating our anniversary and had purchased a Travelzoo voucher to use. Service was great and we were seated right away. The waiter took my voucher and I commented "you're not going to treat us any differently because of this voucher, are you?" He assured me, no. We ordered drinks which were great and the crab cake appetizer. All was going well until our steak order came. We ordered the $64.00 bone-in rib-eye to share. When the waiter brought it, I at first thought they had cut it in half and were bringing another plate with the other half. It was so thin! Although it tasted fine and was medium rare as requested, the quality was nothing like we have enjoyed in the past. Definitely not worth $64.00. We mentioned it to the waiter who showed appropriate concern. He then brought chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in honor of our anniversary, a nice gesture. I just kept wondering if we got the "Travelzoo" steak.
We had a fabulous dinner! Steaks were done to perfection! We had a wonderful waiter or master of ceremony! He led us through every detail of our meal and ensured us a fabulous evening. Thank you Robert for exceptional service, knowledge and kindness! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our server Bobby and his assistant was exceptional and made our night special. The food was good but feel the restaurant overall needs an update and restored to back when it was featured in the movie Casino--it'd be a "must-go" when visiting Vegas if done right.
The 8 ounce filet, medium, was outstanding. Had the mashed potatoes, along with mac and cheese, both were delicious. Also ordered the mushrooms to go w/the steak. Service was very good and attentive but definitely not over hearing which is nice. The table bread and butter are also very very good. Went before the 6pm reservation and got the bar for happy hour. Great restaurant.
Very, very disappointing! Food is mediocre to say at least. Service is awfull. Cocktails were served after appetizers followed by multiple reminders. It didn't matter that we were not done with 1st course. Main course was served and placed on the side of the table while we were still working on appetizer. No one cleaned empty dishes either! Oscar Goodman! Time to sell and dissociate yourself from this place! Shame!
Our dinner with the Scintas show was perfect and the view overlooking the Downtown Fremont Street was almost perfect (that zipline kinda gets in the way). But the service was superb, the cast of the Show came up for drinks afterwards to meet people and we will certainly make a trip back for this restaurant alone. Thanks!
