Oscar's Steakhouse at the Plaza Hotel & Casino Ratings and Reviews
I drove all the way from LA to eat dinner at Oscar’s and have Bobby as our waiter. I adore this place and he is the best waiter I’ve had (and as much as I eat out that’s saying something).
We used yelp check in and had two glasses of wine. We shared the surf and turf and the 3 side plate. We got Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese, and the most amazing corn. We finished with the cheesecake and tiramisu.
I don’t get to Vegas often but I will make a reservation at Oscar’s before I arrive next time. And I’ll ask for Bobby again. And it’ll be excellent. Again.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE food! Table location was HORRIBLE-right beside the bar where they grab drinks all night! Waited 1 1/2 hours for COLD TOUGH STEAK & Mac & cheese was burnt on top! Should have walked out & will probably will NEVER be BACK. For the cold food and long wait they offered dessert instead of comping! TERRIBLE is all we can say! We was totally disappointed for our Valentines Day Dinner! We have never had a bad experience at Cavanaugh’s till NOW!
We went to Oscar's for our Valentine's Day Dinner Celebration. Absolutely the best experience. We asked to be set by a window with a view, we were. My husband had the Sea Bass with some type of cauliflower pureed side and I had the steak and lobster with garden potatoes and steamed veggies. The Bass was tender and flaky and my steak melted in your mouth. The best steak I have ever had. The portions were large as well. We had a friendly, attentive waitress who was there when needed, but not too often to be a bother. We also had an on site photographer take our pictures to capture the moment. We can't wait to go back for seconds. Give Oscar's a try, you won't be disappointed.
Beautiful setting and ambiance. Service was excellent. My N.Y. steak was very good but slightly on the tough side. Not worth $48. Creamed corn and Caesar salad very tasty. Four medium sized shrimp appetizer very overpriced at $18. Calamari nothing to rave about. Wine selection by glass is very limited. Undecided if I will return.
Oscars is a great place for that special occasion, it is tailored for more upscale patrons, but for the average person, if you are looking to save some dough and go to a nice place with great food this is it. Best Steak I've had, ordered to perfection. Both my Wife and I enjoyed it very much and will definitely come back here again on a special occasion. Not for casual dining unless you have the money to spend.
Took my mother & step-father for their birthdays. They always go to another downtown steak house so I wanted a new dining experience for them and Oscars did not disappoint!
Loved the location with its view of Freemont and downtown in the round, all glass setting reminiscent of structures built in the 70s. The décor was classy and there isn't a bad seat in the house.
The menu is great, there are options for us who aren't huge beef lovers and those with smaller appetites (mom was turning 80 and she can't eat a full meal). Step-dad enjoyed picking out his steak from all the options! And the sides were excellent, the baked potato is huge, the asparagus fresh and cooked just enough and the brussels with carmelized onions and bacon excellent.
All the wait staff is pleasant, knowledgable and patient. They paced our dinner just right and we had an excellent experience. I will definitely return on my next visit to see my parents.
Classic Steakhouse! We came hoping it was upscale with good food and a great vibe and it didn't let us down. My prime rib was perfectly medium rare and my husband had a delicious filet. The sides are hard to choose from and definitely shareable. You will enjoy Oscar's!
Very good crab & corn soup. Then did the crab stuffed shrimp, and although only 4, it was enough. Liquor prices are over the top...$16 for a mixed drink?? When I couldn’t finish my 2nd drink (but did not want to leave it there at that price) one of the servers poured it into a glass with an openning smaller than the original glass, hence spilling 1/4 of my drink on the table. Not happy about that but overall, was a good evening with good food. My bill (for one) with tip and the 2 drinks ended up being over $100. Don’t think I’ll be doing that again!
My husband had a fillet steak which was amazing and melt in the mouth but I opted for a Steak with garlic and chilli and it was chewy and not great at all. Very disappointing especially considering the price. We both asked for rare but they were more like medium. We bought a lovely bottle of wine and didn’t mind the hefty price tag as it was a special occasion, but no cheaper option available.
Food was very good but my waiter was rushing me. I received my soup before my cocktail. I had to stop him and ask him to slow down. I was dining early because I had an early morning flight the next morning, not because I wanted a nice dinner in under 30 minutes.
Very iconic “old Vegas” feel to the restaurant. From the moment you walk in the door, you feel taken back to a different era. Very unique dining environment.
Calamari was a bit lack luster, expected more but what the calamari lacked, the filet more than made up for.
Quite simply the best steak I have ever eaten. Melt in your mouth with a burst of flavor.
