Oscar's Steakhouse at the Plaza Hotel & Casino Ratings and Reviews
We have been to Oscar's several times and have introduced friends and family to the venue. This time we were celebrating our anniversary and had purchased a Travelzoo voucher to use. Service was great and we were seated right away. The waiter took my voucher and I commented "you're not going to treat us any differently because of this voucher, are you?" He assured me, no. We ordered drinks which were great and the crab cake appetizer. All was going well until our steak order came. We ordered the $64.00 bone-in rib-eye to share. When the waiter brought it, I at first thought they had cut it in half and were bringing another plate with the other half. It was so thin! Although it tasted fine and was medium rare as requested, the quality was nothing like we have enjoyed in the past. Definitely not worth $64.00. We mentioned it to the waiter who showed appropriate concern. He then brought chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in honor of our anniversary, a nice gesture. I just kept wondering if we got the "Travelzoo" steak.
We had a fabulous dinner! Steaks were done to perfection! We had a wonderful waiter or master of ceremony! He led us through every detail of our meal and ensured us a fabulous evening. Thank you Robert for exceptional service, knowledge and kindness! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our server Bobby and his assistant was exceptional and made our night special. The food was good but feel the restaurant overall needs an update and restored to back when it was featured in the movie Casino--it'd be a "must-go" when visiting Vegas if done right.
The 8 ounce filet, medium, was outstanding. Had the mashed potatoes, along with mac and cheese, both were delicious. Also ordered the mushrooms to go w/the steak. Service was very good and attentive but definitely not over hearing which is nice. The table bread and butter are also very very good. Went before the 6pm reservation and got the bar for happy hour. Great restaurant.
Very, very disappointing! Food is mediocre to say at least. Service is awfull. Cocktails were served after appetizers followed by multiple reminders. It didn't matter that we were not done with 1st course. Main course was served and placed on the side of the table while we were still working on appetizer. No one cleaned empty dishes either! Oscar Goodman! Time to sell and dissociate yourself from this place! Shame!
Our dinner with the Scintas show was perfect and the view overlooking the Downtown Fremont Street was almost perfect (that zipline kinda gets in the way). But the service was superb, the cast of the Show came up for drinks afterwards to meet people and we will certainly make a trip back for this restaurant alone. Thanks!
Top points for food...delicious....along with view of Fremont Experience. Special occassion dining to celebrate spouse's birthday, with our son & daughter. Staff service and wait time a bit unremarkable and overall ambiance a bit dated. Bar staff and lounge area was nice location for pre-dining cocktail and lite conversation...only regret that mini-grand was not being played...would have added a special note to the evening. Family complements to Chef and meal were all quite highly favorable...thanks for great food memory. Overall satisfied with our first visit to Oscars' ... locals since 2011!
The ambiance was trying to keep with classic Vegas, and for the most part it was on point. Parking isn't easy, but I'm judging food. Portions were big, steak was good, wife's salmon was great. Only the asparagus was undercooked and brussell sprouts over cooked. Our waitress was awesome. She talked us out of ordering so many sides, and even still we didn't finish our food. Thank you for that! We would dine there again when we come back to Vegas.
Did date night on a Wednesday- figured let’s try the old local place - was out of the Oscar Steak- which is what they were known for. Ordered seafood platter, crab filled scrimp, and three sides. Brussel sprouts were mushy. Wouldn’t go again. I am a local.
Service was lacking. Drinks took 20 minutes to get to our table. Food took awhile as well. My filet was overcooked and my dates prime rib looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for some time. They did take the filet off of the tab (would rather have had a properly cooked steak). Very dissappointed.
Have been wanting to try Osxars for years, and to say it was a let down would be an understatement . Went to have a few happy hour cocktails bar/lounge experience was great. Had a reservation for 5 at last second it changed to 4 they crammed us in a very small booth extremely uncomfortable asked to be seated at a table, waitress asked manager and was told no as there wasn't any other tables available however our reservation was for 5 and I said that, and asked what they would have done if our 5th made it in time to which I got the reply of "you would have gotten a table"
Ok we get passed that, but the food just was not very good service was fair . Been to a lot of places in Vegas and often go back to them and recommend them to friends, but sadly , this surely is on the bottom of my list, sorry to say we won't be going back or recommending Oscars to friends
Would not recommend oscars now In 2017 . We ate there 5 years ago and it was fantastic . The waitress and waiters were dressed like 1950s mobsters in gowns and suits , piano player was playing in the entrance .. was pretty classy! Now the ambiance was not the same .. our food was not hot maybe room tempt for all 6 of us . Every dish that came out was the same including the French onion soup .. we had to apologize to our group for suggesting oscars . 6 people , 450 dollars .. very disappointed .
My wife and I have dined at Oscars several times. Food is a little pricey. It is in Vegas though. The service is always top notch. Our server, Lenore was very friendly and attentive. My only complaint was the steak was a little on the cool side. Very tasty though. We will definitely visit again.
I have always wanted to try Oscar's Steakhouse and this week while attending a convention at The Plaza I had the opportunity. The restaurant is small and intimate by Las Vegas steakhouse standards and affords an interesting even if obstructed view of the Downtown Freemont Street Experience. I was greeted and seated promptly at a nice table and after checking in with Yelp given a complimentary glass of Pinot Noir which was very nice. I took the waiter's suggestion and ordered the Prime New York steak, sautéed mushrooms on the side and creamed spinach. I passed on a salad as I was sure I wouldn't even finish what I had ordered (I was correct). While sampling fresh baked onion bread I noticed the appetizers being enjoyed at an adjoining table and couldn't help but wish I had been eating with enough friends to warrant an appetizer or two. The calamari and the assorted cold cut/cheese plate looked wonderful. My dinner arrived after a reasonable wait and I was very pleased with the steak. My waiter was spot on; the New York steak was tender, delicious and done perfectly. The mushrooms were just good and complimented the steak. The creamed spinach was disappointing particularly since I had that at Ruth's Chris two weeks ago and it was terrific there. Still the meal was very good overall due to the steak. The service was very good and attentive.
One note is that the clientele were well dressed particularly by current Las Vegas norms. That made the entire evening a bit nicer.
I'm happy I tried Oscar's and wouldn't mind going back with a group especially to try a couple of the appetizer dishes. I would order the same steak but not the mushrooms or spinach; maybe a salad instead.
Great views and ambiance. Food was all perfect and fairly priced. Emma was my server and she is not only beautiful, but outgoing and attentive to serving your food making for a very pleasurable dining experience. The prime rib and asparagus were delicious and the creme brulee was a great way to finish a fine dining experience. I will be back for sure!
