Great steaks n a great setting! Can use coupon from discount tickets.
With the exception of the smoky smell seeping up from downstairs, the evening was excellent!
Thoroughly enjoyable. Our waiter Nick made our meal. His attentiveness and level of personal service was outstanding.
The waiter started by telling us about this being their Friday and how anxious they were for their day off - we were confused about who this person was. The water girl was on a mission to keep our water glasses full - we were going to drink water even if we didn't want any and despite whether or not we said no our glasses got filled. Staff needs training. For the price we paid we expected a much more professional staff. The presentation of the food was lacking as well. I was served a new york steak in the middle of a very large plate just sitting in the middle of it all by itself - it looked naked. Anyway I will not go back and will recommend other avoid the restaurant.
My friend had a shrimp cocktail which was 3 shrimp nothing special. Next night we were to Chart House and the cocktail was 5 enormous shrimp presented in a way I have never seen. My beet salad was pretty good. My friend liked the mushroom soup. I had a filet which was very good. Online it said you had several fish choices and you only had salmon which is totally misleading. My friends salmon, the only fish choice, was overcooked. Our server was very accomodating and nice. But I expected more I guess for the name recognition and prices.
Not enough trying!
Food tasty, but not hot.
Had to send 2 dishes back
Started at the bar, Steve was friendly and told us the history of Mr Oscar and drinks were on point. Got seated in the dining room, stunning views of old vegas. Food was delicious. We started with the Oscar chopped salad, omg amazing, then had the crab corn chowder, hands down the best, we could have stopped there. Main entree we enjoyed a perfectly cooked and seasoned bone in filet with brussel sprouts, extra crispy and mouth watering. Ended it all with creme brulee, creamy goodness of sweet with fresh berries. If we went back we would order the same exact thing again and again. We enjoy fine dining on a weekly basis and have experienced it all and this is one of my tops for Vegas. Our date night dinners are typically $300+, left with spending less than $150. It was nice to get off the strip for a nice meal. Can't wait to go back.
Oscar's was absolutely wonderful. I'd been here once before and I recommended it to a group of friends I was with. They loved it as well. One member of our group had an issue with his meal but our server promptly took care of it and we were all more than satisfied. We will definitely be returning to Oscar's. I only wish we had saved room for dessert!
Great place to get dressed up and go out and eat super cool place with a great history so look it here my wife and I along with some friends of ours got dressed up and went out to Oscar's steakhouse for a super good evening wonderful time we laugh ate drank told ( lies ) stories Thank God being able to sit down and enjoy ourselves.
Had been recommended to me by a friend who stays there when he is in town. Also saw it was voted #1 by the residents of Las Vegas as the best Steak House. Was an easy choice for my wife's birthday. Loved it. Waiter was great as was everybody else we came into contact with. Would very highly recommend this steak house. We have eaten at a lot of others and paid twice as much as our cost at Oscars.
Lovely evening with great food and service. Very romantic. We’ll be back!!
Excellent experience here! Wonderful waiter, the filet was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and my husband loved the double boned chop! What a fantastic view of Fremont Street too! Highly recommend this gem!
Oscar's is a definite must go when you visit freemont street.
What a gem that we accidentally discovered! Great history and cool vibe, especially overlooking Fremont Street Experience. Good value, excellent food and amazing service (very impressed with our server). The shared sides were fabulous (the cream corn brulee IS TO DIE FOR!!); we had the skirt steak and the bulls-eye rib eye, delicious!
We want to give Oscar's a second chance. Life's salmon was good, my filet was good - not superb. The salads and vegetables were excellent. Service was superb and friendly, and the atmosphere is lovely. We'll be back. It's just expensive enough to expect super steak.
Another great meal at Oscar's. Ask for Nick, he will take care of you!!
A step up restaurant in a good old school hotel downtown Vegas oscars every time we love it
I don't usually rave about restaurant. But I have to say that dinner at Oscars was one of the best meals I have had. From the salad to the steak just excellent. And the service was prompt courteous without being hovering. A 5 star rating.
The meatballs appetizer was very good; simple, good texture, flavor balanced with the marinara sauce. The ricotta dollop on the side was generous and flavorful. My Sazerac cocktail was too sweet, the glass was not absinthe rinsed nor was the rim Uber with lemon. The pink color was a big surprise too since the primary ingredients are rye whiskey and bitters. My osso buco was appropriately tender however I was not expecting the modern tomato and onion base in a classic Las Vegas steakhouse. It was spicy and overpowered the veal but just held up to the salty polenta. My wife’s crab legs accompanying her prime rib were tough and flavorless. After the disaster of the Sazerac I ordered an Auchentoshan “3 Wood” single malt scotch, neat. When the bill for this miserable dinner showed up I saw that there was a $2 #neat bump listed. $2 to leave ice out??? My server never commented or asked why I wasn’t drinking the Sazerac and tried to up sell me twice for dessert or drinks after I asked for the check. The location is nice, the backstory is fun, the history is appealing but the execution tonight was sorely lacking. I would have been happier at a national chain drive-through.
Great view at the end of Fremont street, though the zip line takes a little bit away. I definitely recomend it.
Oscar's was fantastic!! Every person's order in our group was perfection and delicious. They're also one of the few places I've found that serve my favorite scotch, Highland Park.
Excellent food and service!
The entire dining experience at Oscar’s was remarkable! The view was amazing! The food was divine and I even received a surprise birthday cheesecake!! Do yourself a favor and visit Oscar’s for an unforgettable time!
Oscar's Steakhouse was wonderful - the steak was great, but the crab cakes and shrimp really stood out.
Impeccable service. One of the best steaks in my life. Ambiance belies the Fremont Street “experience” but is worthy of anyone wanting a wonderful dining experience.
We love the food. The prices are not cheap, but you get what you pay for, and they aren't outrageous. The staff is really the gem of this establishment though; they never let your glass get empty, and even surprise you with treats on special occasions. We dine here everytime we're in town.
Great food and wait staff experience
We loved the food - the service wasn't that great though. I understand it gets busy but our waiter never came back -- our water wasn't refilled - and we waited almost an hour to get our check.
We had a group of 9 and requested the wine room. Our evening was perfect, thanks to Ashley (Hostess), Nick (Server) and Justin (Manager).
From start to finish the staff were all gracious and efficient. The steaks were excellent and prepared exactly as ordered and artfully presented. We were delighted to be there and would definitely recommend a visit to Oscar’s!
A nice and pleasant experience for dinner excellent food and great service
The service, atmosphere and food was excellent. The steak was delicious and tender. Emma was a great waitress. Her attitude was very positive and made as feel welcome. Highly recommended. Will definitely return.
Would have 5 stars across the board but skirt steak was not cooked as ordered and below your usual standards. Everything else was AMAZING! Especially Brandon, he made our night special
The server noticed from afar that my wife wasn’t completely satisfied with her meal, came up to us, and offered to take it back. She was prepared to eat it as-is, but he wanted to assure she had a fantastic experience. Came back a short time later with another steak, which was cooked perfectly. Now THAT is service!
Ecellent food the staff was very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere and good views. It was a little noisy for a romantic evening. All around great experience.
Service was great! My friends steak was rare when he asked for medium, he sent it back( I would never do that) it came back medium rare. Drinks were good.
Hostess was unfamiliar with the restaurant's pre-fix theater menu and offerings/services. Up charges high, as I ordered the soup vs getting the salads on the pre-fix menu. Filet not on par with Fleming's similar offerrings. Service staff gave you the rush act to hurry up and finish what you were eating. Nobody gave correct information on where to pickup the shuttle to the Smith Center after dinner. Overall, hype-up but was a disappointment, especially for my 85 year old mom not seeing Former Mayor Oscar....
We were surprised at our "new find" in downtown Las Vegas. We especially liked the atmosphere. Bartender was excellent, food was great, view of Fremont fabulous. We'll go back.
My wife and I went to Oscar's to celebrate her birthday (of which I had informed them via the Open Table reservation). We are steak fans, so she had the filet (12-oz.!) and I had the New York, with au pouvre (sp?) sauce. Both were cooked perfectly and deliciously. We also had side orders of creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. Our only slight disappointment was with the creamed spinach. It was very tasty, but not really "creamed". Our server was very on top of things, yet not intrusive. The great treat of the evening was a surprise(complimentary) desert of a delicious slice of cheesecake with a candle in it!
The setting is very nice, though the view of Fremont Street is pretty obstructed by the zip line.
Oscar's ain't cheap, but it's worth it for a special occasion.
