We went there for Christmas dinner at $75 a head for their buffet. I would rather have eaten at Old Country buffet! Waiter didn’t see us and three other tables. They ran out of food. Wine quality was that of Olive Garden. The GM was putting out fires all night. Waste of my evening!! Don’t go here at all!!
The best Christmas dinner we have ever had. Truly amazing!
Nice Thanksgiving dinner- very family friendly and convenient.
Outstanding selection of food. Beautifully prepared with top notch service
The $37 charge for Valet parking with no validation by the restaurant was completely ridiculous. We dressed for a nice brunch, but there were people coming from the pool in their bathing suits. The wait staff gave us the check and tried to push us out before some of us had finished our first plate, yet an 18% tip was automatically added to our bill.
The food was very good, but we will never come back. Not a good value or special experience at all.
Great food and great service, however, the fact that they don't validate the $38 parking means I'll likely not be coming back.
Our service was absolutely unacceptable.
We were seated and never saw her again.
We also called hotel ahead about if there was a parking fee. We were told parking is validated for dining.
Upon leaving restaurant we asked a supervisor about this and they stated there was none.
We went to front desk and they took care of it.
Great staff, very nice and attentive. We really enjoyed our breakfast.
Expected more of a Wow for food, esp for $30+ . Crepes were premade then filled. Bread pudding cold & no hard sauce. Bacon all overcooked. Potatoes cold with zero flavor. Does not come close to its former namesake in NYC.
Great for business meetings during conferences.
We always enjoy our breakfast at Oscar’s. Have stayed at the Waldorf many times. Normally we get the continental with oatmeal, etc. The continental offers wonderful breads, cheeses, turkey and ham slices, fruit, juices. Their coffee is HOT! Thank you for that. They will accommodate all your requests. Sometimes I get an omelette or the scrambled eggs from the buffet—just so I can have the fresh salsa and guacamole.
THIS WAS AMAZING FROM START TO FINISH! The restaurant closes daily at 11:30am my family & I arrived at 11:27am and the waiter, Mike...greeted us with joy and said there is no rush because we made it in we were good to enjoy our time.
The food was phenomenal and the service impeccable! I’ll be back here often.
Skip the buffet and get the avocado and toast with smoked salmon!
Breakfast buffet was fresh and excellent as were menu offerings
Service was very slow both days I dined here. Waited over 10 minutes each day after being seated. Refills were very slow, too.
Oscar's in the Orlando Waldorf maintains the same wonderful quality and selection of breakfast buffet items that its famous NYC Park Avenue namesake offered for many decades. In fact, I enjoyed my first breakfast there 58 years ago. Thank you Oscar's Orlando for maintaining a wonderful culinary tradition!
This isn't really at all like Oscar's - the venerable New York restaurant where I used to breakfast regularly while working across the street. The service is lackluster and the food mediocre, and is the case at all locations at this ersatz Waldorf, overpriced. Not worth it.
Hostess seated us promptly. Breakfast choices are buffet or menu - we ordered off the menu. Healthy choices are noted on the menu and I had the avocado and poached egg on toast. The entree was delivered within 20 minutes and was served hot. The menu prices are commensurate with a Waldorf Astoria but a bit pricey for the Orlando area.
The food is great at Oscar's and we enjoy frequenting for Brunch, and recommend it to everyone! However, please note that as policy they do not accept reservations - even if you're booking through OpenTable! Seating is based on a first come, first seated basis.
Be aware that they will accept an online reservation, with no intention of honoring it if seating is full.
Stuck in Mickey-land for a convention, a group of us were looking for a Sunday brunch spot. Oscar's at the Waldorf sounded like what we wanted and off we went. Although I'm not a lover of buffets, this one looked amazing, with more variety than usual, including a smoked salmon bar, prosciutto bar and honey dripping from a honeycomb! There were a lot of family's with kids, so it was a bit noisy, but that didn't really detract...everything the group of 4 tried, we loved. Only 2 things that were a little strange were that the cost of the buffet only included Mimosas, not Bloody Marys and there were no Eggs Benedict on the buffet??
What impressed me most though was the commitment to making the customer happy. When I got to the salmon bar, it was empty, although two staff members I asked told me it would be restocked. When I mentioned it to our waiter, he came back and said they'd run out, which was disappointing. The manager came over an apologized, said they'd even sent over to the next door Hikton but they were out til Monday...not what I wanted to hear. 15 minutes later the manager appeared with a plate heaped with the best smoked salmon I've had in a long time....THAT is service.
Breakfast Buffet located in Waldorf Astoria
Very enjoyable experience
We had breakfast here this morning while staying at the Waldorf Astoria. The food was exceptional on the buffet with a wide variety of choices. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and sweet. It is my husband's birthday today. I mentioned it when I made reservations. This being a breakfast restaurant, I only expected them to wish my husband a happy birthday. They went above and beyond by bringing out a personal cake with a candle and the words "Happy Birthday" written on the plate in chocolate. What a treat! It is a bit pricey but it is worth every penny!
Very nice food selection,we had food off the buffet for brunch and there was a variety of fruits, meats and cheeses, crepes, pancakes and waffle station.very elegant environment.
Valet parking/ forget your validation!
We visited Oscar's for breakfast and had the buffet. The service was great; all staff member were very friendly and helpful. The coffee was really good and there was a juice bar with plenty of options. The food was really good and there were plenty of options.
We asked hotel staff if there was a Sunday brunch in the hotel since we had a noon flight and wanted a good breakfast before leaving. We were told no brunch, but breakfast at Oscar's was good. Turns out they have the most wonderful buffet imaginable! Fresh slice procuitto, fresh honey dripping from wax from a hive, made to order omelettes and crepes, tons of fruit and pastry, I could go on, but you get the idea. If I am ever in Orlando again, I will head to Oscar's for their "breakfast".
Wonderful experience. Food was perfectly cooked. Waiters were extremely attentive. Can't wait to go back.
We were immediately seated with our open table reservation. The food offerings were high quality, with great selection, in a "Waldorf Astoria" setting of elegance. The staff was very personable. In the serving line , I had asked for sugar free syrup, but they said they didn't have any. (odd I thought), so I mentioned it to my server, who promptly smiled and said, ah but I do! and went and brought back a small cup of s/f syrup. I will be going back for my husband's conference in May (coincidentally at the same hotel) and I will definitely be making a reservation...I think I'll do that right now before I forget....
Although we had a reservation, we had to wait approximately 10 minutes for our table. Once seated, it took approximately another 10 minutes to see a waiter. Another 10 minutes for water and coffee. Almost 30 minutes after sitting down, we placed our order. We received our food 35 minutes later. (There were four of us--three placed orders.) It's important to note that the restaurant was not crowded. In fact, it was over half empty. Extremely disappointed in service given that this is a Waldorf Astoria hotel. Will not recommend nor return.
This is good. No complaints. Just do not go expecting to find the same OSCAR's atmosphere/quality/food/service/ambiance as the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan. They have a LONG ways getting there.
Too expensive. Breakfast for 3 was about $100. Better to have coffee in the 1st floor lounge.
The quality of food was amazing. We made a reservation so we were seated right away. I kept having to wait for refills on drinks even though there weren't a lot of people, not a lot of staff.
This is a very nice location, reasonably priced, nice decor and the food was pretty good. However the service was very poor and the restaurant was uncomfortably cold. The wait staff must have been overwhelmed even though they were not at capacity. We had to track down a waitress whenever we needed anything including water or bread. It took over two hours to get through our meal and most of the time was waiting for something.
Went for a New Year's Eve dinner. The service was good and the hotel beautiful. The food was subpar. An ordinary buffet and 2 glasses of wine and 2 sodas were over $400. Probably the lowest value received per dollar spent ever. They charged 18% gratuity for a party of 4 (for a self service buffet !). The parking ticket is not validated, they give you a partial discount.
Will never go back, nor recommend this place.
had a fabulous christmas dinner with our daughter at oscars-orlando. great variety with bountiful offerings of seafood, meat and vegetarian entrees. breads, accompaniments and desserts galore! nothing extravagant- festive enough for a holiday meal at very reasonable price! notable wine list. polished service as expected and delivered at any waldorf establishment. will continue visiting waldorf restaurants!
Service was dreadful not worth the 18% gratuity fee. If we had the choice the tip would of been 5% this is what the service was truly worth. We ordered a second glass of wine with our main hot plate. We waited so long for the wine that our food was cold. Wine arrived after we finished our cold plate. Cheese, bread, carved meats, and salad bar were better than than the vegetables. Oh yes, he deserts we're good. The service staff were not attentive to the buffet tables by cleaning then up, replenishing food - overall just making then look attractive. Total bill for 4 with 4 glasses of wine, 4coffees, 1 bottle of water was $396.00
Would never go back and would never recommend this buffet for a holiday dinner.
Good food, good service. This is what you expect for a holiday buffet style meal. Lots of choices, upscale hotel setting.
Went for a Thanksgiving buffett dinner. Overall the food was good with a great cheese and dessert table. However, they initially sat us near an outside door on a cold night. We asked to be moved and were. However, it was still somewhat could.
They had carving stations however, the turkey and prime rib were precut and placed onto a plate under a warming light. The meats cooled off quickly and there was no stuffing to be found!
The Orlando Waldort Astoria hotel is beautiful , however, the 2013 Thanksgiving buffet at Oscar's was small, set up more like a college cafeteria and did not look festive at all. The first seating at 5pm was already busy and the food had spilled over the serving dishes in the front of the buffet, making it look very messy. I expected more of the stuffing, maybe two or three different kinds, which is, for some people, the best part of the meal. The dishes were marked, but you could not really see what belonged to what. It was confusing for my guest who came from abroad to experience this Holiday for the first time. The martinis had to be returned by two people at the table, who said they tasted terrible!
The restaurant itself was not very intimate and the noise level was surprisingly loud. The food quality was ok but not what we expected for a high end hotel. The selection of items on the buffet were ordinary - nothing stood out as spectacular: the usual omelet station, basic scrambled eggs, basic bacon and sausage, ordinary potatoes. The fruit and pastry selections were good. The better choices were the fresh squeezed juice bar and the crepe station - but with just one person working this station, the wait was long. Service was great - very friendly staff. To see one child kicking an orange across the restaurant as if it were a soccer ball was a sad commentary on the lack of parental supervision so needed today.
Oscar's is rated 4.1 stars by 72 OpenTable diners.
Yes, you can generally book this restaurant by choosing the date, time and party size on OpenTable. Due to local restrictions, this restaurant may not be accepting reservations at the moment.
