Oscar's at the Museum - Birmingham Museum of Art
The upscale, fresh and local food we prepare nicely complements a light-filled open dining room offering a splendid view of trees and the award-winning Red Mountain Garden Club Memorial Garden.
Visitors may enjoy our outstanding menu Tuesday through Friday for lunch, and may enjoy our musical brunch on select Sundays. Please check the Museum calendar for dates and details.
More than just a cafe at a Museum, Oscar's is truly a destination in itself. We invite you to come and see.
Very pleasant and relaxing brunch. Food was delicious, many options and service was fantastic.
Initially, the experience, as usual, was fine, however, once we received the check, we questioned the wait staff and he became extremely loud, making us very uncomfortable as though it was an intentional embarrassment. it was only when MJ, the manager was called to the table did we feel better.
Oscars at the Museum has spectacular Brunch on the first Sunday of each month! Romberg that and be sure to reserve a your spot! It will be well worth you to go eat there wonderful high quality food! So Awesome! You will be happy you went!
We had a delightful lunch and the ambiance was great and the service, food and atmosphere was perfect.
I'm sure my friends will want to use the restaurant again soon. The noise level was perfect and several commented, how nice it was, to be able to TALK! Great service and I look forward to coming again soon!
The ambiance was excellent and made even better by the personal attention given to us by the manager. He made sure that our service and comfort were ideal. The food was good and the wait staff okay. I will return and recommend to others.
The Sunday buffet was Spectacular! Such High Quality Chef made dishes and so so many selections! You should go once a month on the first Sunday of each month! It is so delicious! I can t wait to go next month!
Food was superb , but the prime rib was exceptional
The entertainment adds a touch of elegance.
Pork tenderloin was also moist and flavourful.
A wonderful atmosphere and fantastic service! I wish they did this more than once a month.
This is a great venue for brunch. The prime rib is amazing. The salads were also savory and fresh. I enjoyed the collard greens and the red beans and rice. The best part after eating so much is you can tour the Museum of Art and walk the food off. They accept small donations if you choose to do so. I strongly recommend this brunch for the perfect late breakfast or after church meal.
My guy was not thrilled when I suggested we go to a buffet but he walked out being highly surprised. The food was delicious and it was a fun experience. Definitely something different to do on a Sunday! We enjoyed the art.
Spectacular Buffet as Always! If you have not been you need to go!
Oscar’s brunch at Christmas time with the Red Mountain Theatre conservatory singing Christmas songs is an event not to be missed! Oscar’s food and hospitality are outstanding. Breakfast, lunch and a full dessert buffet make it hard to choose. This year my indulgence included a made to order omelette, fresh off the iron waffles, bacon and prime rib! Delicious! I usually reserve a table a month or so in advance for this special event and invite a dozen or so friends to join. A great holiday tradition.
Delicious, inventive food, in a lovely light filled space.
Fabulous venue, friendly service, amazing buffet(s) including prime rib! Special surprise: wonderful live music with Toy Matthews and company. Ready for a return visit ASAP!
Always a great experience. Love the food. Love the jazz band and/or choir. Always a treat to be served by Marvis!
What a wonderful Sunday brunch we had at Oscar’s. The food was so varied....surely there were favorites for everyone.
There weren’t enough waiters to handle the crowd. We had to signal for our drinks, water refill, coffee, and the check.
More hired would solve this problem for sure.
A lovely experience...great service, atmosphere and music...just wish the food were a little more classic brunch than shoney's fare.
This was my second time doing Sunday brunch at the museum, and I (and my guest) thoroughly enjoyed it. We will definitely return. Food flavor was really good, and there were plenty of options.
It was great, the server was wonderful
Always a great time for brunch at Oscars
It was a Awesome Spectacular Sunday Brunch Buffet
I was looking for quiet place to meet a friend for lunch. Oscar’s provided just the right amount of good food and service. It also allowed for some quiet time to talk about the week’s activities. The available parking and the atmosphere of the Birmingham Art Museum created a great environment for a Friday lunch.
Great food - a little limited food selection and slow to refill the salad and salmon compared to other events at Oscar's, but all delicious. The music was very nice and added to the atmosphere. Our guests were very impressed with the Brunch: Thank you!
Family looks forward each month to a trip to Oscar's.
I was impressed with the food selection, server’s attitudes and the price. We will definitely be making this a monthly family outing. $30 each for this buffet is worth it. Come hungry though. You are going to want to try everything!
The first Sunday brunch at Oscars is GREAT!
The food choices include a lunch line, a breakfast
line and a dessert table. All the food is scrumptious and there are plenty of choices.
After eating, we always take some time to stroll
through the Museum of Art.
Wonderful as always!
As always the music and great food make attending brunch here worth while. I try to make it out as often as I can. I recommend attending Jazz brunch here anytime you can.
Great food. Wonderful staff.
Everything on the buffet was OUTSTANDING!! And the service was impeccable...Kudos to Mr. Cobb and team who exhibited the utmost in professionalism...It was the best dining experience any father could have...Can’t wait until next year.
The Sunday brunch is outstanding! There are a great number of meat and vegetable choices... either lunch or breakfast. Service is good. And be sure to save room for dessert.
Fathers Day for my husband. It was the perfect lunch
Despite my reservation made through Open Table, Oscar's was CLOSED when we arrived. I would recommend calling direct, if possible, or calling the Museum where it is located, before going since they obviously didn't communicate they would not be serving lunch that day due to a set up for an evening program. This was not a sudden unexpected closure either, as the evening program had been on their schedule for some time. My Open Table reservation was worthless.
The food was great. Phil was our server and was extremely helpful.
Unfortunately, we were having a business discussion during lunch when a large group of children was released into the dining room with little guidance and it was very loud for 10 or so.
Mother's Day brunch was lovely as usual. This was our family's 3rd annual Mother's Day brunch at Oscar's and I think my mother would be disappointed if we didn't do this every year. As always the food was outstanding and the music was wonderful. Looking forward to spending Father's Day there as well.
What a special place to go for Mother's Day lunch. You are greeted like family and the chef explains where things are; the waiters make sure your drink never runs dry. The space itself is absolutely gorgeous and just makes you feel good to be there, and the live saxophone music added to the ambiance. And the food!! Incredible selection, and everything was fresh and scrumptious. We've also gone here for Easter brunch as well (waited too late this year) and there is no where I'd rather go for a holiday brunch. My favorite is always the deviled eggs. Note it is also possible to stay on a healthy diet here as there are many choices including healthy ones.
The only problem we had was one of our party is in a motorized wheel chair, the woman is a quadriplegic and controls her chair with a straw. We hadn't mentioned this on our reservation and for some reason they had us seated at the farthest back table in a very long restaurant where she would have had to maneuver through all the chairs and tables, which would have been quite impossible. I told the front desk person and they got another person and then finally the manager came out and he agreed to put us at an empty table up front, he was not too pleasant about it at first and made a big point of telling me that I should have let them know in advance. In the future I will know to do that, but he had plenty of empty tables so I still fail to see what his problem was. The rest of the meal went well, the servers were wonderful, the food was good and the manager was very nice and friendly by the time we left. We would definitely go back and send friends.
My leadership team had a great visit to the museum and a wonderful lunch at Oscar's. Christian took great care of us, going above and beyond as he served us a delicious lunch. Birmingham is blessed to have a beautiful, creative space in which to meet and eat!
I went for Easter brunch. The staff and waiters were prompt and great about checking on us. The food was incredible. It was buffet and they had a large variety for every palate. Not too loud either. Wonderful experience!! I will definitely be back.
while we were the ones making (light) noise and merriment until the high school group came in, it is ALWAYS fun to have lunch at Oscar's. a group of 10 came to see specific art and have lunch to end a study we have been in this spring. the food was beautiful (so beautiful we passed a few things around to see more closely how they were constructed, delicious (we had a sharing plate or two or three), and were well taken care of. Oscar's is where I take out-of-town guests, meet friends for lunch, and introduce folks to the museum - despite the construction around it, a wonderful experience!
