Osaka - Lansdale
Preparing traditional sushi, elegant nouveau dishes, and Korean BBQ, Osaka's innovative chefs integrate orthodox Japanese techniques with international flavors to create stunning, mouth-watering bites for an eclectic crowd. Seasonal and exotic fish, an excellent wine list, and reasonably priced lunch boxes serve every palate. Osaka is a promising destination for all to enjoy and share.
We definitely received all you can eat value but the food either needed seasoning or more sauces to dip the bbq into. The place was quite and clean plus the service was warm and friendly. It was a nice outing.
Great value. Food was nicely prepared. More Asian fusion than a straight Japanese restaurant (that the name would imply). Service was prompt and the portions were more than enough. I would definitely eat there again.
Something has changed in the past 3-6 months or so?
Osaka has been my favorite restaurant for a while now.
The last time I had the Chilean Sea Bass (my favorite dish) it very different and not any good.
I still will keep coming to check out other items.
Also, I miss the hibachi. Not sure why you got rid of that...
I thought it was overpriced and very stingy what's the main parts of each dish like the meats. The sushi roll was flavorless.
Food was great as usual. I tried a Hot Stone Bowl for the first time and loved it. My daughter loved the kids filet mingnon with no teriyaki sauce. The maki rolls for my wife were good quality and the white wines were good quality and paired well with the meals.
I love their bento boxes! There was a lot of variety and the style that it was presented in was beautiful. I got the Galbi box. The only thing I didn't like was the tuna roll upgrade I got with it. The tuna felt too fishy, such as it was unseasoned. I felt it needed to have more in it to be flavorful. The portions were also on the smaller side. However, the food overall was beautiful.
The service was great. However, the food was fair to poor. The sushi nigri was room temp and not firm. The galbi was just short ribs that were cooked beef with little galbi spices or flavor. I have had galbi many other places and was greatly disappointed with osaka’s version of this dish. Kimchee wasn’t aged enough. The rice had clumps and was not properly fluffy. Fried tofu was soggy.
All in all a surprising disappointment.
We love eating at Osaka. The sushi is the best I have ever had. Our niece and her fiancee joined us for dinner. They were amazed at how great the food was. We will be back often.
What a terrible experience. Feel bad writing this but this was just poor service. We made a reservation for 2 @ 7:30 tonight and when we arrived nobody was at the desk so we waited patiently. After 5 or so minutes a girl came up to us but didn’t say anything about the lack of service or kitchen running behind by an hour. A couple at the bar told us that it is slow and nobody is working the bar or getting food quickly. We waited to be seated after about 15 minutes and then continued to wait and wait and wait.
After 20-25 minutes we decided to get up and leave since our waitress never said anything to us or attempted. All we got was that “no-look” passing by the table and not even saying I’ll be right with you or be right back.
I get it about being short handed or busy but it wasn’t “that” busy it was just lack of communication and service.
Sorry but this is the second time this happened here so we will not be back.
Unfortunately this meal was a complete disappointment. Started with slow service, when we Ordered a drink we were told sorry we’re out of honey. Ok that happens. Appetizer was delayed but they did bring a second one was provided free which was nice they recognized the delay. Real issue was the roll was poorly made but tasted fishy. We eaten here several other times and everything was great. Just really an off off night. Will make us pause before revisiting
The food is on the better side but the service is sub-par. If we went on a weekday I’m sure my opinion would be different but the serving staff was not able to handle the packed weekend rush. My sushi and cocktail sat around for a while before I asked about it. All the necessary silverware was not given to us and when we ordered the meat again for the all you can eat, we had to ask three times before someone was able to bring it. The kids meals were brought out long after the adult meals and we had to ask for water refills.
Took 45 minutes for waitress to take order. Then after another 45 minutes, my sushi dinner came (without soy sauce). My colleague’s dinner came 15 minutes later and my husbands dinner never came. We have been here tons of times in the past and never had such an inefficient experience. What happened tonight, Osaka?
Another great experience. Love it there!!
The food was exceptional and will definitely be there again
The food is always good here. The only issue is i feel I cannot relax I was with a date and could not even talk as the server kept bugging us to order...
Missed the hibachi. Food was average quality, not a great selection other than sushi.
A great place for good food, a variety of options for all palettes and if interested in Korean BBQ, a fun experience for a group!
Osaka used to be great. We actually go here a lot but it’s gone downhill. We ordered Mocchi ice cream one night that was freezer burned. Then one time we went there and our drinks came out after our food and then when I ordered my second martini they “ran out of martini glasses” so it was served in a regular glass. I would not have not ordered it had I known. This Friday our meals came out at different times. Never good as it leaves others sitting and waiting till everyone has their food. For the price I am starting to think it’s not worth it.
Osaka is my favorite sushi restaurant and Jay (sushi chef) always remembers me! Consistantly excellent food!!!
FIRST TIME EATING AT OSAKA IN LANSDALE. GREAT FOOD AND OVERALL JUST A GREAT EXPERIENCE. ROLLS WERE EXCELLENT, THE BENTO BOX WAS TASTY AND THE FRIED JAPANESE PEPPERS WERE AMAZING. HIGHLY RECOMMNEDED.
Service was horrible. Our waiter just left during our dinner...like left the building and didn’t come back.
We had a larger group of 9 adults and 3 small kids for a Birthday celebration. We did the Korean Barbecue. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed getting to eat several different meats during the evening. The staff is great, service is good, and they are very helpful in explaining selection options. We eat at Osaka at least once a month and have never had a bad meal. We always recommend Osaka to anyone looking for a good meal out.
Very dissapointed. They are not hibaci any longer. Menu was ok. Food was over priced.
Dylan provided a great Korean BBQ experience!!
The steak that I ordered was cold... The finishing Butter didn’t melt on the steak... The manager only offered to reheat rather than offer a fresh meal. The chicken my wife ordered was pretty bland. Overall The food presentation was nice but the food and service was awful.
My wife and I went to another restaurant for out anniversary later to make up for the loss
The Food and Service were excellent however we did not appreciate the loud live music at all. It made our dinnertime conversation with friends very difficult. Some relaxing lower volume Japanese music would have been much more appropriate and appreciated. Will we return? Absolutely if there was NO band.
Food was delicious! Staff was amazing and very attentive. We will definitely be returning for dinner again.
We always enjoy our time here. We love the Korean Barbecue! The chef came out and even let us try something new he was trying out! Thank you so much.
Great service and reasonable Happy Hour menu. Hibachi section of the restaurant is perfect for special occasions.
Meh. Nothing special. Vegetarian rolls where small compared to others. We 2 rolls, gyoza, spring rolls and left hungry.
Great quality of Yellow Fish and Salmon Sashimi / Sushi. Fantastic service and good ambiance. Will recommend to my friends and family.
It had been a while since we had been there, so we were disappointed to find out that they had gotten rid of the hibachi. That said, the food we did have was delicious and the service was good.
Fest service and the best sushi around! We will definitely be going back soon!
Service was slow and could not serve all the menu items as there was only one sushi chef.
Exceptional sushi, often includes unusual items like urchin (Our friend always chooses this!), yummy bento box combinations (a regular on our table), sizzling stone bowls are my favorite. We've been meeting friends at this half way mark near the Lansdale PA turnpike exit twice a year for at least 4 years. Always a delicious meal!
Awesome birthday dinner for my son. My mother had the crab cake entree which was amazing. My son had the spicy squid loved the new way it was served. Sushi rolls are always superior to any other sushi rolls around.
Staff is very nice and efficient
Mediocre at best. We were expecting something special for the barbecue but no such luck. It wasn’t bad, but not going back
Osaka is just so perfect. The uniqueness of the choices combined with Japanese standards always has something new and something for comfort. Mike, the sushi chef is simply outstanding in his abiltiy to explain exactly what is available.
Food was excellent in taste. Service was great as well. Did not like being nickeled and dimed though. Was charged $1 for each set of crunchy crumbles put on my sushi without being told about the increased cost.
