Osaka Japanese Steakhouse
Good food, decent service. Made a reservation but still had to wait 15 minutes which is annoying
Excellent service! Our chef was wonderful! Ambience was beautiful
Great food and service as always!!
We know Osaka to offer an exciting dining experience. However, due to COVID-19, it seems to have lost some of its enthusiasm. Albeit, we came for lunch at noon on a Saturday, but they were still cleaning the floors; and the smell of bleach was in the air. Hibachi grill was the plan and chicken was cooked to the dry side; however, others enjoyed the steak, shrimp, lobster, fried rice, noodles, and vegetables. Value of the food and the experience versus the prices was not what I would call value. I believe I was the only one disappointed of 8 guest, so I pretty much kept my mouth shut. No one else complained, but they also did not need to pay the bill.
Very good food and entertaining. My niece and I had a really nice dinner. It was her first time at Osaka.
It was great! the entire family enjoyed the entire experience, the food was wonderful and the portion size was even better.
At this type of restaurant, you pay for the teppanyaki experience. Our chef was quiet, disinterested, and did not put on a good show. Additionally, the stack of sauce bowls that were on the (cleaned) table turned out to be dirty. Ick.
The waiters were a little dismissive. They were really busy and it was apparent. I'm not someone who expects the world of wait staff, their jobs are not easy and it was packed, but they were bothering on rude. Towards the end of our meal when it seemed to be calming a bit, our waiter made a joke and smiled for the first time since we'd been there. I thought he was being serious with his joke at first because that's how serious he'd been up to that point.
Additionally, we made a reservation, but when we arrived we were told we'd still have to wait if we wanted the hibachi experience. I was pretty annoyed. We could tell that if we waited, it would be an hour or more based on the number of people in the restaurant, so we went with general dining to meet our reservation, but it wasn't what we were looking for, so we were disappointed.
The sushi was delicious! We'd heard it was good and we weren't disappointed. The other food we got was okay, not great. Steak was well done despite being asked for medium, and was very WELL DONE. The sushi saved the experience. If it wasn't for the sushi I could probably confidently say we would not go back.
Your reservation doesn't mean anything here. We had a reservation at 7:15p and were not seated until 7:45p. The food was OK, but not worth the price we paid, even after the coupon we used. I can't say I'd come back.
Birthday celebration. Food and service-outstanding.
It was quiet when we were there, and our hibachi chef was outstanding!
We originally planned to go to a different hibachi restaurant but circumstances brought us to Osaka for our daughter's birthday. The place was great - the food was excellent, the staff was entertaining and attentive! We will definitely be back.
We were seated 30 minutes after our reservation time and were not served food for another 30+ minutes. There were many others in a similar situation that night and the atmosphere was pretty tense. The food was good but the chef rushed the cooking, skipped steps during the presentation and seemed tired and stressed. We’ve celebrated birthdays here before and really enjoyed ourselves but this time we came away disappointed.
The birthday song was half done /they handed our daughter the mask and walked away. Service was disappointing
Cook was fun. Server friendly. Filet was cooked MR as I ordered but shrimp was overcooked. Room was very cold. Infilled table lights were off making it for an odd experience. Tough to find place even with directions.
Arrived and was told it would be a while for a table. Went and sat at bar for 20 minutes and never got served, not even a look. There were 12 of us at bar that never even got an explanation why no service.
there were several dirty dishes on the bar that never got picked up. All we saw was servers coming to make their drinks and leave. NO ONE AT BAR WAS SERVED FROM 7:00-7:20. We left at 7:20. Terrible experience.
If you want to regale a young lady on her 7th birthday, there’s no better place.
Our party of 5 non-rowdy adults was stuck in the back on a Tuesday night, with empty tables between us & a bday party. Few lights were on & we felt like we were almost in the dark, except when Jorge was cooking. When he left, so did much of out lighting. And heat? Non-existent. We were freezing before & after the meal, even after commenting that we could use some blankets.
The staff was friendly-ish, but we got next yo
Absolutely TERRIBLE service. We had a reservation for 7pm. Arrived at 6:30. 4 tables that walked in after 7 were seated before us. When I asked about our table several times we got brushed off.
Chef was BORING! Silverware was filthy and we are with empty drinks the whole night. Portions were TINY... and coming from a girl who doesn’t eat much, it’s like they ran out of everything. Don’t waste your money!!!!!
I would - but they need to clean the place up a bit. The floor was super sticky everywhere, bathrooms were untidy, Worn carpet, broken decorative things, rolled up carpet on the chairs for waiting. We had a reservation but it was 20 minutes before we were seated.... Food was good and a fun atmosphere when you do the hibachi
I am so glad we didn't use the restrooms before dinner. I don't think we would have stayed. The Food was delicious, and the chef was entertaining. My friends and family all had a really great time!! When dinner was over we stopped in the restrooms before heading home, and it was disgusting! The toilets had water all around them, the floors were totally sticky, and I don't think the bathrooms had been cleaned in quite some time. We couldn't wait to get out of there. Unfortunately I don't think we will be back for that reason alone.
I would recommend just walking in. the appointments don't mean a thing.
Great place to celebrate a birthday!
We were seated at a hibachi grill table and ordered a couple sushi rolls as an appetizer. We had already eaten our soup, salads and were eating our entrees before the sushi was delivered. The sushi bar appeared to be busy; however, the sushi arrived at room temperature which indicated more of a service issue. We were disappointed with the sushi, but our hibachi grill entrees were good. Overall, the service was lacking and all the employees seemed to be over-stretched. The sake was the highlight of our experience.
The hibachi show was great, but rather than tossing shrimp into our mouths they used broccoli instead. Noodles were plain. I don't feel we were served with the amount of food at the prices they set. We're also rec'd or sushi appetizer after we started eating the entree.
Food was so good. You always usually have left overs for another meal which is the best
We always enjoy the food and fun at the table. Server never refilled my beverage.
We arrived promptly at our reservation time and the restaurant was pretty quiet, many tables were open. Our waitress took my wife, 4 year old twins, our 7 month old and myself to the most isolated section of the restaurant. We were in a section screened from the rest of the space by 2 walls.
Our servers were perfunctory and barely spent any time with us.
The food was okay, not spectacular.
Chain-style restaurant food is rarely as good as a specialized, single unit restaurant’s food in my experience. So I wasn’t expecting that.
I do have an expectation that someone will come by shortly after delivering the food to see if things are going well as well as a follow up visit before the check comes.
If you’re okay with moderately exciting food and poor customer service, this location has both. It shouldn’t matter who comes in the door; a family or a couple, a group of friends; all should get good customer service.
The food and service was good overall. The restaurant has definitely seen better days, I’d say it’s due for a big overhaul VERY 90s and worn out tables, seating, restrooms etc...
We really enjoyed our experience again at Osaka. The food was very good and our chef was excellent. We would recommend and we will be back again. Very enjoyable evening!
Always great experience. Wonderful food and great place to meet friends
Me, my mom, and daughter had a “Staycation”, so we wanted to go here for dinner because had never been to a dinner at Osaka and my goodness was our chef amazing! He was entertaining and the food was delicious~ We will definitely bring the rest of the family next time.
The food in this well-established restaurant is good and prices are reasonable. We had several issues with the waitress not understanding English well enough to serve us properly. She brouht us incorrect items at least twice.
my all time favorite meal. my leftovers usually last for two additional meals. coupons available on val pak makes a little more affordable.
Daughter received wonderful grades. This was her choice reward / choice. Using the ValPak coupon was awesome and easy.
Always a family favorite for birthday celebrations, among the young and the old.
We were the only ones at the kibachi table yet they sat us on the side. The "show" was good, but only a few "tricks". Luckily, we came for the food first, show second. They used a LOT of butter, so be aware of that. Portions are generous. The saki was good, but order the small... The large was too much. We went mid afternoon. If you can swing that, it is quieter and conversation is possible. I have been here at night.. Very noisy.
Great spot for a group dinner with yummy food and fun.
A fun venue and enjoyable meal. Chef is very entertaining.
