About Osaka Japanese Cuisine
In 1969 Sam and Aiko Nakanishi opened the first Japanese restaurant in Las Vegas and named it after their hometown, Osaka. Located just off the strip, it became a local favorite. Thirty years later their daughter Joy opened the Summerlin location spreading Las Vegas's favorite flavors of Japan to the newest part of town. Drawing on the well-established tradition of quality the restaurant was an immediate success. Please enjoy the multicultural experience she and her staff are proud to share.

Osaka Japanese Cuisine Ratings and Reviews
I chose to sit at the Sushi Bar this night. The only issue we experienced was that it took quite a long time for a waiter to come by to order cocktails and then it too another long time for the drinks to arrive.
The Sushi was FABULOUS!!! All was SO FRESH there was NO scent of fish! The Sushi Chef was a blast to talk to as well as being attentive!!!
I will be sure to visit Osaka frequently!!
The chef was very entertaining and made sure all at the table had a good time. The food was of good quality and flavorful. Service was friendly and attentive (Thanks Ocean!) I would recommend you bring a jacket as the restaurant was very cold when the grill was off. Thanks so much...we will be back!
There were 12 people seated at our Teppanyaki table for 8. That mattered not at all. We had 4 in our birthday party. They had 8 in their birthday group. All in all, it was a laugh riot. The chef was the best one we’ve had in the times we have joined you. He did a great job and was really fun and funny.
The service was terrible, and the proportions distributed when others came to the table and ordered the same thing was at random and off. Enough to complain I order shrimp and chicken for my entree and I got 4 shrimp while my guest had 8 others more. Wasn't even filling. Don't know if it was a bad day but the best thing was definitely the Cheif! He was amazing!
Went for my 4 year old's birthday. He and my two other children loved the food and the show. Drink menu is limited but they have a full bar so you aren't constrained to their specialty drinks (nearly all martini variations). The sake choices were limited but what they had available was good (wife and I always get a Nigori/unfiltered). This is a semi regular restaurant choice for us (as in we come here 3-4 times a year) and have never been disappointed.
On this occasion the service was somewhat slower than normal, with drinks and appetizers taking longer than we are accustomed to here... However they also appeared to be short a server or two, and everyone we did encounter was helpful and friendly; though a bit over worked looking.
All in all this is a great place for some standard hibachi fare and show, kid and family friendly without being overly so (i.e. I also enjoy going sans kiddos).
Menu pricing is in line with the atmosphere and I have never left feeling like I overpaid for either the show or food quality. If you've ever been to a Benihana's or Hana-Japan then you know exactly what you're getting.
Get rid of the table the connected the two grills. It's an obvious attempt to pack more customers sooner, but it seems cheap. I understand it takes time between customers to clean the tables, but what's the point of a reservation if I still have to wait 30 minutes to sit down and another 25 to eat? The chef and the food was the best of Osaka.
We went here to celebrate a birthday, the food (its been better) and service was ok, but after the chef left the table they gave us the bill. Not an option for dessert, as we felt very rushed, so we had dessert and celebrated the birthday elsewhere. Later when we looked at the bill, they over charged us almost $40. So disappointing........
We ordered salmon bento box with tempura, menu price 20 dollars but wIter came back and said 21 dollars. We used Groupon so we didn't argue with that. Night me and my husband got sick, possible they need to change the oil, before they fry it.i will never go back, also they had lack of people, poor waitress was running around like chickens has no head
I made a reservation, however, when I arrived at the restaurant, it was closed due to a filming. I called the restaurant while I was in front of the establishment and spoke to someone who worked there. She apologized for the inconvenience and said the restaurant would open at 5pm. I was annoyed because I had someone meet me at Osaka and we had to find another restaurant. I feel I should be awarded the appropriate points as it was the fault of Osaka not to notify the people who made a reservation.
Not quite sure why we even made a reservation considering we didn't get seated until over an hour past our reservation time. Then it took another 20 min just to get water. If it wasn't for the fact we were celebrations a birthday and had planned on this place, we would left! Very disappointed!
We were visiting Las Vegas and looked up a DDD. This place was really good. Service was great. The spring rolls were awesome as were the california rolls. We also got the soup but it had a bit of a strange flavor to it and was not that good (chicken noodle.) We also got shrimp and veggie tempura and it was ok - the batter was way too heavy and greasy for me and the shrimp was rubbery. Overall we really enjoyed the restaurant and would definitley go back!
My husband and I had a great experience at Osaka. We were seated right away at one of the flat top grills with our reservation (make sure you specify if you'd like to sit at a grill) and the place was nice. The teppanyaki grills were pretty standard to what I've seen at other hibachi places. The regular dining booths looked nice with high backs. The bar area was by the entrance and looked like it could be a fun place to grab drink and a little bite.
Service was excellent and food was delicious! My husband and I both ordered the Ribeye which was very tasty. The chef was funny and nice. We also had an order of sake sushi and masago sushi and they were good as well. I found the value to be very good since we had a Groupon. We were able to use it with no problems or complaints. I did have to connect to their wi-fi to pull up my Groupon since Verizon service in the place is not very good, but the waitress was wonderful. Even if we didn't have a Groupon the pricing wasn't too bad. You could always check out the menu online before you make a reservation if pricing is a major deciding factor (I usually do). As of the time of this review, you'll most likely only be able to view it on a computer though.
I would eat here again and would recommend it as a fun little place to eat with family, friends or for a fun date.
It was my first time to get a dining coupon through Groupon, I don't think I would do it again. The place did not look as nice as on the website, in reality, the place has very worn and had uncomfortable furniture. The food was okay but appetizers arrived warm. I did not like music, quite loud and completely unsuitable for dining.
It's a very peppy, upbeat, talkative, jovial place. We sat at the sushi bar and our grrat, friendly server was Blake. The sushi chefs were very busy, quickly and skillfully prepare our appetizer rolls, spicy tuna and sexy summerlin rolls. Everything was delicious, fresh, and high quality. It was really fun having a beer with the sushi chef and sake bombs with everyone sitting at the sushi bar. A really nice, fun time. Then, for dinner I used a Groupon and ordered two Bento boxes for me and my girlfriend, one teriyaki salmon and the other combo chicken and beef. They came with vegetable and shrimp tempura, rice, salad, and some sliced fruit. Everything was out of this world, left us happy and full, and definitely worth the drive to Summerlin. A tasty, refreshing relief from the 115° temperature that was pervading.
It was my anniversary. I booked my dinner. I paid Groupon for the dinner. I tried booking for 9pm they kept defaulting me to 10pm. I get there a quarter til. I was turned away and told the restaurant was closed. Horrible experience. It will take 10 days to get my money back. I don't know who was worse, the restaurant or openTable. Thanks for nothing.
We were very disappointed. The Resturant smelled like they mopped with dirty water. Our iced tea that we ordered had an awful twang so much so that the waitress tasted it and said the same thing. The booth and table were dirty. I hope they do make changes to their staff because we really would like to go back.
