Osaka Japanese Cuisine
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
LONG WAIT!!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
We had a reservation for 7:00. It was disappointing that we couldn't be seated for another 45 minutes and it would have been nice to be given an advance notice once we got there that there would still be a wait despite having a reservation. Aside from the wait, the food was fantastic and the hibachi chef (Ken) was great. He was funny and genuinely seemed to love doing what he does. My husband and two friends both greatly enjoyed it as well, and would love to come back. The price point is about where it should be for food of its quality, and having a Groupon also is a great idea for this place.
Had a 5 o clock reservation. Got seated at 5:30. Then waited until 6 when they seated another party at our Grill before taking orders.
Thank you made my father in law’s birthday special...
Always use the Groupon and go usually 1-2 times monthly , excellent deal when you use the Groupon and worth it. Ther service and food is always great, and you will have plenty of food so come very hungry.
Great food and great service. Would definitely recommend.
Food and service were awesome !
In all fairness, we went on Easter Sunday at 5 pm. So the ambiance isn't really applicable. Staff was very friendly and the service was perfect. The dinner show was very good, even though he only had an audience of four.
Food was ok at best. I ordered a filet, but it was marbled with gristle and fat (normally not in a filet). My friend ordered filet and lob. and he got maybe three pieces of lobster. For the price, I expected more and better. Also, salad dressing was awful and Mai Tai had nothing tropical about it. Pretty boring.
Again, in all fairness, I'm comparing Osaka to Matsu, an amazing Japanese food restaurant in Huntington Beach, CA. Not fancy, in a strip mall. Still, the ratings on Osaka were 4-5 stars and I was disappointed.
This was the best Teppanyaki/Hibachi-style Japanese restaurant I've been to. There was a large selection of proteins, appetizers, and desserts. There was also an extensive wine and sake list, as well as cocktails. My server Ocean and my Chef Ken were both great! The flow of dinner service was perfect with a soup and salad included before your cooked meal. There were a few people in the restaurant that were annoyed by it taking too long to get their dinner, but based on my experience at this type of restaurant it is supposed to be more of an experience than a in-out rushed dinner service. I prefer the timing as it is and do not think it should change.
My dad is 80 years old and he loved the show that Chef Ken did😊
Good overall experience and chef was entertaining. The food was very tasty. The kids enjoyed the Japanese sodas. The menu that we ordered from was dirty and looks old so that could use some updating.
Excellent , get the Groupon, excellent deal. Always use this.
We used our Groupon coupon with no problem whatsoever. The food was great and the Chef, Joe, made the experience greater still.
The California roll was chewy as was the teriyaki chicken. Not worth the price. The best part of our meal was the service.
Thankfully we have been here before and everything was excellent, this time it wasn’t as great. We would still go back here again, with another Groupon, but I think we would stick with the weekend, as that seems to provide better service and timeliness.
Sat in dining area. Very friendly service and food was incredible. Best sushi ever. Drinks were amazing also.
Very impressed with the assistant for the table-Andrew and the Chef. They worked well together and answered all questions. The Chef had a great personality and very outgoing. Made everyone smile at the table. I will be bringing back my family for the experience.
Great experience and wonderful food. We will definitely come back.
The meal I had, I paid an additional $17 for a lobster. The cook had 4 lobsters and cut it down . I would of rather had my lobster tail. Won’t order lobster ever again
Fuimos y estaba CERRADO! llamamos y no atendía nadie! Una vergüenza que nos hayan dejado tomar reserva en esa situación!
Chaotic experience with food flying everywhere
Good if you like Japanese dishes. Just tried Sushi not grill.
I have been here several times before when I am in Las Vegas. It is always great!
Waited 40 minutes past our reservation time to get seated. Food was great but service was extremely slow.
Great experience! From the server to the chef, it was a great date night!
Great chef, provided great entertainment as he prepared our dinners! Food was very good and comparable in prices to similar restaurants. Would recommend.
Food was delicious, the cook was amazing and very funny. The server was a little confusing and they forgot to put in one of our orders (sushi roll). But, over all it was a great experience.
Perfect for Valentine’s Day with husband and friends. Would go back anytime. Perfect date night
Very good food. We were seated right away. Will come back again
worst service we have ever had. waited 45 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, sat there for over an hour with only drinks waiting for a hibachi chef, even ordered a sushi roll and took almost an hour to get it. ate for half an hour before we were asked to leave because they needed our table. didn’t tip for the first time ever- felt uncomfortable but didn’t feel fair to tip when we felt forgotten about the entire evening. food is good though, just clearly don’t go the week of valentine’s day they can’t seem to handle the rush
They were an hr late seating us. There was no bartender at the bar while we waited. Eventually a waiter came by and made bad raspberry lemon drop martinis. Never checked how they were or asked if we wanted another drink. When we were finally seated the chef was miserable. He barely interacted with the table of guests and his show was was very lackluster. At one point he snapped at the waitress for service. When the waitress was taking orders from the table she ignored my husband and walked away from him as he was trying to order something. The only reason the star is not lower is that I had an issue pulling up a groupon voucher that we intended on using and the restaurant still honored the value of the voucher for us. We have been to this location many times and NEVER had an experience like this one. I hope that it was a one-off and not a new trend.
The food, service, and atmosphere was good. I ordered the surf and turf. The lobster and filet was in smaller portions that I expected for the price. It seemed that no matter what steak one ordered, the same cut was brought to the table. However, a lot a vegetables were added, so I left full. Having said that, the flavor was terrific and the chef did a great job.
Soup was good , salad was poorly made , wayyy too much butter on fried rice and pricey even though we used a Groupon. Portions were VERY small. Probably won’t be coming back
Went there for a birthday dinner food was great staff was pleasant.
I don’t think it is worth it based on the food you get. It is a fun show and the employees were nice. Worth going at least once
great place, food was delicious and drinks were off the wall.
The waiter barely even came to our table, the table next to us was seated after us and they were taken well care of. Very sad
I wanted to love this place as much as I loved the original that was featured on triple-D. Unfortunately, the bathrooms were right at the entrance, and the place smelled like a latrine. Food was okay, but if it weren't for the Groupon, I would have been a lot less happy. The people though, were outstanding. I'm sorry to post a negative review.
Service was disappointing this time. Having been there several times before, quite surprised. Our table mates were late for their reservation and, as a result, my friend and I were kept waiting for them to arrive and place their order (we were at a Hibachi table). Felt like we were kept hostage to eat waiting for them to arrive. Turns out it was their first time and they weren't sure about ordering so it took some time. I asked for utensils which I had to ask for a second time. My plate got dirty from the salad so I asked for a clean plate -- which I also had to ask for a second time. Chef did not put on a show like the chefs at other tables -- he just cooked (the show is part of the experience). Since we know the restaurant, we would go again, but if service the next time is as disappointing, that will be the last time we dine there.
