Osaka Japanese Cuisine
In 1969 Sam and Aiko Nakanishi opened the first Japanese restaurant in Las Vegas and named it after their hometown, Osaka. Located just off the strip, it became a local favorite.
Thirty years later their daughter Joy opened the Summerlin location spreading Las Vegas's favorite flavors of Japan to the newest part of town. Drawing on the well-established tradition of quality the restaurant was an immediate success.
Please enjoy the multicultural experience she and her staff are proud to share.
Food took a really long time but the service was great. It was also freezing in there!
It was very good, my daughter was surprised except the salad was drowning from the ginger dressing
Calvin was awesome and we had a great time!
The food was absolutely disgusting. The service was great. No fresh seafood at all
Very good food and service
Service was nice. -Chef was fun and engaging -Food was good and had value menu for two that was nice
Server missed one entre, so we ate apart. Fish was not very good quality.
The restaurant was practically empty, but we were ignored for the majority of the time we were there. Waited so long for someone to come check on us to get a fork that the food got cold. In my opinion the portion sizes seem to have reduced, but the prices were recently raised and are hand written in sharpie on the menu. I loved this place and used to recommend highly to my friends and coworkers. My recent dinner experience there was the last time I’ll walk into the building. I can go elsewhere for free to get ignored. I’m not paying for that kind of treatment.
The best and only thing about here is the head chef named Joseph. He was amazing. Talented. and the food tasted the best ! We waited a while to be seated however. And I would’ve appreciated being acknowledged at least with a hello until we got our table , instead of being ignored by the people working there ….
But as I said, that head chef Joseph ? - THE BEST !!!!!
The place would be nothing without him
Avoid at all costs. Waited 1 hr to get miso soup. The quality of the food was bad. The place is grimy. The sauces were terrible (who serves a mayo based sauce with Habachi?). Stomach hurt after dinner.
Delicious our hibachi chef was great better than Benihana‘s
They are seriously under staffed and the service is terrible. It takes way too long to receive what we ordered. I would not recommend the Summerlin location at all. There is no care to this location. Don’t use the bathroom it’s disgusting and unsanitary
Khasey was awesome!!! So funny and very welcoming!
Nice ! The cook wasn’t really welcoming but i adore Ocean
Great dinner !
Food took a long time. We had a party of of 9 and they told us they can only split the check 4 ways. They gave us no warning or indication that they did this prior to us sitting. Food was good though.
The only plus to this whole experience before we arrived when we had to make an adjustment to our reservation. When we arrived it took 30 minutes after our reservation time to get sat at the table. Once we were sat it was another 45 minutes until the chef showed up and there was another table that was sat 20 minutes after us that started cooking before ours. The waitress never came to check on drinks or ask if we wanted a second round of drinks. As for our food it was all bland and just marginal. Once we were finished it took 20 minutes to get the bill as our waitress never came to check how the meal was. I have tried several restaurants like this throughout the valley and will never be going back here. I would not recommend it either to anyone else.
I took my wife to this restaurant for a nice date night. It was moderately quiet, not noisy so we could hear each other speak. The food was amazing. We will definitely be going back.
My Husband and daughter one of the first times together been there before and it was very fun it was dinner and a show and the show was wonderful you’re right the Teppan Yaki room
We love the sushi here. The raspberry lemon drop martini is pretty amazing too!!
The service is always top notch and the food is delicious! Can't go wrong!
Service was poor even though it was not crowded. We got our food before getting our drinks. We didn’t see our original server again after taking our order until we were ready for our check. We had to ask several times for another drink including water.
It was very quite no people out reservation was at closing time
I came here on Wednesday, March 24th for my birthday. We only saw our server twice - to take our drink order and to take our food order. We were never checked on. We waited maybe 45 minutes for our three sushi rolls. 6:30PM, we asked for refills and a fork to the busser who delivered our food and we didn't see the busser again. I got ONE Diet Coke and did not get a refill ONCE while eating. I had to suffer through my spicy tuna without any beverage. It was almost torture.
When Ocean came back to give us our check and apologized for not checking on us, I expressed we never got a refill. Ocean was polite and nice and gave me a "refill" but it was half way filled. Who refills a cup half way?
The sushi rolls barely had any fish in them and the rolls were thin. I won't be back. Never got to ask for any sauces. I was going to order their creme brulee but left after not getting any service.
Service is friendly, but always a little slower.
Oh my goodness! The food was extremely good! Joe, the chef, was great entertainment! Our food was bomb dignity! Will definitely come again when in town.
The chef was excellent Thank you Calvin he cooked everything just right and very taste full.
Wonderful food. Great entertainment by chef.
This was the first time in a long time at Osaka, and it was fine for myself and my son. The food was good, not outstanding, but that is understandable, considering how much effort the hibachi chef has to do to take care of 8 or so people at the grill, all with different menu items. I did not remember how noisy the place is, but that I guess is normal, as the restaurant was quite busy. I was fun for a change to dine differently, but it may be a while before we do this again.
Our reservation was at 6:00 and we waited 1.5 hours for the teppanyaki chef who was the only one scheduled.
I should have requested for him to use soy sauce on my food. The garlic butter was different but not preferred.
Service sucked. I left, didn’t bother eating there.
Phenomenal! Absolutely delicious. Much better than Benihana
Great food. The service was horrible. We never got offered waters and our waiter disappeared until we were in the middle of being served. Didn’t get salad or soup appetizers until we were almost done with our meals.
Great food and great service. We’ll be back very soon!
This is a favorite place for my wife and I. We've been coming here since we were dating. Now we're married with a kid. Unfortunately, our babysitter bailed on us last minute recently and we took our 2 year old with us on date night. Everyone was sweet to my kid from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Even the chef was nice to my daughter. This will be a favorite in our household for years to come.
All of the staff were so nice and on top of everything. The Hibachi Chef was so kind and funny, it really took our experience to the next level. When me and my husband were leaving they even gave us an adorable gift bag for Valentine’s Day that had some sweets inside. We had such a great time! We will be back!
It was AMAAAAAAZIIIING the chef was the best part! From his personality to his performance to his cooking skills just totally A1
Everything was amazing felt a little rushed but it was Valentine's Day.
They Gave really cute gift bags after dinner that was a plus
Had my 20th Anniversary. We had the place to our selves for most of the night. The chef was a lot of fun. Food as great. We will we back soon
We’ve been to this Osaka’s multiple time, but this will be our last!!!
The service we received from Ocean was terrible, from forgetting to bring out our appetizer, to her non-apology or not bringing it out, to our drink glasses being empty it was terrible.
The food wasn’t that good & for what ever reason as we had the same cook we had 3 weeks ago.
Then to top it off, after dinner we were sitting there talking and talking to others at another station Mike, the manager asked us to leave so someone could sit because they were overbooked. So come in and spend good money on so-so food with bad service & leave as soon as you’re done.
NEVER AGAIN & I recommend others stay away.
