Osaka Japanese Cuisine
In 1969 Sam and Aiko Nakanishi opened the first Japanese restaurant in Las Vegas and named it after their hometown, Osaka. Located just off the strip, it became a local favorite.
Thirty years later their daughter Joy opened the Summerlin location spreading Las Vegas's favorite flavors of Japan to the newest part of town. Drawing on the well-established tradition of quality the restaurant was an immediate success.
Please enjoy the multicultural experience she and her staff are proud to share.

This is a favorite place for my wife and I. We've been coming here since we were dating. Now we're married with a kid. Unfortunately, our babysitter bailed on us last minute recently and we took our 2 year old with us on date night. Everyone was sweet to my kid from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Even the chef was nice to my daughter. This will be a favorite in our household for years to come.
All of the staff were so nice and on top of everything. The Hibachi Chef was so kind and funny, it really took our experience to the next level. When me and my husband were leaving they even gave us an adorable gift bag for Valentine’s Day that had some sweets inside. We had such a great time! We will be back!
It was AMAAAAAAZIIIING the chef was the best part! From his personality to his performance to his cooking skills just totally A1
Everything was amazing felt a little rushed but it was Valentine's Day.
They Gave really cute gift bags after dinner that was a plus
Had my 20th Anniversary. We had the place to our selves for most of the night. The chef was a lot of fun. Food as great. We will we back soon
We’ve been to this Osaka’s multiple time, but this will be our last!!!
The service we received from Ocean was terrible, from forgetting to bring out our appetizer, to her non-apology or not bringing it out, to our drink glasses being empty it was terrible.
The food wasn’t that good & for what ever reason as we had the same cook we had 3 weeks ago.
Then to top it off, after dinner we were sitting there talking and talking to others at another station Mike, the manager asked us to leave so someone could sit because they were overbooked. So come in and spend good money on so-so food with bad service & leave as soon as you’re done.
NEVER AGAIN & I recommend others stay away.
Food was amazing! Sushi is super fresh and always delicious
We went for my daughters birthday. We were shocked that we practically had the restaurant to ourselves! Food was awesome as usual. They finally had the Chilean sea bass in the menu ( they were out the last 4 times I went).
They may say we do not accept any Groupons right now .... but they have the same specials you used to find in Groupon on their menu.
We will definitely be coming back again.
As always the food was good & the hibachi cook was great & entertaining, but one of my pet peeves is having my glass go empty and it happened several times.
The sushi is the best. Always fresh and delicious!
Service was terrible. I’ve never been to a hibachi restaurant where I only saw the waitress one time. Because she was too busy taking care of her other tables! I felt racial profiled because her other tables where all people Caucasian and our table where black. We had empty cups. No refill was given until the end. Horrible service.
Good food. Appetizers didn't come til after entree alittle pricier than ohjah
Chef was very funny and lightened the atmosphere. Food could’ve been a little more... seasoned.. but it was good overall. Everything was good overall.
Good food. Slow service. We were immediately seated but it took a while for someone to tend to our table. They were short staffed. Sam was an amazing and funny chef. Made our long wait worth while.
Great service. The gentleman who was the host was very nice, nice personality and accommodating. Food was tasty, Good value. Quality ingredients and great Hibachi grill cooks. The alcoholic drinks were on point.
This was an awful experience. There was no social distancing, the restaurant was not operating with reasonable Covid-19 precautions.
I usually have a good experience dining at Osaka but this was the worst experience. Our reservation was at 8. We were called around 5:30 and asked due to a hibachi table being out of order to move our reservation to 7:30 and we said that was okay. We arrived and were seated at 7:30. We sat for 15 minutes before a waitress asked for our drink order. At 7:50 our drinks arrived and the hibachi cook. Our dinner came with a soup and salad and these did not get served to us until after our hibachi meal. The hibachi cook maybe spent 5 minutes with us and seemed in a hurry. We were barely checked on so we just finished our meal and requested our check. Our check came with extra drinks charged so we then had to wait for the waitress to finally check on us to dispute the check. The whole experience felt rushed and we might as well have been at a fast food restaurant for how quickly we dined.
This restaurant offers a wide array of sushi as well as a hibachi grill. We especially enjoyed the fried rice - the sushi was pretty good as well. The service was prompt and professional. Of note, if you order the mussels, it will take a little time as they bake them.
Very friendly staff. Our server was very nice and attentive and our cook was fun and engaging. And the food was very fresh . I definitely plan on bringing my family and friends next time.
Sam was great and very entertaining! Definitely made it fun for our family night out.
The quality of the food is always exceptional. But what makes our experience at Osaka Japanese Cuisine is the service. Sam is the best cook! And we love all the servers. We highly recommend this family friendly, well organized, clean, & safe restaurant!
Fun time! My son loved it. Hibachi chef was entertaining. Food was pretty decent. Been coming to Osaka for years. Be back soon!
The menus was quite small, with not a lot of choices. Prices were higher than expected, the server was fantanic.
The food was gross. Very bland
Awful service! I’ve never been at a restaurant that wouldn’t replace a drink if you did not like it. Not only did I have to order a separate drink they charged for both. Waiter was awful
Good service good food
we were surprised by the patrons who didn't wear their masks enough. The groups at the hibachi tables did not practice social distancing. The food and service were great, though. I just wish they more carefully enforced health safety issues.
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday, it was his first time at a teppanyaki restaurant and Osaka was perfect! Our cook Sam made him feel extra special during his cooking performance. Dinner was amazing, meat was perfect and we even tried one of the sushi rolls which was really impressive too. On our way out we stopped by the bar and they even gave him a free Sake shot. This was our first time here but definitely not our last, Thank you Osaka!
Osaka provides a very reliable product and experience.
Have been to Osaka on S. Eastern many times . Moved to Summerlin recently and expected the same service. Boy was I wrong. The waitress lacked serious attentiveness. Our drinks were mostly empty and when I finally got her attention to fill my glass she ONLY filled mine and left. Then 50 minutes after we arrived to our reservation did we get our first order. And they weren’t busy. There was 1 other top with customers and 1 hibachi in use. I will never be returning to this location
Food mediocre and music was too loud.
Great place. We go every time we visit Las Vegas!!
Birthday dinner for daughter-in-law
It was a terrific dinner. My wife and I had a great time. Sam was our chef. He’s amazing! And Ocean was our server. What a team!!!
We have a lot of Japenese steakhouses where we’re from so this was pretty similar. It was a great experience and value but for some reason the restaurant is extremely hot and not because the grills are going it was just really hot in general.
Birthday dinner
Spent 2times the price of a all you can eat- spent $120
Wile a all you can eat costs $65.00 for 2 people
Eh- this was just ok. They weren’t great at social distancing, so we moved from hibachi to our own table. I’ve been to the original location and it’s wonderful. Summerlin felt like it doesn’t get the same TLC. The furniture is worn, the chairs don’t match, my menu was greasy, and people were seated too close together COVID or not. I was looking for a more traditional Japanese atmosphere like at the other location, and this felt like sloppy hibachi. Do yourself a favor and skip this location and go to the other.
Restaurant did not have paper/disposable menus and the ones we were provided I didn't see being sanitized.
Absolutely phenomenal service.
