Osaka Japanese Cuisine
The sushi selection and quality was excellent
Always great food and great value. Wide variety of options.
Really nothing special besides the very positive ratings I’ve read here before booking my table
Service was great. Cook at our table was fantastic and quite funny.
My experience at Osaka was not a memorable occasion, the service was very horrible and frustrating. The food at Osaka is very pleasing to the palette and the sushi is a favorite of ours but even incredible food cannot hide terrible service. On 4 occasions I requested beverages from the staff member assisting my party and never received the drinks, i had to take it upon myself to venture to the bar and grab the drinks that were requested. The staff member that was assisting us seemed as if they had to much on their plate that evening and it showed severely. Next the items that I ordered from the hibachi menu for dinner seemed to had been forgotten somehow and i had to reorder while everyone at our table dined. We have dined at Osaka on other occasions and received top notch service, but the hibachi experience this past we just endured was an eye opener that maybe we should patronize Osaka’s competition where the staff is better equipped.
Osaka is easy to get to from the 95 or Summerlin Parkway. There is ample parking and the restaurant is quite large.
When you choose hibachi for your dining style, unless your party size is 8, you will be sharing a grill with other diners which can be fun. It can also cause delays when people at your table run late.
The flow of this mean is somewhat out of sync. You place your order and then it's about 30 minutes before your chef arrives at the table to create your meals. Once the chef does arrive, things are moving and the entertainment by the chef begins.
The food is okay. The scallops I had were flavored wonderfully but could have used a little butter finish. The lobster was just okay, maybe a citrus butter finish would have changed my opinion. The soup and salad that come with each meal are just okay. The shrimp and chicken entrée that my mom had, the shrimp were done to perfection however the chicken was well overcooked.
We did not stay for dessert as the chairs were so uncomfortable that my mom (who has back issues) had to leave as soon as the meal was finished.
This was my 2nd time to Osaka. My experience was 100% different from my first time in a positive way. We were using a groupon and the server was wonderful in her explanation of what we could and couldn't order or pay extra for. I applaude the restaurant for correcting their past mistakes and for a fun dinner allowing for plenty of time, I recommend them.
Food quality and taste average at best. Service good.
Good meal and great service at Osaka! We will definitely be back.
For Joe's first day he did pretty well and I go there pretty often and I would definitely want him to cook for me again.
The food was delicious. The red snapper was very tasty. My son and I had hibachi and loved it. The service was friendly, accommodating, and timely.
Fun place with good food, great place to take the family
Bought a groupon for a dinner for 6. It said it covered meal and drink up $32. Only had 2 options at that. When ordering something above that price they have a $10 dollar upcharge per guest for that item and then whatever the difference is above the original $32.
This food was fresh, the wait staff inviting and the cocktails exciting. We'll likely come back. They've dona a great job with the space but would recommend a higher end artwork, lighting and seating design to make you forget you are in a strip mall.
Fun! Food and service was great!
Very good happy hour hibachi dinner on Monday and Tuesday. Will return to try other food items in the future.
Good bye dinner with friends. Food was very good as was service. Noise was high which made conversation difficult at times.
Awesome food. Great customer service. Very clean.
Very good experience, as always everything was great!
We were very disappointed in the atmosphere. The chef/cook, did not interact with us at all. I was especially shocked by the fact that, when I had ordered a fillet mignon medium rare, and the gentleman next to me ordered, two fillet mignons also medium rare, the chef/cook, proceeded to cook them all together and then cut them up ALL TOGETHER, and then, divvied it up, and GAVE THE MAJORITY TO THE GUY NEXT TO ME, and I got about 5 morsels. The fillet mignon was suppose to be the highlight of my meal. Then, approaching the end of our meal, there was absolutely NO MENTION OF MY WIFE'S BIRTHDAY, which is the reason we went there in the first place. Not good. We will not return.
Service was terrible, waited 1.5 hours, came back with reservation. Was seated immediately but waited 30 minutes for salad and soup then 30 more for a cook. Food tasted bland, cook was in a hurry.
This place was simply amazing. They make you feel right at home. Everyone was super friendly I seriously can not wait to go back. Made our honeymoon so much more special.
It was excellent!
Worst service we’ve had in a very long time. If it wasn’t for the fact we didn’t have time to go to another restaurant we would of left. Had to ask 3 different people for silverware the chef was putting food on the plate and had nothing to eat it with. Took forever to get our drinks and the chef was kind of generic with his table presence. We would not recommend Osaka to anyone.
Was a wonderful experience and we will be dining again when we are in town.
Loved it. Great food. Had the filet but would order steak and chicken next time as u get a lot more food. Service was gret as well
The food was really good. Had the shrimp and chicken hibachi. The salad given to me was some cucumber and carrots. No lettuce all. It was served in a tiny tiny bowl. Other tables got real salad. The entree said it came with salad. I don’t understand why we got a small bowl of garnish. We had a Groupon so the price was reasonable. Otherwise it’s a little pricey. Good service other than having to ask 3 times for a fork.
We always have a good time at Osaka. We actually had the entire table to ourselves so dinner didn't take more than an hour. Food is delicious. Service could use a little work, I had to ask twice for a fork. Chef is always entertaining. A Good Time.
Went afternoon and they didnt have Hibachi so I leave
Every time I go, I love it. Food is so good. More Saki!!!
I went steering 130pm, there was no one there. Our service was great and so was the food. The spicy edamame was the best part. I will definitely go back
WTF....THE WORST TIME EVER!!!! PLZ READ ALL,
Unfortunately we choose this location tonight to try the new HOV I15 TO I95 N.
From Henderson I know irrelevant to the case lol
We got our spot on the hibachi grill table the two last spots it was not with confort to access our chairs ok no big deal. But the lease of the cons
No cloth napkins.
Sup just luke warm.
Red wine was dead the server switched to a beer.
We got shrimp &chicken $32 each...
One small bowl of fried rice to share .
Mix veggies good luck if you don't like onions or mushrooms.
Even wrost if you are allergic..
No effort to accomplish any guess needs requests or DIETARY RESTRICTIONS.
but all that is somehow kinda ok...
NOW LEST GET SERIOUS.
The cook ...
Big boy ..."EJ" i thought that was his name
He really was something......
REALLY FUCTUP...HOW SELECTIVE WE WAS WITH THE GUESS ON HIS TABLE....
PS not his anyways.
BIG PROBLEM WENT HE DOES RACIAL DISCRIMINATION N PROFILING .
AND GIVE MOST OF THE FOOD TO THE PEOPLE OF HIS CHOICE.
EVEN OUR FOOD
yeap the others did not order shrimp
But he give then away ..
Even the extra fried rice more than once to his new friends...lol
We ended with this 7 small shrimps and a few little pieces of chicken. ..
First time we finished everything our plate..
Thanks to the cook boy...
OSAKA YOU FAIL BIG TIME...
NO NO EVER AGAIN
PLS LOOK AT THE PICTURE'S
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
LONG WAIT!!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
We had a reservation for 7:00. It was disappointing that we couldn't be seated for another 45 minutes and it would have been nice to be given an advance notice once we got there that there would still be a wait despite having a reservation. Aside from the wait, the food was fantastic and the hibachi chef (Ken) was great. He was funny and genuinely seemed to love doing what he does. My husband and two friends both greatly enjoyed it as well, and would love to come back. The price point is about where it should be for food of its quality, and having a Groupon also is a great idea for this place.
Had a 5 o clock reservation. Got seated at 5:30. Then waited until 6 when they seated another party at our Grill before taking orders.
Thank you made my father in law’s birthday special...
Always use the Groupon and go usually 1-2 times monthly , excellent deal when you use the Groupon and worth it. Ther service and food is always great, and you will have plenty of food so come very hungry.
Great food and great service. Would definitely recommend.
This place serves great food at a good value. We did regular dining vs. hibachi. It’s a fun, family-friendly place. We will definitely be back
Food and service were awesome !
In all fairness, we went on Easter Sunday at 5 pm. So the ambiance isn't really applicable. Staff was very friendly and the service was perfect. The dinner show was very good, even though he only had an audience of four.
Food was ok at best. I ordered a filet, but it was marbled with gristle and fat (normally not in a filet). My friend ordered filet and lob. and he got maybe three pieces of lobster. For the price, I expected more and better. Also, salad dressing was awful and Mai Tai had nothing tropical about it. Pretty boring.
Again, in all fairness, I'm comparing Osaka to Matsu, an amazing Japanese food restaurant in Huntington Beach, CA. Not fancy, in a strip mall. Still, the ratings on Osaka were 4-5 stars and I was disappointed.
