Orzo Kitchen & Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
We were getting together with close friends for a weekday dinner. Greeted warmly and served in a timely fashion. The mahi fish special with caper sauce, cauliflower puree, roasted cauliflower and potatoes was outstanding. Each time we visit, Chef Adam Spaar out does himself. We will return soon.
The waitress payed us no attention for the first good bit we were there. When she took our drink order, we also gave her our main course. The specialty mixed drinks, complimentary bread w/hummus and main course pasta arrived essentially at the same time. Not good. Service was less than par and the meal was ok. Clearly not what a local prominent chef who recommended it had in mind. That was a while ago though.
This is a nice place near downtown Charlottesville, headed for dinner there before we made the UVA football game. Very cozy, nice atmosphere. Bread is awesome, and hollumi cheese a real hit for an appetizer. Salmon entrée nice (and large). Others had pasta and were happy.
Very pleasant and cozy place! I liked the atmosphere of the place and the staff was friendly and attentive. The menu is small and among the four of us we each found something that pleased our individual palates. The food was delicious, unique and beautifully presented! We will definitely come back here again!
Made a reservation for 6:30, walked in and was showed to our table. Very intimate setting that was just perfect. We were in Greece this summer and the art work on the walls reminded us of your trip. Started with a cocktail and draft beer that were both delicious. Pork Shoulder Empanada as an appetizer. Rack of lamb and Spaghetti Pescatore as entrees. Everything was perfect and our waitress (Emily G.) was incredible. Extremely knowledgeable and attentive. Sorry we did not take pictures. Take my word that the presentation was great, we just wanted to enjoy the moment.
Passing through Charlottesville and a great place for a delicious lunch and a glass of wine. The Risotto was delicious, with all fresh, flavorful ingredients. The wait staff were attentive and courteous, but also showed familiarity with the menu and wine list. The portions were plentiful, but not overwhelming so. The ambiance was soothing, low lighting and easy to enjoy good conversation as the noise level was low. I would definitely dine here in the future.
Excellent find in Downtown Charlottesville, where competition is everywhere! We booked via Open Table and had a great experience! We were seated promptly. Menu had lots of great choices with local ingredients. Handcrafted cocktails were delicious! Service was excellent, and atmosphere was lively and inviting. We were in town for the weekend and ended up eating there two nights in a row! Give it a try!
We have been to Orzo a couple of times and find it comfortable and reliable. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and wines. The manager is very efficient and pleasant. It is not overly noisy so you can have a decent conversation at your table without having to yell or miss what you friends are saying. Worth the price, very good.
