Orzo Kitchen & Wine Bar
Food was to die for, service was great, and I always love the atmosphere. One of my favorites!! Leftovers of the bolognese were even better (don’t know how that was possible — it was so good when we dined!!) for lunch the next day.
It was very busy and yet the service was outstanding! The food was delicious as well. We are fans!
Exceptional food, as always. The tuna special was truly outstanding, pairing beautifully with the extraordinary wine we selected from their excellent list.
DELICIOUS..hard to find a mediocre dish there. Everything was excellent
Wonderful, as always.
We had a great meal with friends from out of town. The food was terrific as always, and our server was friendly and helpful. She even wrote down all the ingredients of one of the dishes we had so our friend could try to recreate it!
Your severs our terrific. Sold us a great wine. Food, as always was excellent. Keep up the good work.
This restaurant is not to be missed. Hands down, our favorite C’ville eatery!
Found online in Charolettesville area my wife and I have not tried. Nice location.Food was delicious and server help pair the wine to our dishes and appetizers. Service was great and attentive. It was a cold night and was sat to table right next to the door. Made a reservation and was not too busy, thought we be in the back. That would be my only compliant. That will not stop my wife and I to come back in enjoy restaurant and will be back.
business dinner meeting at Orzo; outstanding service, food, and setting; even with a large number of other guests, it was easy to converse and the noise level was acceptable. Outstanding value.
Great food. Great service. We have eaten here many times. Always first class food with reasonable prices
Consistently great food. Local farm to table menu. Great cocktails.
Had a lovely dinner here the other night. For a Sunday they were moderately busy but nothing lacked. Atmosphere was nice but kitchen was little loud and music was more trendy than expected. Would be a nice environment to dine with friends. Food was awesome. We ordered the brushetta, salmon, bolognese and sides of broccoli and fries. Really enjoyed each dish and had a star server. Cooper was attentive, quick and enjoyable to chat with. We will definitely make another reservation on our next trip to Charlottesville and will be sure to recommend to any of our friends travelling to the area.
We went early Sunday evening after an afternoon concert at UVA. We made a reservation on Open Table and got a very nice corner table in the bar area. Despite being near the bar, it was pleasantly quiet. The service, food, and atmosphere were outstanding!
Really excellent food!!!!
Great food, service was top notch and the ambiance cannot be beat....I find the prices fair...
Can be hit or miss. Food is almost always very good. Service can be really haphazard (and definitely was lacking this time) and ambiance, too -- in this case we were seated by an open door and it was cold.
The food was very good. The service was horrible. The waitress acted like we were an inconvenience for her. She didn’t even get a drink order till after the food came out. She was extremely short and unprofessional...her customer service needs a lot of improvement.
Excellent food — lovely menu would highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality meal.
We enjoyed a delicious, creative dinner to celebrate a birthday. Our server was awesome as was the manager - they care and assure the experience will be first-class in every way.
Good food and wine, not so much for privacy.
Tight quarters for such good quality. Literally sitting on top of each other, did not make for a pleasant experience.
The food and ambience were amazing! This is my third time visiting and it never disappoints
Food and service was excellent
It was awesome! Food was amazing!
It was a beautiful dining experience! The food was amazing, the drinks were tasty, and the service was outstanding. Our waitress was amazing !!
Our server, Juliana, was absolutely excellent. Helpful and friendly. A major part of a great night. Generally not a fan of the set price coursed menus, as it can be a bit prohibitive in pricing, but I understand it, and the large number of options was admittedly very nice.
Mussels were amazing! The salmon entree with puréed sweet potatoes and Brussel sprouts were superb! One of my favorite places in Charlottesville
Everyone was thrilled w the food and the wine!
We love Orzo. The food is excellent every time we go and the wait staff is so friendly and professional.
Just delicious entrees and desserts!
Best pork chop I've ever had...excellent wine and wonderful service.
Excellent value. Seating was a little tight but not bad.
Great service, top line cocktail and wine selection. Menu is very well thought out, great selection of all the proteins and pasta. We will return
As always, delicious and great service! Pomadoro with salad is my comfort food meal any day!
Wonderful food - definitely do not like being seated in the “loft.” It is crowded, noisy, bad lighting, and understandably slow on serving.
We had a fabulous meal here while visiting UVA with my teenage son. The food was as good as anything we've had in LA or in our many travels. Highlights were the fennel salad, halloumi cheese, lamb shank and bolognese. Wine list was broad and not overpriced. Cocktail and wine ordered were generous pours. My only complaint was that we arrived when the outside temperature was about 18 degrees. Despite a number of free tables and booths in the cozy main room, the host tried to seat the 3 of us at a 2'x2' bar table right near the front door where cold air was coming in despite curtains hung around it. They had not even tried to put 2 of the bar tables together (and my son is 6'2"). When we asked for a table in the dining room we got an aloof eye roll and a "If that's what you want..." Our waitress was fantastic, but the guy at the door was unwelcoming and looked like he'd rather be 100 other places. I felt like leaving before seated (there are many great restaurants in Charlottesville), but the food made me glad I stayed.
Food and drinks were great! Nice selection of wines and cocktails, although there aren’t many beers (fine dining and all that jazz). We went during restaurant week 2019 and it was an amazing value! $29 for three courses so it was still not too expensive after drinks!
Food and wine exceptional. Great value for Restaurant week.
Service was ok at best. Ordered a second bottle of wine....never showed up.
The service started off well enough, but it was Restaurant Week, of which I am always suspicious, since high-level restaurants frequently drop off a little in quality to be able to offer discounted tickets to customers who usually don't go to restaurants or have never tried a particular one. In this case, the tuna appetizer was flavored nicely, but the tuna should have been rare, close to raw, but instead was cooked through. The mixed lettuce salad was nice, but how can you go wrong? The braised lamb shank, though, was marvelous, on a kind of soupy orzo with a nice citrus flavor. Excellent. The waiter was a little oppressive, always coming by in the middle of my conversation to ask if everything was "delicious" (as if to put words in my mouth). It was annoying. IMHO a waiter might come around once to make sure that the food is what was ordered and prepared to request. It is not the waiter's job to push onto the customer the acknowledgement that the food is "delicious." I ordered dessert, a tiramisu that was pleasant but not authentic and not fluffy enough. There was no espresso machine, and the drip coffee was standard. Overall, a very nice time, I like this restaurant in general, but wish the waiter had been a little less intrusive.
