Had not been to Ortega 120 in several years and I’m happy to say, the food, atmosphere and margaritas were even better than I remember! Exceptional cuisine!!
Celebrating my daughters 25th birthday
Good Mexican food. Great margaritas
I made a reservation for 4 adults. As soon as I checked in, they seated us immediately. The server was quick, attentive and anticipated our needs. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! We had a great time!
Great tasting upscale Mexican cuisine without being too pretentious. The service, though extremely friendly, can be a bit sluggish. However, I've never had a bad meal. The decor is 100% committed to a dia de los muertos theme which I love. A must try.
I loved the Dia de las Muertas decor and they had many food choices for everyone - meat lovers, vegetarians and vegan. The chips and salsa were very good. The Margaritas were fresh and good. The food portion sizes were just right with a bit to take home. The place is very loud, and a bit dark for reading the menu, but it was so much fun looking around that I didn't care. I would definitely go back.
Our recent visit to Ortega 120 to celebrate our daughter's birthday was great. Super service and delicious food. Love going there!
The food was fabulous, and we loved our waiter. Great margaritas ((we got the pitcher) and I loved the chile relleno duo! Friends ordered the enchiladas with mole, and raved about them.
O-120 has and always will be one of my top Mex restaurants. Their food, their appetizer and their horchata are to die for. Every time we dine at O-120, service is up to par, the food is delicious, and the ambiance is energetic. Recommend!!!
Fun place with good food. As of late, the parking has been getting difficult. Yoga class Friday nights, 5 - 6. Takes all of the parking. Had to circle for 15 minutes in the structure to find someone pulling out. We find it best in early afternoon. fewer people and a nice quiet atmosphere. Dinner time, you have to sit right next to one another to hear each other speak. Carpet is not recommended for restaurants, but it would go a long way to quiet things down.
Food was ok. Not amazing, like usual. I actually think I got sick from the 9 Year Nachos.
Even the margarita pitcher was meh.
This is a great place to experience quirky, tasty "mexican-esque" cuisine. The chile relleno is delicious, as are the street tacos and carnitas.
You absolutely have to make a reservation though. If you don't have one, the pretty hostesses are cold and impregnable. But they will fawn all over you if your name is on their list. And the staff will herd you out as quickly as they can, but they will be polite about it and do it all with a smile. So, enjoy the food and find some entertainment in the trendy, "teenager" staff!
Food was good. I enjoyed the Posole, although it usually is not served with Shreded pork.
The Cuban burger was awesome and the Pig tacos were as well. The guacamole was okay, needed a little more flavor. Service was good too.
Food was good, the chicken mole enchiladas were very good. Great margaritas !!!
It was nice. Very loud, good food, service was weird. They were very prompt then just left us for an hour after they gave us the dessert menu. I go there for the food.
Excellent margaritas, homemade titillasse chips and tacos. The Brussels sprout and ham tacos were great! Love the ambiance and decor.
No acknowledgement of parents anniversary even though I put it down on the reservation
Service was okay. Had to keep asking for water. Food was okay. A bit overpriced but I get that you are paying extra for the ambiance. Drinks were good and strong. Table chips were fresh.
It’s extremely loud!! Lol. Good place for those who like to just eat, drink and be merry... just not a place for a date night... unless your into that. :)
Food’s very good. Service that night was great and the Modelo Especial hit the spot
Recommend O-120 for those who like good food, cold beer and your choice of tequila !
Went with a beautiful girl and she enjoyed the food.
The menu is varied and the food is very good. Much better than any chain restaurant and the quality of seafood seems very fresh.
Happy Hour Skinny premium margaritas are just all sour juice and little top notch tequila. Been going there for years and we can’t figure out why their margs are voted so highly. Try Panchos in MB for the best.
Food - they discontinued the best fish on the menu the trout.
Salmon sauce is way overpowering and too sweet
Tacos Pastor are limited on actual filling size.
Still festive and solid food but not our best visit here by far. Not our servers fault completely but overall service was inattentive and not adequate for number of tables. We did not get checked on for quality of food nor 2nd round of drinks. Server was very busy with bigger groups and tables. Margaritas lacked sparkle of other visits. Carne Asada ok but not memorable.
This is my go-to for terrific cocktails and cool atmosphere and for that this visit delivered. My waiter, Eric was excellent. My husband ordered the enchiladas mole which we both loved, however my carne asada was luke warm when it was set down. Which detracted from the overall presentation and experience. Next visit I will ask that it be hotter.
Ortega is great. The food, the margaritas, tortillas made in house. Their mole is exceptional.
Absolutely inspired Mexican cuisine. It is our go to place in the South Bay when we need a taste of south of the border. Delicious!
Food was good. Service was terrible. There was was nobody there and it took us 25min to get a drink. The restaurant has potential since their food is really good, they just need to learn how to serve tables properly
A favorite of ours had previous slow service - this last visit was outstanding ! Always excellent food- was even better last night - device was very quick, attentive, exactly as ordered even with some special requests - we’ll done!!!
Service was a little slow but the food was great I would come back. Everyone is friendly
Food is always consistently good here - this time, the service was a little lackluster. Not bad, just that our server seemed to be bored and not too friendly.
Loved the décor and vibe at Ortega 120. Hot chips and salsa were delicious and the pork tacos and brussel sprouts dish with pumpkin seeds and cotija cheese was divine! Would come back for that dish alone!!! On less stellar notes...michelada was lacking and the enchiladas were ok not bad but just ok. Can't wait to come back with friends and sample a few more dishes.
Had a great experience! Food was excellent, service was top of the line with Jesus! Definitely visiting again!
First timers, but will return with a group of friends! Cool place, great food and the drinks were delicious!
Loved it! Will be back soon!
Came for lunch on a recommendation. Food was really good, even better than expected. Best Mexican food that I’ve had in LA.
this was our first time at Ortega 120 and it certainly met my expectation. I always look at menus of restaurants new to me when I book and the tour de taco really interested me and it did not disappoint. Each taco was simply crafted and tasted amazing. We ordered guacamole and when it did not come, before our entrees, they brought it anyway and comped it. This is how restaurants should treat their customers. We had the churros for dessert. they were excellent, but for 3 4 inch churros, we thought $7.50 was a bit pricey compared to the cost of entrees. We will go back.
We keep coming back over and over and over again. Elevates Mexican cuisine--pure pleasure!
I really enjoy my dining experience and it was very comfortable. I really recommend this restaurant to my family and friends. I love that it is very traditional and it has famous pictures of my Mexican culture.I would definitely come back to dine in and enjoy with my family and friends.
The kale salad was delicious I don’t regret my choice at all.
