Ortanique on the Mile
Very good food,service and ambiance!
Friday night dinner with family at Ortanique was as expected. Delicious Appetizers, main course & dessert. Great service. Always a good meal!
Ortanique is our favorite Coral Gables restaurant hands down.
We sat outside; very pleasant.
The special dish-grouper-wasn’t as tasty as I would have liked, but it was fine.
Delicious food and great service. All the time.
Great food and attentive service. Highly recommended.
A great fusions of Latin and Caribbean food. Frequent often and always walk way impressed by food and service.
Ortanique is fantastique!
Every dish was delicious and service with a smile.
Birthday dinner. Their Corvina , crab cakes and Martinis
I selected the price fixed menu and everything was delicious. My husband had the grouper which was also perfect. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine. Also perfect.
We attended a show at the theater next door.
Overall a perfect meal and a perfect evening.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
The service was excellent as well
Despite the lackluster service we received from our main waitress, we had an enjoyable meal due to the well prepared fare, which managed to combine comfort food with refined, Caribbean-inspired touches. A distraction was the table of selfie-snapping family Kardashian wannabes next to us, but they breezed in and out after appetizers to wherever their next reality TV appointment was.
Waiter needs more training. Nice and courteous but not a good waiter.
Not as good as usual. Slow service and plated food did not look as fresh and beautiful as previous experience.
Always a great meal
Recently revisited this Caribbean Fusion cuisine spot and I have been to its sister restaurant in Cayman. Decor seemed unchanged from our last visit years ago. The menu has a wide variety of Caribbean influenced options, is well situated in the heart of Coral Gables with parking either on the street or in a parking garage behind the restaurant. Its decor is nice with orange themed frescoes and they had Bob Marley music in the background
The positives: I really enjoyed the Tuna Tartare and the Scallops (served on coconut rice with side of bok choy) topped off with a dessert - sticky toffee pudding. Plating was interesting and varied with some barely fitting our table. The signature cocktails and the cocktail of the week were refreshing and I enjoyed my Rhum Blur and Mexican Penicillin.
The negatives: The restaurant was only about half full and we could hardly carry on a conversation. Tables are a bit crowded and also fairly close together which doesn't help. It really detracted from the experience and as a result I wouldn't go there for a quiet romantic dinner. Service was haphazard (we got the wrong menu for another day, they didn't bring the cocktail menu and we had to ask for it, 15 minutes to get a drink (not a busy night as I mentioned before), etc.. I had the feeling this place may be resting on its past laurels and its renowned chef and could be losing its edge. A friend told me after I was there they had over 20 health inspection violations in late January that they did correct promptly but were issued a warning. The small space of the restaurant and bar I'm sure contributes to the challenges they have. There was a certain "tired" feeling about the place and less attention to detail than we remembered.
To summarize, the food was very tasty, and if you don't mind the noise a great spot to entertain visitors.
Excellent service, food and ambiance. The food was very tasty and presentation was awesome. Service time was excellent
Most tender beef tenderloin, and the best meat I’ve ever eaten! Roasted asparagus and mashed potatoes! Ortanique Martini, Wow!
When everything is perfect, there's no need to say anything else. Exquisite, is the word.
Waiter failed to offer desert on price fix lunch then brought acapoavlcino not worthy of Ortanique food was good & we brought an out of fowner with us
we went for our anniversary. We were happy with the food, service and ambience. The best part was the anniversary card that was given to us at dessert. It was a great choice and a great night. We highly recommend this place!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed Ortanique. The food was delicious and beautifully presented!
It has been a long time since the last time a visited this place, it is still an excellent place to dine in Miami, the food and service where excellent.
Good choice of cocktails and a good wine list (the prices are competitive).
Always amazing. Top notch service & friendly staff. The restaurant is a bit understated & stuffy but elegant in a more casual sense. The food is always exquite. One of the best in Miami. Chef Cindy Hustons menu is fabulous & the wine list goes on for pages. Love this place!
Food was good but not nearly as good as the last time (4 years ago) that I visited
Service was not what it should be
Amazing food, never disappoints! The interior is a little dated and could use a refresh.
Great Blackened Chicken Pasta!
Great experience. Great food. Will come back.
It was a busy Valentine's Day night. 45 mins delay was Ok considering the special. Wait at the bar was pleasant. Overall service was regular but I want to believe that was because of the busy night. Food was good but not outstanding. The price was fair considering the overall assessment. Will definitely come back but not for a special celebration night.
Just a lovely Valentine's dinner, perfect food and cocktails. Great service
Ortinique has wonderful food and we have always had excellent service. This past time our server had the personality of a toad and moved as slowly.
Very pleasant dinner. Ortanique was one of the first restaurants the wife and I went to when we first started dating. She loved it. Several years later, I surprised her with another visit for Valentine's Day. The service and food is just as good. She ordered the same plate and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a very busy night, but the staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. Happy wife, happy life. Thank you!
Wife"s favorite restaurant. Good food and varied wine list.
We had reservations for 7:30 and had to wait around an hour to be seated. To be fair it was Valentines Day but I had made the reservation on 1/22 so did not expect to have to wait that long,
It was Valentines Day and Organique accepted more reservations than they could handle without compromising their usually quality service. That is a shame given their food is always very good. The primary problem is that even with our reservation there was a 45 minute wait for a table inside. The place was very hectic with people standing/waiting everywhere. We chose not to wait but rather to sit outside. We were seated right at the street - approximately 2 feet from a handicapped parking spot which people were using as a stop-and-wait spot so... there were constantly people waiting in their running vehicles right next to my seat. Our waiter, who was doing the best that she could, basically told us that the kitchen was VERY busy and there would be a significant wait even for the bread to start our meal. It took about 35 minutes just for bread to be brought to our table. The food was good as always once it finally arrived.
In the future, the management should consider limiting their reservations to ensure their ability to provide a quality experience. Instead, they chose to cram as many paying patrons as possible into their establishment which compromised the quality for all.
Ambience, food and service were excellent, in addition, our server Pedro was very pleasant and professional.
Tables too close together xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
A group of friends ate dinner on Tuesday night. Delicious food and excellent service. Bonus, there is a half off their bottles of wine on Tuesday night. They also have a three course fixed price menu for $31
This restaurant had been operating for many years, no wonder as they have delicious consistent food & service.
So delicious!! Always.
Service was fine but the grouper was way too sweet and overcooked .Tuna was very good. Salads were OK. Over all, just OK.
It had been two years since I ate at Ortanique. I'm glad to say it's still one of the best restaurants in Miami.
