Orso - NYC
Date night with my hubby
Very accommodating to my diet requirements. Fresh and very tasty.
I don’t get it a lot of money and no food
Was expecting something special based on a recommendation. In the end, this was a good place to eat, but similar to many others..
Perfect for before theate4r. Great location. Pleasant ambience. Friendly, efficient service, without being rushed. Selections a bit limited, but the soft shell crabs were quite good. Would most definitely return prior to the theater.
Fabulous! Perfect place to go before or after the theater. Food is outstanding!
We come here all the time before Theater liver is best in the city always a great meal and we can always hear ourselves talk love the restaurant
We loved our experience as always. One of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Food is delicious and consistent. Waiters are so helpful and efficient. They do not rush you at all.
I have been dining at Orso for over 5 years and its consistently OUTSTANDING - great food, service, ambiance!
The restaurant is usually reliable for a good not great dinner. However this time the service was abominable and the food not as good as usual.
Fantastic wait staff. Quiet and easy to talk. Never felt rushed and the food was sensational. We had a great time.
Intimate and fun date night with my husband. Late night dinner after Hamilton. Excellent service, personable and perfectly located.
Most of the time I eat here pre or post theater, but this time I was in the area without a timed event and with out of town guests. Dining during theater hours led to a quieter and more relaxed evening for the staff, and therefore for our group. The food was excellent and staff attentive without being overbearing. Seating further back is a bit quieter and easier on conversation. Will continue to return for excellent Italian food.
Orso has become an 'institution'- like a private club yet always welcoming for the theatre-going
audiences from all over the world. The food is great, the neighborhood filled with the excitement of New York, and the diners many of the creative people who make that all happen.
Orso has long been one of my favorite restaurants in NYC; great food, great service, the occasional celebrity sighting all make for a top notch experience! due to the location, sometimes things can be hectic if you are there during a pre-theatre seating, but that just adds to the fun...and the service never falters even when they are packed!
I love this place.. The food is always quality and not too complicated and you can HEAR - a bit plus
Fresh, light and flavorful. Everything on the menu is outstanding. I can always count on Orso for an excellent dining experience. Next time I’m trying the luver and onions! It looked divine.
Very good food!
Great food and friendly service. We were glad to be at a local place instead of the usual touristy places.
Spectacular salads, and pasta, which is what our table ordered. Timely service pre theatre.
I couldn’t recommend it more highly.
Charming place to eat before or after the theatre. Would definitely go back. Food is excellent.
Cozy atmosphere. Spotty service. Disappointing food. Wish the food quality matched the ambiance - it looks like it should taste good.
Orso clearly caters to the theater crowd. We showed up 45 mins before our reservation and they were great and accommodated us. Our waiter had very little interest in engaging with us. On multiple occasions we needed to repeat ourselves because he wasn’t listening. Turns out it was the end of his shift. When he left and we engaged with other staff, they were personable and attentive. The food was great and the price of the meal with a bottle of wine was a great deal.
I5's one of our favorite restaurants, not only because of its theater-district location but also because
of its tasty and dependable cuisine. We love its delicate thin-crusted pizza and always share a huge
portion of thin-slice calves' liver. Space is tight. I sometimes have to lean in to let waiters pass in the
aisle, and I can't imagine a city fire marshal certifying this establishment. But all in all, the dining
experience is overwhelmingly positive—Orso is a place we always enjoy going to.
Outstanding as always!
Good food and service. Close walk to theatres.
For the money, the convenience, the auality and the staff who are trained to get you comfortably (and not rushed) fed and watered and in your Broadway seat on time, Orso is the best deal in the theatre District. I am eating there two times this week before shows--and I live in Philadelphia. Orso rocks
Still a great choice for pre theater dining. Food was delicious and service was attentive.
We went here after a couple of drinks on a Monday night. Beautiful place. Great ambience and very tasty food with an authentic flavour. Staff were so welcoming. Looks pretty standard from the outside but don’t be fooled; this place is well worth a visit. Liked the fact it didn’t feel remotely touristy despite being so close to Times Sq.
What a wonderful meal we had. I am GF and their GF pats was cooked to perfection! This was our 3rd visit because it is the best GF pasta dinner I have had since I was diagnosed with Celiac 9 years ago. My husband is not GF and he thoroughly enjoyed the regular pasta also. The staff are all so nice! We love this place!! Will be a regular for us every time we get to visit NYC!!
It's an old favorite, and remains just that. I feel like I treat myself to it every once and a while, and it never fails!
GREAT except I prefer larger torn kind of croutons. I know they are homemade but the little cubes look like theycame out of a box.
Went for Easter brunch before a show. Definitely will return! Service, food and atmosphere were excellent.
Great after theater dining
Great food before theater
Our service was very good, as was our food - rigatoni and the fish. The tiramisu was also very good. The one negative was the rhubarb sorbet was nothing like sorbet at all and, frankly, a bit odd and full of indigestible seeds. (Avoid that dessert). The wine we ordered (white and by the glass) was fine, but their wine list by the glass could use some work. Otherwise, it is a pleasant restaurant, in a quiet street, close to all the theaters and we made our curtain with time to spare.
Food and service were excellent. Love the ambiance.
Haven’t been to Orso for many years, but was pleasantly surprised to find it every bit as good as I remembered. The the staff was even friendlier and more welcoming and accommodating than I remembered.
Great pre-theater dinner!
A wonderful restaurant on W 46th (Restaurant Row). Great food, great service. We often go on Monday nights for the special pre fixe menu, but it's lovely any night. Highly recommended for pre- or post-theatre.
