Great Italian restaurant near theaters! Service was excellent and our server was very knowledgeable. We didn’t feel rushed (like some places near the theaters) and the food was outstanding. I’ll definitely eat here again.

We wanted to go to Joe Allen, but didn't reserve in time. Orso is owned by him & reviews were good, so I thought it would be a good substitute for pre-theatre. The menu is very limited. Joe Allen makes a great Caesar salad. They did not have one. Odd salad choices. Only 4 choices for pasta. No specials. Four boring main dishes. The Rigatoni Bolognese was the only pasta I could order. I can make a much better one. So, very disappointed. Will not go back.

It’s an overpriced pre theatre restaurant. The servers were great. Very friendly . Choices were limited . Ambience non existent. They got us in and out with plenty of time. Fine for pre theatre but would not go out of my way to eat there

Much has changed and not for the better. Orso used to be one of the few places in the theater district where one could get a consistently excellent meal in an inviting space. Except for the caprese, the meal was average: mass produced pizza and overcooked pasta. The only bright spot was our server, Tracy. She was efficient, engaging and followed our request to course out the meal. Hopefully it was just an off night for them.

The best Italian place near the Theatre district. Food and drink is outstanding and great value for NYC. After 8 pm it post show. Pizzas are $19 and great bottle of wine $35. Highly recommend !
