We stopped for dinner before a performance at the PAC. There was a nice show night menu which had several selections and options from which to choose. John was a terrific waiter...conscious of our time frame to make the show.
I love this place when I'm feeling like a special treat. The service is always super friendly, and the food is beyond delicious. Parking is always a concern, but if you give yourself a little time and find a spot, you can window shop a lot of neat stores in the vicinity. This is my favorite restaurant in Anchorage, and has been for a long time.
The service was great, ambience was warm, inviting and pleasant. The lamb shank was great, or so says my date who loved it. For the gluten free pasta, I know there are better brands of pasta out there, and I would suggest a change in the brand from what is currently served, pretty please?!. It was pasty.
Love how the person took care of us thank u so much
The overall experience was fantastic. We went there for our anniversary dinner. The food was delicious, the drink were smooth, and the service was prompt and accurate
We were regular customers of Orso from when they first opened, but then the food and service started going downhill. We finally gave it anther chance and we really liked the change and have gone 3-4 times over the last 6 months. This time was not a good experience. I always liked the pace of the serving of the meal, but this time had me wondering if you wanted us in and out. We ordered drinks and before the drinks even came we had our salads delivered. Thought that was not cool. Then before we finished our salads they were trying to serve the entrée. We said we are not finished with our salads, which should have been obvious. The wait person said he would put them under the heat lamp. And I'll be danged if it didn't happen again before my wife finished her salad. We sent it back to be put on hold. I will say when they finally delivered the entrée (after we finished our salads) he said it was freshly made. However, I had the chicken parmesan and while it was tasty the chicken was sort of rubbery. We will probably give it some time before we try it again.
Waiter was excellent and having our own carafe of water was great. Ordered from the special menu of select items where you get an appetizer, entree, and desert for $30 which was a less expensive way to try multiple items which is what we wanted for our first visit. All items were just OK, nothing amazing, but wife ended up sick at the end of the night which is why this rating is poor.
Our waiter was wonderful. We were celebrating my birthday, and he took very good care of us. He knew the menu very well. I will definitely be going back.
The server seemed New or at least very unsure of the menu
Great place to get together with friends. We got a nice table for our group upstairs.
The ORSO Private is located towards the back of ORSO on the first floor of the dining room. It can seat a maximum of 25 people all at one long table. It is a private space with a door at one end, and a red velvet curtain at the other separating it from the dining room.View Private Dining Details
