Wonderful from the moment we walked in. Amazing service, great food and drinks. Will be back soon.
Retirement, bdays combined.
The food was mostly good, other than a $6 loaf of bread that was so “toasty” that it couldn’t be cut without making a giant mess.
The service was a stand out, for how surprisingly bad it was. We had to go looking for a spoon for the soup because one had not been brought with the soup, a desired drink refill didn’t come until just as we were leaving (they generously said they would take it off the bill), and it took ~45 minutes between our appetizer and entree.
This was the first really bad service we have gotten there. Not sure if the good food outweighs the service anymore.
Flank steak was disappoinging , too dry. Food was lukewarm. Mimosa mock tail was so tangy I couldn’t drink more than 25% of it. I had amazing crab legs there once but they s visit left me wishing I stayed home.
Loved the food! Service was outstanding and it was a great place to go.
We waited quite a long time for our food tables that were seated after us hy 20-30 minutes received there food before us. The waiter apologized once but I feel like there should have been more communication. Also the special that evening was not very good, tiny portions for a fairly large price. The halibut lacked flavor and the Quinoa was underdone. So when you wait 75 minutes for your food and it really isn’t that good it is hard to recommend. We have had good service there before but Saturday they were reallyoff their game.
Orsos is always good but the service was unusually lacking. I had to ask for water and when the busser brought the water bottle he just put it on the table instead of filling our glasses. I also had to ask for them to clear our table of finished glasses and plates several times vs them being proactive. One guest in our group had a late delivery of her food but all of us waited to eat until she was served.
We were pretty disappointed with our visit to Orso. We expected to spend a lot of money but were hoping the food would be worth the cost. The ribeye was tough, and the seafood Mac ‘n cheese was unimpressive. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a high quality meal.
The best halibut I've eaten lately. Delicious!
Great restaurant, great food, great service. Favorite restaurant in Anchorage.
Since I live locally I would love to see the early morning brunch brought back, as well as more/different menu selections for supper. Mix it up a bit instead of the same menu items. Also it would be nice to see more of a selection of whiskies/bourbons at the bar. Even the whiskey medleys need spiced up in my opinion.
It almost seems like Orso's caters more to tourists than locals. This is not a slam, because we are fortunate to have a great restaurant, but some changes in the menu would be welcomed.
What a fabulous meal - we came just as the halibut started coming into season. A wonderful place with lots of gluten free options.
Pricey but very good food
Service was excellent. Server was timely and attentive. Food was terrific.
The appetizer and salad were so good that we were hoping our main course wouldn't come too soon so we could completely enjoy what was already in front of us. The variety of tastes were sensational. The butler was amazing, very knowledgeable and attentive but not overly attentive. And the main course was delicious, As Good As It Gets. $100 very well spent. Oh, I forgot to mention the desert... Different than your normal Fair around town, and it was to die for. I recommend this restaurant for a very satisfying dining experience! Was a great way to celebrate my birthday.
Our server, Nick, knocked it out of the park with his prompt, attentive (but not annoyingly attentive) service. We treasured a 2 our dining experience as our kid was at his nana's house for a spend-the-night. We never felt rushed as we feasted on roasted cauliflower, fried ravioli, bread/hummus, filet mignon, fettucini, creme brulee, and a wide assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic libations. The filet mignon was the best that I've had since 1997 (yes, I was a foodie even as an 8th grader). A top-10 dining experience of my life!
It was everything I expected. European wine and intricate flavors. I had lamb shank. My partner had steak. He said it was best he’s had.
Desserts were delicious without being too sweet.
Great place to eat! From drinks to dinner to dessert everything was delicious. Busy with tourists in the summer with it’s convenient downtown location and a locals favorite anytime of year.
John our server was outstanding he was always on top of drinks and very insightful.
Weird that Opentable accepted the reservation when the restaurant was closed. Very disappointing birthday celebration.
Very nice atmosphere with good food and excellent service. Went for dinner before a concert at the events center. They were very aware of time constraints yet we never felt rushed. Recommend for that special occasions or date night.
Tasty and beautifully presented dishes.
Calamari was OUTSTANDING, but then the Seafood Mac and Cheese showed up and we were in heaven. Toped off with some of the local beers and an evening that was well worth the price. Service was outstanding. Notify your wait staff if your going to the PAC and they will have your fed and out in time for the show. Very very enjoyable.
I enjoyed the food. Not a whole of options if you do not like seafood. The lamb shank was amazing and so was the chicken parmesan. I would definitely go back.
Thank you team Orso for taking care of our out of town business associates. We wanted to leave a good impression, and you made that happen. We will be back! Cheers.
Calamari was best ever! Corn dogs not much bang for your buck. Service was hands down, outstanding! Hostess was somewhat rude as our party arrived at different intervals and seemed to be agitated by one another. It showed
Overall, if in town, I would dine there again.
Amazing food and dining service and staff upstairs!
First dinner back in Anchorage is always at Orso. Seven years in a row! (We’re from Atlanta.)
I've been going to Orsos since it opened many years ago. The food is nowhere what it used to be. Sorry guys.
Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic. Great ambiance.
It was great! And service was fantastic with delicious food as usual! Nice to wine selection!
Excellent as always. Very good food and good wine list. The lamb shank is my favorite restaurant meal in Anchorage.
Slow service and a mix up on the food but the taste was really good, the steak was done perfectly and the waitress was great without being to visible or too invisible. Food was a bit cold by the time it got out to us, especially my wives plate and that made some of the food not too good. Pricing is a bit too high but they did comp us a free desert for my wife's birthday and that was nice.
After making a reservation well in advance we were offered a table by the exterior door, and were advised that we would be more comfortable upstairs. We were seated next to a party of 8-10 extremely loud folks and could barely converse with one another. It was a most unpleasant experience. Had a premium table been held in the downstairs dining area for our reservation we would have been far more comfortable and able to enjoy our experience.
As an occasional Orso patron I was not impressed this time after having always enjoyed our meals in the past. We invited out of town visitors, expecting the great food and service. One of the guests meal was incorrect. She waited quite awhile for the replacement. Just a chicken panzenella salad for the main dish. The server did not seem to worry about us at this point, not seeming to inquire about the status of the replacement. My main, the special, mahi-mahi arrived lukewarm and drenched in olive oil. The broccoli I subbed was tough and also very oily. The four of us enjoyed our salads and chowder.
Friendly staff, great food and prompt service. All around A+ experience!
We had a wonderful dinner , the waiter was great and very attentive
I took my wife to Orso for a late Valentine's date night, and our experience was everything I hoped it would be. From the food, to the service, to the ambiance, we had a wonderful evening together. Thanks for providing the perfect venue for such a memorable night!
I ate vegan from the menu - parm mushroom and roasted cauliflower. All of it was fantastic and I can’t wait to go back!!
Nice atmosphere with good food options. Service was excellent.
We went to Orso for my sister's birthday and were surprised with a birthday card ready for her. Our server was very attentive to our needs, friendly, and made us feel comfortable. The food was delicious! It can be pricey, but definitely worth going to for special occasions. It is another restaurant that I think of that is very Alaskan.
