Had a lovely evening catching up with friends. Food was great so fresh! Love the atmosphere great way to kick off the weekend.
Drnks took sometime to get to us but dinner was great. Bar was backlogged and was fristating but dinner made up for it
First try for this restaurant. It was a little bit noisy but not too bad. The drinks were good..had a number of wine choices and martinis. I had a fish dish. The fish was nicely cooked. I wasn't a fan of the potato latke that was with the dish. Also had asparagus which was nice. My husband had two appetizers. The calamari which was good. He also had a tuna app that was his favorite. He would give that app a five star. Overall it was average for me mainly because of the sides with my dish. Overall value average. I would give it another try but probably for an app and drink(or a different menu item). It is casual overall and was a bit noisy at times. There is a separation between bar and main dining which cuts the noise...we just happened to get a very noisy diner nearby lol
The food was excellent and the service was great. We have eaten here a few times and it has always been excellent.
good and dependable. Good for everyday as well as for something a bit special
Dined here during Scituate Restaurant week based on the published special menu. They changed the menu which a restaurant is allowed to do depending upon available ingredients, etc. The regular menu was also available. Beet salad was both delicious and had eye appeal with a crouton bowl enclosing delicious greens all seated on a generous portion of sliced red and yellow beets. Mussels were perfectly cooked and swimming in a rich sauce. The pasta special with sausage was too spicy for my dinner mate. My Bolognese was of the creamy variety although I prefer the deep red type. A little too heavy. Cocktails were inventive and delicious.
Never a miss at ORO best option for South Shore Dining (or beyond).
Misto is a MUST and Cookie sandwich to finish. What comes in between almost doesn't matter but its always delicious too!
Enjoyed a fabulous meal with friends at Oro this past weekend. Our waitress, Val, was the absolute best. She was amazing, she even bent over backwards for my friend who has Celiac's Disease to be sure her meal was completely gluten free and enjoyable! Thank you to the wonderful chef also. Look forward to going back again.
Great seafood and fun atmosphere! Will be back soon!
Chef Robin does a phenomenal job at this hip, eclectic, amazingly fresh and creative spot! He takes the time to source local food and it's prepared with passion! Don't miss the corn chowder (in season), the lamb carpaccio, the tuna misto app (to die for), the amazing wine selection, and any of his mouth watering desserts. You cannot go wrong here! Enjoy!
ordered a burger again- way too salty - again- asked about the salt beforehand, too
Oro, in my humble opinion, is the best dining experience on the South Shore. It starts with an overly accommodating staff, cool and hip bar crowd, unique and gorgeous ambiance, and the best food south of Boston. I have still yet to come across a better dish than the Misto Del Mar and chef Robin can be seen most nights in his kitchen working to ensure that what is coming out is consistently wonderful. Bravo Oro, please keep it up!!
We have been eating here since it opened and have never had a bad meal. We just keep going to Oro.
Oro was exceptional. The restaurant was recommended by a friend in NYC and it also turned out to be the favorite restaurant of a couple we know in Scituate.
The food and service were fabulous. The only downside was the two couples behind us and one of the men was obnoxiously loud and bragging about how talented and affluent he was. No reflection on the restaurant but it did add a bit of a distraction.
The food is fantastic! Service is friendly and helpful! Never disappointed!
ordered a seafood stew. delicious, 1 clam, small piece of cod, the rest mussels. expected more for 30.00. beet salad was delcious
Food was good. My only knock is it was slow and the waitress seemed more interested in her friends at the bar. I'd still give it another go and hope for a betterr server.
Our favorite as always! Cozy active vibe , amazing food and friendly professional service.
One day I'll have to order something different than my usual from the menu....NAHHHHH!
Great food and service. Definitely go back. Only critique is the restaurant is very loud and tables close to each other, so not the most intimate place if you are looking for that type of experience. Otherwise, fantastic.
Oro has become our favorite go to place with a great menu, excellent service and food preparation.
I try to follow a healthy eating plan, preferring seafood and avoiding fried foods. The only white fish on the menu was a fish & chips plate and there was (supposedly farm-raised) salmon. I would like to see a menu option for broiled or roasted wild fish, wild salmon, and hormone-free, USDA certified organic chicken.
ROBIN KING, THE EXEC CHEF, IS A WONDEROUS AND SUPERIOR INVENTOR OF HAUTE NEW ENGLAND CUISINE. ORO'S IS A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE, WONDERFUL FOOD AND TERRIFIC DRINKS AND SUPERIOR SERVICE.
Food was delicious!! Very fresh and well prepared. Very generous wine pours too. Time between ordering and actually getting what we ordered (including asking for water) was a little slow.
The service staff is average -- not very helpful; seems like they are just going through the motions. The entrées were excellent, the desserts were very good, but the salads and appetizers were fair. The beet salad was mostly greens and only had a very small number of extremely thinly cut beets at the bottom. It hardly fit the definition of beet salad. The mix of tuna/salmon (Misto del Mar) was OK, but was swimming in a soy sauce mix that overwhelmed the taste. All in all, good enough to give one more try, but expectations have been lowered.
As always a special dinning experience.
NO ONE was there but at the bar! It was delicious as always.
The food on Sunday afternoon was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. The evening menu offers more interesting layers of flavors and seasonings. The Sunday brunch menu is more basic and starchy. I will use my next gift certificate there for dinner or a weekday lunch as opposed to the Sunday brunch. Service was good. There was a cold draft, though, perhaps blowing from the air conditioning vents. Who wants to get the sniffles just prior to Christmas?
Another wonderful experience at Oro - can't get enough of it!
My sister and I had an early dinner on a Friday night. There were only a few people in the dining room. The music was probably fine for the bar but was too loud for the dining room. We got there at 6:00 and by 6:45 it was so noisy our waitress yelled to us, "I can't hear you!" We got our dinners and wolfed them down so we get our of the restaurant as soon as possible. That's how loud it was. I recommend it for lunch because I have never experienced that noise level at that time of day. The decibel level was so high it would damage your hearing if subjected yourself to it for an extended period.
