We have a wonderful brunch at Oro and are looking forward to returning to try out other meals soon! Service was excellent as was the food. Can't wait to return.
Consistently one of the diamonds of the South Shore dining scene. Never disappoints!
They had an AMAZING escargot special when we went. Our waitress was super nice. Delicious spicy margarita!!
We have loved Oro brunch in the past. Three of the four of us got the burger and it was a huge thick patty. Very unappetizing looking- just a huge chunk of meat. Maybe the recipe/chef was different but don’t remember it being cooked like that in the past.
Mother’s Day brunch
Brunch at Oro is fantastic! Food is great, service is great, ambiance (live music) is great too. Love coming back!!
We had a great time and will be dining again in the future.
Great time, great food and service. This place does a great job keeping up the high standards on its menu favorites, and manages to be very innovative with new dishes.
We love the food at Oro and expect an energetic vibe, but will likely stick to our weeknight dining there. Waitstaff is friendly and warm but service a bit off. It is difficult to carry on a conversation so patrons seem to be extra loud.
That said, the food was outstanding. I am never disappointed with the salmon dishes, with a perfect crust on the sear. My dining companion loved the crab cakes and his Caesar salad although he would have liked anchovies.
We eat at Oro often and like supporting local establishments as long as the food is good and we get a warm greeting. We get that at Oro.
The service was fine but the calamari was under cooked, and there was hair in our misto Del Mar. My husband had the crab cake and it was a bit fishy. It’s too bad I had really high hopes for this place.
The menu was very limited. Had sausage with peppers with a very small portion. The pictures on the website were not what was available from the kitchen. Wanted to order the lopster but not available. The sevice was slow and the servers were dressed like workers at food pantry. We were barely able to hear each other as the place was too loud. Payed $115 for two for a meal worth half that. Sorry to say we won’t be going back to Oro.
Very noisy. The menu was uninspired - no specials on a Saturday night except for a salad. Expensive and there was nothing exceptional about our experience.
Very lively scene! Meals were delicious and creative. Service needs improvement...not all in our party were served timely. Very hopping spot.
Very enjoyable server was excellent. Food excellent. Easy ......
not from the area so just googled restaurants in the area and this was the perfect choice. the menu is not overwhelming and they are able to focus on a few options and making them really great
Still love Oro the best for local dining. Just wish they would do their Misto more like it used to be...finely chopped salmon ,tuna and not huge chunks you need to cut for yourself.
Great service! Food was delicious.
Small restaurant with a big bar in the middle of it, so the noise level is a major issue. Food was great. Service was OK and got the job done, but not overly friendly or engaging (didn't introduce themselves, make conversation, etc.). Food was great. Nothing we had at our table of 4 we didn't like. My advice would be to do something about the noise and acoustics & up the training and standard for service. Then it could be more of a 5 star restaurant for Scituate.
Terrific food and experience
food was delicious, portions just right and not so big that I felt like I had 3 meals in front of me. sad there were no specials that night, but still a good selection to choose from. just very loud in the restaurant.
The food was topnotch, the service was attentive and just right.
Fantastic food and service in a great atmosphere. The Cesar salad, misto del mar, steak, kale soup were all winners. Combined with innovative cocktails and a great wine list Oro should be on your must go list.
My favorite place. Almost every time I go I see the owner in the kitchen actively working. The difference that makes is hard to describe.
Excellent staff and bar service. Friendly environment and great local scene. Food was excellent.
Food was amazing and the overall experience was fantastic!!
First visit. Excellent food and cocktails. Ambiance needs something. Minimalistic decor is fine but something is needed to bring down the noise level - window treatments, fabrics - might help.
Great meal and service. Had a salmon dish with an amazing avacado crema and my wife had the katsu chicken. Both were amazing and our waitress was friendly and attentive. Highly reccomend.
We had a very nice time. It was an elegant dinner. We did think the carrot cake dessert was a bit dry and underwhelming. We LOVED the salmon - it was crispy when cooked and was very delicious. Truffle fries blew us away! However, we had a $50 food gift card and still spent $50 after that just on the drinks. The value balance seemed a bit off. I would visit more often if the prices were cheaper.
The energetic vibe of the place is off putting to some, but we knew going in later on a Saturday evening we would have a crowded bar scene and noise factor. No worries, although we enjoy the quieter week nights at Oro.
We got to try several dishes on the new menu and everyone was pleased with their food; delicious, beautifully presented, and creative. We started with an arugula sale and calamari appetizers we shared. the calamari was done perfectly along with flavorful greens. The salmon was perfectly seared which provided a great crust on the fish. the bavette steak never disappoints, and served with a mushroom risotto, it was perfect for a winter night. One of us tried the Chicken Katsu, which was a very pleasant surprise dish. Asian in flavors, thea crusty breast which was moist and flavorful, served with veggie chicken spring rolls. We don't usually order chicken, but will be back for more of that! The profiteroles were a great ending to our meal, which we shared.
While service is sometimes sketchy and a bit frenzied on a busy night in a tight space, the delicious tastes food and friendly staff is always welcome.
We love the food at Oro.
This was my first time at Oro. I had heard great reviews from friends and it did not disappoint. Food was fantastic and the staff are lovely. I’ll be back soon!
Favorite spot for great food and lively atmosphere
Always, always, always a great meal with great service. Having the owner active in the kitchen makes such a huge difference.
We went to Oro a little before 7pm on a Sunday night in January so, not surprisingly, it was VERY quiet. I'm sure it's super busy on a summer night. We read other reviews that said it was very loud and, while we couldn't test that out, I could imagine that to be the case because it's a small place without a lot of dividers to absorb sound. We weren't enticed by anything on the appetizer menu so we just got two entrees; a Japanese inspired chicken dish and a fish dish. Both were very good with reasonable proportions. Our server was very friendly and, when not knowledgeable, made sure to go ask in the kitchen (instead pretending that she knew which is SO much more annoying than just not knowing). Our only complaint was the beer menu...no taps at all and not a huge selection of bottles/cans. They do serve the local craft beer (Untold), which is a great beer, but they were out of the only IPA on the menu.
Always enjoy our visits to Oro. One comment: with such a small menu having at least one special on the weekends, at least, would be nice. Service is always outstanding.
Always our pick for good food and festive atmosphere.
Casual but well dressed crowd in all age brackets.
Don't miss the Misto or cauliflower. Just wish they would go back to chopping the fish in smaller bits for the Misto
always enjoy dinner and Brunch at ORO, slim pickens on south shore but ORO allows us an enjoyable night out, great food
Favorite place in our seaside town. Love the service - food and ambiance
The food was very well prepared broccoli rabe crispy and a nice contrast to vegetable lasagna. Gourmet food expensive but worth it.
Best lemon drop martini I’ve ever had. We sat at the bar and our bartender was attentive and very pleasant. Food was delicious
