Very different drinks. Cute ideas for their drinks. We received complimentary champagne for my husbands birthday. Acoustics Where loud. It was hard to talk. Parking was bad.
Food was very good, but a bit pricey for the portion size. Upstairs was extremely loud!
Great place unique food and drink options
Very quaint for a downtown restaurant;especially, if your looking for a nice low key place for a simple
date night. My husband and I will most definitely be returning.
Triangle Restaurant Week
My first time visiting this eatery for lunch during restaurant week. I enjoyed my meal and will definitely be returning again. The presentation and the flavors are superb!
Visited for lunch during Triangle Restaurant Week. Excellent value - only $10 for lunch- and the food was delicious. Sleek and modern decor. Parking deck across the street.
Visited during restaurant week. Will definitely come back. Loved sitting upstairs overlooking the street. Food was fabulous!!
Recently returned to ORO for dinner after a long absence. Am very happy I came back - the dinner was exceptional, excellent service and great choice for wines. Highly recommended.
We had an 8pm Reservation but they were so busy we didn’t get seated until 8:30pm. Although, we started a little rough the food and drinks made up for it. I will definitely be coming back. Great place for a date or to enjoy a gathering with friends.
Although our food and service was excellent, the Reception on the top level was very loud which made it hard for our party to hold a conversation amongst ourselves on the lower level.
Delicious food. Service was great. Highly recommend this place.
Oro was delicious! I ordered from the restaurant week menu and really enjoyed the variety.
The restaurant was very nice. I like the decor. The food was delicious. I especially enjoy the cauliflower. I would like to see more vegetarian and or vegan options added to the menu.
Great food everything tasted great. Loved the fun themed cocktails.
The food was served tapas style. For the price, we thought the portions were small. We all thought the food was good, but not great. We went out for ice cream after dinner instead of having dessert there. The desserts didn’t impress us. We did love our waiter, Corey. He made the night enjoyable.
I let Oro and Chief Chris know that my dinner for 7 people was for very close friends, two of those friends had dietary issues. He and his staff went to extreme to fix just a great chief’s variety of food and with an excellent wine list. I can’t say enough about this g of a restaurant on Wilmington Street, Chief Chris Hylton, Corey and the staff
Second time to Oro. Like the first, service was outstanding. At some small plates places, you feel pressed to order up right away. Our server was more than happy to let us pace our meal so we had a relaxing meal. We tried one of the Central Table plates this time. It was a nice size to serve as an "entree" for two when we included sides. Only disappointment was the steak was a bit overdone vs. our request. While there, we noticed very interesting presentations of some of their featured cocktails, which will make sure to try on another visit. Highly recommend a visit to Oro.
Very good! One of our favorites but it can get pricey very fast!
We loved the experience of having a fine, creative waiter and the chance to experience the food in a tapas way so that we could taste all of the food everyone wanted to try. We appreciated that the chef created his jerk chicken to honor the Hurricanes! Go Canes! A fine experience.
We were disappointed in our dinner here. Have had wonderful meals at various Raleigh restaurants and this one just didn’t make the cut. Cocktails were good, cauliflower dish was pretty good but not served hot, everything else we had was mediocre.
Food was delicious, a little pricey. No round tables, when you have a group a round table is so much better. Loud and very noisy. In spite of all of theses comments, we had a delicious meal.Thank You
We were celebrating my husbands birthday and had a wonderful dinner. The food was outstanding as well as the service (Cory was our server). We were so impressed with the response of the restaurant from my notation on Opentable that it was my husband’s 70th birthday. Two glasses of champagne was presented to us on arrival and a candle was placed on our dessert. It’s these types of attention to detail that will definitely have us return again. So many times I have had requests ignored on Opentable with other restaurants so I truly appreciated you helping me make this a special day!
terrific drinks, good food and good services. The noise was a bit overwhelming, but given the positives I'd go again.
The food and service were both great. We were seated on the top level and it was a little loud. But apparently they will be installing some sound dampeners on the ceiling soon (4-6 weeks).
We've been to this restaurant a couple of times and will certainly be going back
Food was wonderful as always but this time there was something missing. Didn’t receive same happy warm service as usual so that took a bit off the experience. Still a nice place to eat downtown.
This place was amazing. I will be back to sample everything else on the menu!!!! A must try in Raleigh.
All good except we felt rushed by the food delivery. My wife's birthday dinner before going to theater. Planned time for nice relaxing dinner. Small plates intended to be shared. Every dish was delivered before we finished the one we were working on. Just ruined the relaxed dinner we wanted to have.
Again, food good, setting good, location good, server's table side manner good. All tarnished by rushing the food too us. We were one of 3 or 4 tables being served.
Do yourself a favor and go!!
We asked Chef Chris to do a special tasting menu for the two of us and he graciously complied. 7 incredible courses cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. We were told that a number of items we tasted (Quick comment - taste is an understatement for the amount of food that was brought to our table - it was abundant but not overwhelming) will be on his upcoming menu.
Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy this great restaurant.
Thank you Chef Chris. You created a special and memorable evening for us.
Great selection, small plates so you can order a few different items and feel satisfied.
Great place for a date quiet, small and intimate
Great selection of Tapas food. Very tasty, quick to the table.
Fantastic as always! Did the “make your own smores” for dessert and was so much fun! Creative and interactive for everyone at the table.
Server was great! Chicken and ribs were both dry and definitely not cooked fresh!
We stopped in for lunch and were impressed with the food choices as well as the tasty beverages. It was a surprising find! I'll return in the future for dinner.
The food was very salty in general... drinks were great.
I loved Oro! A group of friends and I went there for dinner before our prom and it was definitely worth it. We got the family style which was $40 per person and it was delicious! They charged someone in my group our whole bill even though we said to split the check so not sure what happened there. Overall, great ambiance. Would recommend allotting about 2 hours if you get the family style.
Tapas style restaurant:
Sweet Potato: good, could have been more well done, kind of small
Sesame Cauliflower: good, light, and there was a good amount
Pork Belly: Bad, very tough
Brussel Sprouts: good, good amount
Service was great drinks were great. Wine popsicle was cool. Food came out very fast. Ordered everything at once, don't do that as the portion sizes vary and the food came out very fast. Could have had some better guidance from the server on that.
I wouldn't recommend it, but I wouldn't be that upset if I had to go here again.
The three of us shared several small plates for the ultimate tapas experience. Excellent food.
One of us ordered the Smoke and Mirrors cocktail. Surprising presentation and he said the beverage was excellent!
