We each look forward to welcoming you to Oriole.
What Insiders Are Saying
Oriole is a fancy and expensive tasting menu restaurant that’s great for a special occasion.
The staff at Oriole made our 18 yr anniversary so memorable with their amazing food, service, and thoughtfulness. Oriole is in the top 5 meals I have ever had in my life. It’s worth every penny for their set menu and they call you ahead of time to make sure they account for anything you dislike so you don’t have to worry about it.
Lives up to the hype, beautiful, thoughtful, and gracious hospitality. Definitely one of the best in Chicago.
This was a totally delightful experience. My family and I took Chicago on for a food journey Thursday thru Friday night. Without a doubt this was our high point. All the staff worked in perfect harmony with the greatest attention to details. Every morsel from the tasting menu was spectacular, it would be unfair to judge them against each other. Perfect sushi starter, a foie gras mouse with candied fresh blueberries was transcending. The langoustine followed by sable fish surpassed my hopes and expectations, they were insane. Then it continued. I had 2 wines picked for us and they were well priced and complimented the food admirably. This place is fantastic and greatly surpassed our meal at a very famous place the night before. Thanks guys, a magnificent show, we will be back as often as possible
Everything about Oriole was exceptional. The service was awesome - the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and not at all stuffy. We laughed with the servers repeatedly, they really make you feel comfortable and welcome. The food is absolutely incredible - we’ve eaten at 3-Michelin star restaurants and Oriole was as innovative and flawless as any of them. I would not be surprised if they got a third star soon. Oriole is less about the “show” like a lot of top spots, and instead focus on every last detail of their dishes. Absolutely phenomenal experience. Thank you for such a wonderful evening!
Absolutely worth every penny
Amazing experience with exceptional food!
For a truly superb culinary experience in Chicago, look no further. Oriole hits all the targets with respect to food, service, and ambiance. I have not had a finer meal anywhere else--for me, Oriole is at least tied with 3-4 other restaurants (like Joel Robuchon in Vegas, the now-defunct Grace in Chicago, and a couple others) for the best meal of all time. The uniqueness of the flavors was striking--this meal granted more new flavors than any other meal I've ever had. We had a non-alcoholic drink pairing, which was outstanding and complemented the meal beautifully without the taste-altering properties of alcohol. The service was phenomenal--quietly efficient, informative without being wordy, seamless, perhaps the best I've ever experienced.
About the only star I could remove would be for value--the meal was very expensive even without alcohol. Nevertheless, for a meal you'll probably have at most once a year, Oriole is still well worth the price.
A place full of wonderful surprises. From de entrance of the restaurant (the uber driver didn’t believe us when we told him there was a restaurant at this address), the welcome drink, to the attention to every little detail during our meal. The food was unbelievable and the experience even better.
Creative menu and superb service. Perfect for special occasions.
Nice atmosphere and amazing world-class food! They had 14 courses and there wasn't a single one of them that we didn't LOVE!
Excellent innovative food. Great friendly service. Worth it.
Food was awesome, service was great. Nice small location
Fantastic- best ever!!
excellent service. excellent food. great environment. one of my best restaurants in chicago so far!!!
Every dish they served was incredible and memorable and the service was excellent. We came here for our wedding anniversary and at the end of our night, they surprised us with a card signed by everyone at Oriole and boxes of homemade popcorn. It was a super sweet gesture!
A dining experience..Can't say enough-Would love to dine again in 6 months when there is a menu change--Definitely a great place to celebrate something special!!
I can offer only one criticism. While watching the kitchen perform I noticed the cooks on their phones and then plating and touching food. I know they are pros but found this to be obtuse to the experience.
A thoughtful and indulgent culinary experience. Wine pairings on the standard list were quite excellent and made for a memorable evening.
Service was attentive and quick and the entire visit was carefully curated from start to finish.
Our GO TO place for celebrations and amazing food nights. There is a reason they have 2 Michelin stars. Favorite courses: langostine, A5 miyaki wagu, strawberry croissant. But who are we kidding? They were all awesome!
Absolutely amazing experience. Close to three star worthy.
Outstanding in every regard. Recommend doing the wine pairing...it makes it that little bit more expensive but totally worth it.
This is the second time to Oriole, and never disappoints. The first time we went was in 2016, and ruined us because we always measure against that experience. Totally not fair, but it is reality. Great staff, great food, great presentation...... can’t wait to go back to Chicago
Probably one of the top 3 restaurants in the city. Amazing experience every time. Thank you for a wonderful meal and great service across the board. Won't post photos to not spoil for new guests but the dishes were not only smartly crafted and coursed, but also all very delicious.
Over the top in every aspect. It's not just an excellent dinner but an exceptional experience. Would have given 6 stars if I could.
Food was as splendid as last visit. Service was not as efficient, caring, or as skilful. Meant the overall experience was not as good
Honeymoon! One of the best meals we’ve had!
Great splurge and great experience! If you had the opportunity to eat at Senza before Oriole, it was great to see the progression where Noah is going. Wish Oriole the best until the next time. Each course was a beautiful tasty surprise. I gave 3 stars for value more for the sticker shock even though everything was done with upmost excellence. Wine pairing took the experience to another level!
Best fine dining experience in Chicago
Excellent food and service
Truly one of the best experiences. The food was out of this world, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was perfect. My boyfriend (now fiance!) called ahead of time to arrange a proposal, and they made it incredibly special and romantic. I wouldn't change one thing about our visit here and hoping to come back! 10/10.
Amazing in every detail, bite, & sip!
We went here to celebrate a birthday, and from the moment we arrived till the moment we finished the service was nothing short of excellent. The creativity in the dishes was world class, and the freshness of the ingredients were on the same level. If you are someone who appreciates fine dining, and are able to have an experience like this do not pass on it. Chef Sandoval's menu provides a wonderful dining experience, that alone speaks for itself; but the attention to detail and care of the patrons by the staff is what takes the experience from great to memorable. The price point is slightly high, and moreso if you get a pairing however you can order drinks a la carte with the transitioning of dishes with recommendations from the staff as well. Overall, the unassuming entrance under the small awning in the middle of the alley opens up into an intimate space, warmly lit, with a great view of all the action in the kitchen as you wait for your dishes to arrive. We were even given a short tour of the kitchen; such a memorable evening!
Amazing meal with outstanding service. Have eaten at a lot of top notch places and Oriole definitely in top 3 all time.
Had dinner at Oriole on Thursday night (9p reservation), and every single thing was excellent. The food was absolutely incredible, delicious, creative, unique, and seasonally appropriate. However, the service was even better. Every aspect of the experience was clearly well thought out and flawlessly executed. The staff were warm and friendly, highly knowledgeable, and eminently professional. The space itself is fantastic as well - cool design, comfortable, and somehow quiet without making you feel awkward for carrying on a lively conversation. The kitchen is open to the restaurant (as in fully open - floor to ceiling) yet operates in near-silence. The pacing was perfect, there was never an awkward wait between courses but also never a feeling of being rushed; the staff was extremely attuned to our pace and adapted accordingly. I cannot recommend Oriole highly enough for what was easily the best dining experience I have had in Chicago to date (which includes many of the spots similar to Oriole around town).
Worth the price. Surprised that I left very full and satisfied.
Came here to celebrate my wife’s 30th birthday. From arrival to ending, service was amazing and very attentive. The staff even signed a birthday card and surprised my wife with it as well as a personalized menu at the end wishing her a happy birthday! Food was excellent - let yourself be surprised. Ambiance was great and the limited seating made it feel very intimate. We didn’t do the wine pairing as we elected to bring our own special bottle of wine (Corkage fee was $50). Overall this was an amazing experience!
Spectacular cuisine with outstanding wine paring combined with professional staff make for a memorable dinner. Will definitely return
The best culinary experience I have ever had in every aspect. The best meal I’ve eaten and some of the most well paired wines I’ve ever had.
Just superb! Way above other 2 stars restaurants!!
Two nights after Alinea I didn't know what to expect from this "newcomer" but WOW!!! Every dish competed with the one before to be our new favorite. We've eaten all over the country but I can safely say this has surpassed Eleven Madison Park, Per Se, Le Bernedin and, yes, Alinea. New Favorite restaurant - thank you Oriole.
