Jamie did a wonderful job n serving us. The food continues to be wonderful
Great restaurant, but a bit noisy for a fine dining restaurant.
Best restaurant ever. Seriously, they took care of us, both nights, both at the bar and the table. All professional, and best preparation. We had reservations at Ruth Chris the second night, but decided to go back to Roy’s instead, and we were not disappointed.
As always, another great meal at the original Roy’s, which is still the best despite all Roy’s locations being consistently good. Only small criticism would be a wine list that’s a bit limited in some areas.
This is our restaurant of choice for special occasions. Celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary and although we didn’t get to see the sunset, we enjoyed the excellent service and food never disappoints. Especially loved the escargot and must have the chocolate soufflé! Will be back!
We loved everything about it. We’ll be back
Excellent ss usual, both food and service
Delicious choices, great execution!
Went to celebrate a friend’s achievements. Staff was so courteous and brought out complimentary dessert. The food was phenomenal.
Food & staff were great as usual!
Always a great experience.
Easy and casual dinner, with great food, drinks and service.
Birthday celebration for my wife!
The service, food, and drinks were top-notch...as usual! We love Royʻs!
Great food as always, thanks Roy's for always making our date nights great!
Loved every bit of it! We lucked out this time too; we got a seat by the window and got to watch the sunset over the horizon.
Service is always top notch - everyone is friendly and attentive. We went for the special Restaurant Week menu. Started with a fresh green salad with local goat cheese and macadamia nut crumble. Ordered the duck for the entree and it was perfectly cooked! Breast was soft and moist, the confit leg was crispy and the cherry gastrique that came with it was the perfect complement! The vanilla panna cotta for dessert with the ginger cookies rounded out a great night. We also ordered the green tea lava cake and it was packed with matcha flavor. The wine pairing with the meal was much more generous than I was expecting, so it was a very pleasant surprise when each glass came out with each course.
We were greeted warmly by the host downstairs, then the hostess upstairs, then the waiter. As this was our first visit, we asked the waiter for help because all the dishes sounded so good! The food: shishito peppers to start, fish for me, steak for my mom, finished with the apple crumble and panna cotta were all beautifully prepared and delicious. We went early and watched a lovely sunset, something we didn't plan on but added to the experience.
Wonderful restaurant, overlooking the ocean, with a great view of sunset. The food was excellent -- some of the best salmon I've ever had, plus delicious ahi and misoyaki butterfish. Would definitely recommend!
Excellent views, nearby parking, fabulous service, excellent food
Unassuming establishment until you get taken upstairs. Attentive and friendly staff. Food was great! Thankful for attention to gluten allergy! Wine pours were generous and appreciated. All in all one of our better experiences dining on Oahu - better than Hoku, Alan Wong’s and Plumeria. Thank you Roys for a great meal and experience!
Amazing butterfish and the service was excellent. They don't skimp on the mixed drinks either.
Food and service never fail
Reservations for early evening are easy
The food was okay. The chocolate soufflé cake was delicious. The Ahi maki was delicious. The fish was a little dry. The rib eye steak didn’t have much taste. The bread was delicious and I’m grateful that my water glass was always filled. The seats were great because it wasn’t too close to the next table and it wasn’t noisy.
Very sad experience.
Some bad things happened but worst things of all was that we were seated to the worst table ever. That table is located at the far far end of everything with almost no lights. It was as if we were eating in the dark warehouse. That table should not be existed in the first place, and nobody should not be seated ever.
It’s hard to believe Roy Yamaguchi actually allow that to happen at the flagship of his chain.
The 4 of us had an awesome meal. The food was spot on perfect and our server Dylan took very good care of us!! Will definitely be back next time.
Great service, really good food!
Food and service is consistently excellent. We celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary and the staff made it very special.
It was great, our server was very helpful as to what we should try in the menu
Our dinner at Roy's in Hawaii Kai was great. I had friends from out of town visiting and they loved the food and view from upstairs. Service was great. When I made my reservations I asked for a seat with a great view because of my guests from out of town and they accommodated my request. Appetizers were great. My ribeye was perfect. Even the mixed cocktails were great. Would highly recommend.
Greatly enjoyed the expanded menu. Food was actually much better than in past. Portions were also larger.
We have not been there for awhile. Glad that we did. The service was excellent. Dylan made us at home. It makes a big difference when you have a good and attentive server. We ordered five appetizers as we didn't want to eat too much. Ahi was great. Especially the sauce was really good. The greens we ordered were okay. I could probably do better at home. Overall it was a pleasant evening and we will come back.
Very nice experience for our parents 60th wedding anniversary. Service was awesome.
On 10/14 our family had dinner at Roy’s H-Kai. Our reservation was at 5:45 and we had a nice window table. A large table of 10 (?) was already seated next to us and they were loud. I’m guessing it’s just their culture but as the evening progressed they got louder and drank more wine, walking around filling up wineglasses. I hope they had a designated driver.
Anyway, I would like to suggest the next time a large group dines at Roy’s and they are heavy drinkers, seat them in the alcove or not close to other dinners so the voices don’t carry to diners nearby. It was very annoying to hear loud voices and squeezing by our table to talk to their friends and to pour wine.
Otherwise we always enjoy Roy’s.
This was our second time at Roy’s while on the same vacation trip. The food is Devine and the service is quite possibly the most seamless and best I’ve ever experienced. If you want an amazing fine dining experience go to Roy’s; it will not disappoint!
We had an amazing time here for my husband's birthday! Our waiter Joon was on point as well as everyone else. We had our two (soon to be three) year old with us and she was treated so well. They are very accommodating for young children. Would highly recommend to all my friends!
Amazing food and service, and they made a bigger deal out of my wedding then we did. We will definitely be back. Thank you Roy’s.
Absolutely incredible experience. They were so accommodating and generous when it came to our anniversary dinner, we’ll definitely be coming back.
