After a two-year closure, Original Joe's, San Francisco’s quintessential Italian-American dining destination, revitalized iconic Daly City institution Joe’s of Westlake, and reintroduced it into the community as Original Joe’s Westlake. An anchor of Daly City from 1956 to 2014, Original Joe’s Westlake underwent an extensive two-year renovation, complete with a front-to-back interior remodel, including the kitchen and all dining spaces, and an exterior and landscaping overhaul. Boasting Sputnik lighting, terrazzo flooring and redwood accents throughout, Original Joe’s Westlake elicits mid-century America in the likes of Palm Springs, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas. The newly reimagined Cascade Room features show-stopping pimento orange banquettes, and offers a variety of options for large gatherings—from private rehearsal dinners and memorial receptions, to smaller non-private family dinners, class reunions and birthday celebrations. With beautiful custom sliding doors, the Cascade Room can be divided in half, creating two fully private event spaces, accommodating up to 50 guests each.

I always order the linguine with scampi.. so delicious. My husband loves the halibut with mashed potatoes. The salmon is always good along with steak Al Bruno. The trio of deserts, beignets, huge brownie and the pound cake with ice cream were to die for.. thanks for the lovely evening out with friends

We are a three generation Westlake Joe’s devotee. Our daughter visiting briefly from out of town was thrilled to know I had made a lunch reservation. We were seated promptly in a booth in the front dining room ( where the kitchen is). Our food was mediocre (e.g., my daughters filet of sole piccata had many bones). The service seemed to be an “effort”. The music was great but really loud considering the other noise. Small children were either crawling on top of the booths or trying to “break” the lamp. ( I know this is out of the restaurant’s control but it is distracting.) A customer was seated while on his phone ( that should not happen) and without his entire party. He was oblivious as another table with an elderly and unstable patron was trying to leave with their family. The man on the phone was finally told to return to the lobby but it was circus like! So please review and do better..we love this place!

The ambience and service were both excellent, as was the food. I love fried chicken sandwiches and that was the best one I've ever had! All of the food that my friend and I had was very good. The only thing that was a bit uncomfortable was that the music was so loud that it was very difficult talking to someone who was just across the table from me.

Our waiter was great. Gave us time to enjoy our cocktails before placing our order for dinner. The food was excellent too. Would suggest having Angels Envy bourbon.

We really enjoyed our monthly get together at Original Joe's Westlake. We ordered the Joe's famous hamburger which was cooked medium rare just as we asked and the linguine pesto pasta which was perfect. The burger also came with fries that were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender & light on the inside. Taylor was very friendly and checked on us frequently and refilled our water. Great service, great food.

Always love eating at Joe's - love the food, the service, the vibe. The only downside this time was when we checked in, as soon as we sat, they said we had to move tables as they brought us to the wrong one. This was difficult in that both my parents have mobility issues so having them get up to go to another area is hard. We walked back to the host/hostess podium with the host only to find out that we were at the correct table after all and we walked back.

Always amazing food and amazing service and a high energy environment. We dined in the bar. Very spacious comfortable seating. It is noisy though so beware of that if you’re sensitive to ambient sound.

My sisters and I came today we grew up in San Francisco and going to Joe’s was always very special for us and now they were living on the peninsula to little bit more difficult. I have the shrimp salad shrimp Louie, which was to die for everything was great. Loved it and I will be back soon. Thank you.!

They were really busy so I had DIY much as service goes. The staff was friendly and professional, any discredit comes because they were too busy apparently to have roaming bussers or waiters eyeballing the tables and reading dinners forth coming needs.

I have been going to Joes for over 50 yrs. The food is always good and consistent. The portions are generous, so you will never leave hungry. The atmosphere and service are old San Francisco. The wait staff is professional and friendly. The family who owns Joes has been in the restaurant business for generations, and they are wonderful people.

Really lovely dinner! Drinks and food were great value and very tasty all around. Enjoyed the sound dampening on the ceiling so I could actually hear my dinner companions. Not always possible in nice restaurants around the Bay.
