After a two-year closure, Original Joe's, San Francisco’s quintessential Italian-American dining destination, revitalized iconic Daly City institution Joe’s of Westlake, and reintroduced it into the community as Original Joe’s Westlake. An anchor of Daly City from 1956 to 2014, Original Joe’s Westlake underwent an extensive two-year renovation, complete with a front-to-back interior remodel, including the kitchen and all dining spaces, and an exterior and landscaping overhaul. Boasting Sputnik lighting, terrazzo flooring and redwood accents throughout, Original Joe’s Westlake elicits mid-century America in the likes of Palm Springs, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas. The newly reimagined Cascade Room features show-stopping pimento orange banquettes, and offers a variety of options for large gatherings—from private rehearsal dinners and memorial receptions, to smaller non-private family dinners, class reunions and birthday celebrations. With beautiful custom sliding doors, the Cascade Room can be divided in half, creating two fully private event spaces, accommodating up to 50 guests each.

This was our 2nd time here. Returned for the hamburger sandwich. Food was great again but our service was a little slow. Almost 2 hours for 4 of us with one round of drinks, our meal and dessert. We will definitely return. Can't beat the quality and quantity of the food.

Love eating at this place, however this time the quality of our meal and the services wasn't as good as it has been in the past. Two of the four of us had to return our dishes (or parts of our dishes) and what returned was either overcooked or cold. We were disappointed and at the same time, realize that they can't be perfect each time. We will try again and maybe this time come on a different day and do either lunch or dinner...no more brunch.

Server forgot silverware, had to wait unusually long time for service. Ran out of item. Told had Turkey dinner and came in specifically for that. Just not the usual Joes experience.

I really love Joe’s. I’ve van going here for 30 years. The table service is always great, however the hostesses can be condescending and pretty rude. On this lunch reservation, the hostess was a 7/10, but evening hostesses tend to be no good (rolling eyes, and seem to be reading from a script about waits. The prime rib is to die for; I just wish they offered better sides for vegetables. The broccoli was undercooked, and the mash potatoes don’t have a wow factor. The prime rib itself is impeccable. The table bread is so hard, but complimentary. There wine carafes are excellent.

Maybe it was bc we went closer to closing but the food was way too salty. We got the prime rib and lasagna. Service was mediocre, the wait staff seemed rushed to get out of there. Other tables seems to have better service.

Joe s is one of my favorite restaurants It was decorated very nice for Holidays. I always love the atmosphere. We were celebrating an 80th birthday. They didn't rush us and we were able to have a very nice evening. I also go there quite frequently without reservations and always seem to get a seat in bar without reservations. I do dine early though 4 to 5pm so that may be why. Mid week is better too,

We have been coming to Joe’s of Westlake since it opened. We were young children, and now we are in our senior years. We are rarely disappointed. After the renovation, it is even better. Great ambience, festive holiday atmosphere, friendly and competent staff, and our dinner was delicious. We usually order the same dishes…. Veal scallopini with ravioli and creamed spinach. I could make another reservation for tomorrow for the same meal, but the reservations are full. ☹️

Lunch with forever friends was absolutely wonderful. Food was delicious & service was awesome, as always. Original Joe's is our favorite go to restaurant. The Warm Butter Cake was the perfect ending to our lunch.

We were seated on time with our reservation. Got the perfect table near the fireplace and TV. Food was delectable as always. Tiramisu was so good! Eduardo our server was superb, he made sure that we’re ok.

Food was great as always! But we were seated at an awkward 8 top table and were only 4 people- the room was extra loud with large parties and hard to hear- we were celebrating a birthday so it was disappointing. We ordered dessert too but no candle :( I also feel like we were dismissed perhaps because we weren’t drinking.

Daily specials are the greatest part of the menus. We liked the Cobb salad which was big enough to share. The Joe’s ravioli was also very tasty and it was a huge portion.

Joe’s of Westlake is a wonderful dining experience. You could go there with your family or friends for special occasions or just to go for drinks after work. The food is spectacular and very generous drinks are on point .The services is always good and precise. I do recommend you make reservations, but sometimes you can always take a chance and eat in the bar area near the fireplace, which is so wonderful and cozy. I highly recommend this place. I’ve never had a bad meal at Original Joe’s in Westlake. It’s especially rewarding to bring people there for a terrific meal and then order the Warm Butter Cake for dessert. It’s always a big hit. Service is beyond compare in the city. Unless you spent $475 per person.

Disappointing, sorry to say. I really liked this restaurant but something since the start of Covid has changed here. I feel like every time Ive gone here in the last couple years it’s been disappointing. I try to order something different thinking it might be the dish, it’s not. I hate to say this about this place as it’s one of the few nice restaurants on this side of town but I really don’t think I can go here again.

Loud and active place. Excellent staff. Food was very peppery. No need to add to all of the food. Linguine and clams were fair and extra pepper diminished the taste of clams. Shrimp salad sandwich also had too much pepper. Lose the taste of the food
