Origin India in Las Vegas serves a dynamic menu of modern Indian cuisine. Its seasonal menu created by Executive Chef Vinod Ahuja changes to reflect the use of fresh ingredients. Guests can try the fish begum behar (swai dipped in a lemon flavored rice and flour served with a mint-tamarind chutney), the vegetable samosas (seasoned potatoes and peas stuffed in a fried puff pastry or the pani puri (crispy puffed puris with black gram beans as a main course.
Origin India has a full-service bar that includes a variety of traditional and signature cocktails created by its resident mixologist. It also has an extensive wine and beer list that includes hard to find imports. Featured on Rachael Ray’s Food Network travel show “Rachael’s Vacation” and in the local press, Origin India was received the Best of Las Vegas 2009 award by Las Vegas Review-Journal Poll. It also has happy hour.
We booked through Open Table and received a confirmation. We took a taxi ($20+) to get there, only to find a note on the door that the place was closed and under new management! :(
They didn't honor our reservation.
The food was good but the Ali Gobhi came out cold.
Great food, great service! I can't wait to go back!
This is one of the best places we've eaten for Indian food. The service was impeccable. My husband had a horrible case of the hiccups and the staff was incredible with helping him overcome this annoyance. They were extremely attentive to us. Back to the food, it'll be one of the best Indian meals you'll ever have.
This was the worst food I've ever had. After ordering my starter I had found a piece of plastic in the Shish kebab and also it wasn't cooked and raw. I complained and they replaced the kebab and this time it wasn't cooked either and had little flavour if any.
My friends curry was milder than a cormar as we had asked for something spicy. The kingfisher lager was definitely off as I've had this drink in many Indian Restuarent's and it tasted disgusting.
Unbelievable service and no opolgies. Bad night, bad dinner and awful service. And we were really looking forward to this.
And what I don't understand is that it scored very heavily with open table. The number 1 indian in Vegas. That's why we booked the restuarent. If any body wants an authentic Indian I strongly advice them not to book here.
Restaurant was highly recommended and we went out of our way to get there on a drive from St. George to the West Coast. Since we have been to Vegas before and never to this restaurant we thought it would be a great pitstop. It did not disappoint. I had a great chicken and lamb dish and I wish we could've took the leftovers along with us. Would definitely recommend to others as the food was cooked very well and the spices were perfect. This is also a great lunch spot if you can't make it there for dinner. Highly recommend if you want to go somewhere off the strip.
We had the lunch buffet. Some of the food was really tasty, others were a little bland or dry. Still enjoyed my meal, it just could have been even better.
We asked for our food to be prepared mild. All 3 dishes were very spicy.
We love coming to Origin India every time we come to Vegas. Everything is always outstading!
Origin India is an excellent place to visit for a decent Indian meal.
The waiter was very helpful, explaining the different strengths (spice level) that a meal could be ordered to (which was a great help to us) in comparison to the UK curry that we knew.
I would thoroughly recommend that you visit here if you enjoy Indian food.
Was a the greatest dinner in this special trip with my son.
Always the owner tried to make our experience and the food selection the very best options.
Great food and attention.
Best Indian Restaurant in Las Vegas.
Wonderful service and lots of vegetarian options as well as great fish and chicken specialties.
I have eaten there many times over the years. Food and service used to be very good. This time however it was not. It has potential of doing better. Green chutney was tasteless. Asked for slice of lemon and they did not have it. On Valentine day restaurant was half empty reflecting drop in cliental. Wish they can improve on food and make servers and manager customer friendly.
The restaurant was "out of" many items on the wine list, which was disappointing.
Awesome as usual. Food and service. The waiter even made recommendations so that we ordered just the right amount of food.
Excellent buffet, especially the goat curry. They ran out of some items, hence dropping a star. Otherwise, a great experience.
Service was the worst I've seen in ages, got the order wrong.
Food was just bad.
If there was 0 rating, it would have been more appropriate for the experience.
The service and staff were amazing, very varied and superb menu. The shrimp tandoori and chutney chicken were 2 of the best indian dishes i have ever had. The goat curry was a little bland and too many bones but they did warn us about this, i just did not realize how many bones there would be. Overall a beautiful very tastefully decorated restaurant with great food, and very caring staff
Best Dosoa I've ever had food was excellent!
Great food and service. Pleasantly unobtrusive!
Great selection on the menu. Husband hadn't had goat in years!
They did not rush us which was appreciated.
As with most British people on holiday after a few days you get a craving for a good curry. This does not disappoint and as good as anything i have had back home. It also has a good selection of beers which you don't get back home and the cocktails are good.
I go to this restaurant every time I am in Vegas. The staff is very accodating and the food is excellent.
Food has always been good, service can be hit or miss, but not so bad as to keep us away. They changed their menu and I wanted something they didn't list anymore and they made it for me anyways. While the food is not cheap, it is priced well for the quality.
So, I have never really cared for Indian Cuisine. An Indian friend of mine accompanied me to this place and another in Vegas. He liked the other placed, but LOVED this place. He said that this was the real deal and they accommodated his requests for peppers rather than chilie powder. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and didn't leave the meal with the typical after tastes. I then brought a group back to enjoy it again before we left Vegas. I am converted to one who enjoys Indian, however, I do fear that any others cannot compare.
Arrived on time for 6:15pm reservation. After 20 minutes not a single table in the restaurant had been waited on. We left very disappointed in the lack of service. We dine out at least weekly and have never seen this level of service. Actually NO service in the entire restaurant. Not sure what the issue was but as stated ... very disappointed.
We don't make it to Las Vegas often, but Origin India has become a regular stop. The food is really good, and the staff is always attentive and helpful. We were here this time with a party of 6 and ordered the tasting menu. Everything was delicious, and the pace and order of courses was just right. If you're treating yourself, this is an easy and fun option; however, we had a lot of food left over, so it might be wise to order from the menu unless you're really hungry or want lunch the next day.
Would definitely recommend.
Good food, good portions, nice and hot when it came out.
We HAVE EATEN HERE SEVERAL TIMES, AND HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED THE FOOD. THEY HAVE ADDED A BUFFET AT LUNCH, AND IT IS AN EXCEPTIONAL BARGAIN WITH 12-15 ITEMS. IF ONE DESIRES INDIAN FOOD IN LAS VEGAS, THIS IS THE PLACE.
Service and Food excellent
We went for the lunch buffet. It was okay for my non-vegetarian friends but I'm a vegetarian and I didn't like it at all! Hardly any options were served and were half-cooked or bland. Would not go again!
Origin India is a great place to go after one of the many shows Vegas offers. It is off the strip, and away from the hustle - easy to get in and out, and ample free parking,
The staff is friendly, the tempo is moderate, and the food is excellent!
Good food and service. What else could I ask for!
I would give this place 6's across the board if I could.
The restaurant was empty when we arrived early Monday evening. My husband and I went for a farewell dinner at the end of our vacation with my best friend, her husband, and their one year old daughter. I work in the service industry. Not only was the staff NOT ANNOYED by seeing a toddler in the restaurant, they VOLUNTEERED TO TAKE CARE OF HER when our food arrived, so Mommy and Daddy could enjoy a nice, hot meal together.
The ambiance is outstanding. Dark wood decor. Beautiful decorations.
Delicious, fragrant food. The naan was fresh, warm, buttery, and crispy on the outside without being burnt. We highly recommend all the dishes we had - butter chicken and curry chicken.
Origin India is one of the few Indian restaurants which combines ambiance with good food! I recommend Origin India to one and all!
Maybe busier on weekends but at 8pm on a Wednesday this place was a welcome relief from the raucousness of the Strip. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Food was very good and their special nan with bits of mango was delicious.
not a good place. Service is very bad. Food over priced.
In a word, it is excellent. Authentic, well presented in a nice venue.
Recommended by a friend back east Origin India was a great dining experience with delightful food and great service. My friend that was with me is vegan and his dinner was great.
