Origami - Uptown

Tonkatsu was dry and served Luke warm/cold. Service ok. Just did not measure up to expectations.

One of my favorite places to go to for Sushi. Never disappoints.

Happy hour is good, but main food/entrees were underwhelming at best (like how the ramen had a cold and very fatty pork belly placed in it, making the overall temp of the ramen lukewarm— ramen should be served HOT). Everything is overpriced for what you’re getting, which is why I’ll only ever go there again for their happy hour specials. Disappointing since we used to enjoy going there as a family, but the food overall is just too pricey now to justify.

My wife and I were excited to go to Origami for Valentine's Day. The hostess was nice and seated us quickly upstairs. Our waitress was pleasant but was pushy and did not give us much time to try to select our drinks. We asked her to come back after we had a few mins. The carpet upstairs is dirty and needs to be cleaned. Our waitress did not know the specialty drinks for V's day because she "did not drink", which is fine, but she should still know the menu and the drink specials. We ordered one specialty item that was good and a sushi platter. Our waitress forgot the salad and soup that came with the platter, we had to ask for it twice. When the salad and soup came it was 1 salad and 1 soup for two of us. This made no sense at all. The sushi platter was not fresh and the sushi was bland. We could not wait to get out of Origami but then could not get our waitress to come back with our check. We paid and walked to Chino for a drink and really enjoyed ourselves. Next time we will simply go to Fujiya or Chino. Bad service, bad food and extremely overpriced.

Sushi is always fresh and rolls delicious. Good happy hour specials. This is consistently one of my favorite sushi places in town.

We have a favorite sushi restaurant that we frequent back home. Wanted to try from a new restaurant while in town for traveling.
The wait staff was very very helpful and friendly. Offered suggestions and explanations very politely. Was a bit dark and menus were hard to read but overall the artwork and music was very nice and the meal was very cost friendly and delicious.
Would recommend. The restaurant is located to a very cool outdoor art park. Beautiful.
We enjoyed ourselves but again, the service was gave it all the stars.

The food was very good and we were also very impressed with the service at Origami. We shared an octopus appetizer and my husband enjoyed his sushi and I had a rice bowl with beef. If you're willing to go to Uptown (traffic was horrendous) this is a great place to have dinner!

Before heading to origami, we called to confirm availability of fugu. We were told its available.
When we got there, they only have half serving (7 slices)

Not to mention, they do not have fresh wasabi, green onion toro, and 2 other sashimi we wanted to order. Sigh....

Another issue :the server handled fugu fin with his bare hand and dunked it into the hot sake.

While we eat, the server didnt check in even once...

Yakisoba was also dry and tasteless. Disappointing visit.

It was the greatest meal of all time. Origami is my favorite restaurant and was the perfect place to celebrate my 21st birthday at. We came early so it was nice and quiet, service was outstanding and the food was what they serve god in heaven. Everything was perfect, and my Martini was beyond perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant, there is no rival.

Food is excellent; service is good; nice place to talk with friends.

The food honestly took 40 mins to make it to our table after ordering. and the wait staff hardly checked in with us.

The hot towel service helped us out being in the cold and our server was always there when we needed her. They treated everyone with respect and the food was great for happy hour. Next time I'll try out the main dishes for sushi and let me fiance experience the great food they have on that menu. Food was well made and we were very satisfied. Thank you

Origami used to be amazing. Food and ambiance are still good but our server was awful this last time. Doua (her name was on our receipt) was barely there. She came to the table exactly twice, in the beginning to take our order and once during the meal in the over 1.5 hrs that we were there. After that, she didn't ask us once if we wanted anything else, we had to find her to ask for more drinks and get our bills. We were going to stay longer and have more drinks and desert, but decided against it. We should've just sit in the bar and would probably get better service there. I never thought no service makes a difference but it totally does. Our visit was definitely lacking. Will probably not go back anytime soon.

Great sushi, best in town. The owner Ichi was there and he is an award-winning chef, which makes a big difference! The hostess was not friendly in comparison to the incredibly friendly owner! I recommend this place highly if you want fantastic and authentic sushi!

We had dinner at Origame. The service was fantastic, everyone was friendly, suggested food that we should try and the food came quickly. It was absolutely delicious!

Server was slow. Kept having to ask her for service, food, drinks, etc.

I had an absolutely great time with bringing my date to this place, the only problem was that I felt awkward because the staff was so nice! They earned every 5 star they get and I have no ploblem with tipping 20-30 percent on top of the original bill, worth every penny!

Origami is and has been for a very long time been my go-to sushiya.

Went there during Happy Hour and the food are priced well. The fish are good quality and the hot dishes are great as well. The only criticism I have is the sushi rice. It is too mushy and sticky. It’s lacking a little bit of texture and firmness. Overall, everything is great. I’d go back again.

One of my absolute favorite sushi restaurants. The quality of the fish and the service are excellent. I'm always well taken care of and I've never had a bad experience. Been going for years!
