Oriental Wok - Cincinnati Ratings and Reviews
Disappointed with our meal. There were 5 of us there for dinner and 4 of us felt the meal didn't meet of expectations.
The spicy items were not spicy and the stir fried vegetables were swimming in a sauce. The scallops had very little taste.
Just really disappointed as we had really been looking forward to our night out.
We went here for my husband's birthday, though we did not tell the restaurant. This is like dining in a 40s movie. In a good way. The food is lovely- maybe the aps are a bit too large so really, you need only order one for each two people. The drinks are perfect. You finish each dish and the empty plate is whisked off the table by a smiling person. Want water? You really only need to think it and the guy with the pitcher is instantly there. The lighting is, again, perfect. There are other guests and the place is filled with a happy buzz but the noise level is, you guessed it, perfect. They make you feel very special here. We recommend it.
From the minute we stepped through the door, we were welcomed and seated in a timely manner and felt very cared for from the service staff throughout the evening. The food was excellent all around- presentation, flavor and portion sizes. All ingredients were fresh and tasty! A great place to eat.
This place is reportedly the number one Asian restaurant in Cincinnati. From our experience, that is impossible to believe. The appetizer lettuce wraps looked as though someone had gotten scissors and cut a circle of lettuce out only one thin layer by the way and dumped pellet sized pieces of chicken on them without ingredients listed in the menu such as mushrooms. If there were any mushrooms they were indiscernible either by sight or by taste. The rice that came with the entree tasted as though it had been prepared several days ago. Has this establishment fallen on Hard Times? Presentation was quite lacking. Very disappointing.
This was my first visit here. The service was outstanding! We visited in a Saturday at 4:30 and it was quite relaxing time. Decor was nice, food delicious. I had their own version of general tso, called general Wong. Staff was helpful, friendly, our glasses never got lower than 1/2. Will return!
May wife and I had dinner here on Valentine's Day, on the recommendation of her brother. We had great service, delicious drinks and food, a delightful coconut bread pudding for dessert. Had a great, relaxed time. We'll add this place to our preferred list for eating out.
The staff is so friendly and welcoming. We went for our daughters birthday and my sister in law brought cupcakes to share. They held them in the back and roughy them out when we were finished with dinner. They sang Happy birthday to her and made her feel very special. We enjoy the excellent cuisine and hope to return very soon.
We had a party of eight in our very favorite semi private room which is perfect for that size!! The food is always wonderful and the ambience is very relaxing!!
We had told our server that we were on a schedule since we had a show to attend
after dinner, and he worked very hard to make sure we were served in a very timely
manner. Everyone enjoyed and look forward to returning!!
Not our first time. The service is excellent. The food is excellent. Appetizer of pot stickers delicious, entrees also. Surprising for a Chinese restaurant the deserts including red bean paste sesame balls and mango mousse were more than expected. We will be back.
Came here on a Saturday around Chinese New Year's looking for an authentic meal. There was a special menu available for the holiday. We ordered the special spicy dumplings and I had the kung pao chicken. The chicken was tender and sauce was good and spicy. Service was good. I would dine here again or get takeout when craving Chinese food.
Our group of six had several different owner suggested items - veggies, fish, chicken and pork. We shared some appetizers too. Food was uniformly delicious and so well-prepared. The service was fantastic - we were really taken care of. We made a reservation to go back in a few weeks, we liked it to much.
