Oriental Wok - Cincinnati
Perfect! We enjoyed an appetizer, soup and delicious dinner.
Everything was perfect as usual.
Always excellent food and service. Warm welcome!
Food was wonderful! Pleasure to meet the owners and welcome us to the Resturant for the first time. Food was delicious. Server wasn’t the best but the owners made up for that hands down.
Wonderful as always! Great food and a wonderful atmosphere.
Hi James, Thank you so much for dining with us. Your kind words made our day! We look foward to hosting you again. Sincerely, The Wong Family
Can’t understand how this has such high ratings. Dim sum was uncooked/uneatable and main courses were bland and swimming in sauce
Hi Scott, We are so sorry that your dining experience on was not up to par. I'll make sure we address these issues and correct them. Thank you for dining with us and letting us know about your experience. Sincerely, The Wong Family

We Love the Oriental Wok!!! No doubt the best service and food in town!!! We have dined on several occasions and we have always had a pleasant experience. The Wong family does it right. Thanks for making our Anniversary Special. See you soon.
Dear Mark, Wow, thanks so much for your kind words. We are honored to celebrate your anniversary, wishing you many more! Sincerely, The Wong Family
Good food but the "duck" wasn't served as we thought it would be.
Food is very very fresh and flavorful. This time I had seafood in a clay pot and it was just what I was in the mood for. The fish was plentiful and it paired well with the delicious chicken lettuce wraps we had for an appetizer. The owners make a point of coming by making sure your experience is fabulous. The servers are just as gracious. We will continue to frequent oriental wok!!
Every table that was seated was asked by the hostess or the waiter if they were celebrating anything. We were never asked and we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. I even entered that information on our open table reservation. I was disappointed as I wanted to surprise my husband.
Oriental Wok by far is our favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Normally we do carry out but we dined in this time due to some events in the area. The food once again was amazing, from appetizers through main course. Our service was really slow, we even had to ask for a server after sitting at the table for quite some time. We even decided to order meals with our drinks since it was taking so long. Drinks took a while to show up, then food came out pretty quickly. Our table also wasn't great, right next to the main lobby and a service door/area. Still love OW, but thinking carryout may be more of our plan in the future.
We all had a great time; 18 year old birthday boy enjoyed as well.
No beef. Server kept mentioning a sauce we clearly communicated we had no interest in. Disappointed. And this survey asks a separate question of "Would you recommend...to...?" If you answer no, then you get a list for "What would you recommend this restaurant for?" wtf?
We love going to Oriental Wok!
From the minute you walk in the door, you are treated like family.
The Wong family is wonderful and the food and service are top notch.
Lunch was great! I would highly recommend that everyone visit the Oriental wok for lunch or dinner..
Dear Julie, So glad you enjoyed your lunch. Can't wait to see you again soon we hope! Thanks for a great review! The Wong Family

We had never been here before and lived in Cincinnati forever! We mentioned this to the hostess and later we were greeted by someone else. She heard we had never been and made recommendations and provided daily specials. The environment is lovely, not a fast food Chinese place for sure! Our server was also very friendly and was receptive to our questions. Mai Tai was terrific!
I had an appetizer of a sort of pancake with eggplant; my sister had crab rangoon. I liked the eggplant with the pancake, the rest was ok.
For dinner, I had scallops with the same eggplant. My sister ordered one of the specials which was a braised chicken. Our server indicated it was the last order (although it was only 5:30 and we heard others afterwards being offered the dish). The chicken came out and was pretty non-descript. It tasted like chicken. Scallops were good but not exciting.
The bill was exciting though; with one Mai Thai, 2 Tsing Tao and dessert, the bill with tip was around $120. It was way too expensive for Chinese and wasn't that great.
I guess if I was wealthy, I would return, but I'm not.
Hi Lori, Thanks for visiting our restaurant! We appreciate your feedback. The Wong family
Food is always great at Oriental Wok and the servers are knowledgeable and helpful. This is one of our favorite places.
We can't wait to serve you again! Thanks so much! The Wong Family
The food was excellent. I had Sea bass and it was prepared beautifully. Appetizers were excellent. The service was attentive but not over done. Owners came to table to greet us and then later to check in. It was a fun and delicious evening
Thank you so much! We appreciate your feedback! The Wong Family
Always fabulous! Our dietary request for simple steamed sea bass with steamed vegetables and brown rice with the black bean garlic sauce on the side was accommodated with ease. It was absolutely delicious and one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The welcoming atmosphere at Oriental Wok, from the owner's friendliness and generosity to the attentiveness of the servers and wait staff always makes us feel at home. A lovely restaurant.
Thank you so much, we appreciate your feedback and hope to see you again soon. The Wong Family
Good food and friendly service. Excellent place for family & friends get together.
I was frankly scared to try a Chinese restaurant in Cincinnati after living here for a year. The food scene in the city gets a lot of buzz but truth be told it is abysmal. I expected highly Americanized Chinese and I was right however to my surprise it was good !! The owners/management were extremely friendly and courteous. While we waited for our table they kept stopping by to let us know the status which was appreciated. For drinks we got the lychee martinis ... I liked it but my mother found it too sweet. They were pre made. We got the shrimp toast for an appetizer which was delicious. Fired to perfection ... it came hot and crunchy. We also got the hot and sour soup that could have been hotter (temperature wise). We got the chengdu chicken which was good but missing the traditional fried red chillis which usually accompany the dish. The mala shrimp was a little disappointing along with the chopsuey that had little flavor and a pasty consistency. The green beans were delicious. For dessert we got the mousse which was ok. The chocolate was weak. There were out of vanilla ice cream which was an accompaniment to the coconut bread pudding so we passed on that. Overall a satisfying meal and we will be back.
Possibly the best Chinese in Cincinnati.
Thank you so much, we appreciate your feedback! Come back and see us again soon. The Wong Family
Ming is the best waiter. Hadn’t seen him in years and was happy to reconnect with him. The food was very flavorful.

Let me preface this by saying that the owners were highly in tune to us saying that we were gluten free and made sure everything was prepared with an eye to this. However, the food itself was mediocre at best. The owners were lovely people, the service was spot on, the ambiance was typical of many Asian restaurants with paper laterns and dragons. It was obvious the owners wanted the meal to be successful for us. The food on the other hand was just not good. We started with the dim sum with shrimp that is listed on their menu as GF. The shrimp inside was so fishy we were worried it was spoiled. My husband couldn’t eat them. The vegetable soup was flavorless and the egg drop soup was just ok. The Singapore noodles, which is listed as GF on their main menu, was mostly noodles with turmeric and cumin. The spices didn’t enhance anything and were not at all indicative of other Singapore noodles served in other restaurants. Hard to believe they were flavorless with turmeric and cumin but because the flavors didn’t mesh, the dish was just bleh. The steamed sea bass was made well but again no flavor. The vegetables that came with the fish were attractive in presentation but also tasted like, well, nothing. I don’t know how they took steamed vegetables and removed the vegetable taste. But there was no flavor. The fourth person in our party had GF fried rice made with GF soy sauce and theirs was the only dish that was considered similar to real fried rice. GF food doesn’t have to be flavorless and I appreciate any restaurant that is accommodating to gluten allergies but that doesn’t mean serving cardboard and calling it food. So I suggest that if you choose to try this restaurant if you are GF, don’t have high expectations. The regular dishes listed may be better but I am assuming the dishes listed on the menu as GF are served the same to both GF and nonGF diners. So the owners and service are both worth the visit. The food however isn’t.
Apologies for the late response. We'll make sure we put better efforts into making gluten free dishes more flavorful. So sorry we didn't meet your expectations but we appreciate your feedback. Thank you again. The Wong Family
Good Food, Good Service, Great place to eat fancy Chinese Dinner!
Outstanding food, service, and ambience. Menu with wonderful selections.
Dear Marshall, Thank you so much. Come back soon for more outstanding service! The Wong Family
As somebody who frequently dines out, I have to say how overwhelmingly impressed I am with Oriental Wok. My husband and daughter have adventurous palates and asian is their favorite. We have been here several times and will definitely be back. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and from start to finish it was a very pleasurable experience. The owner came over to the table and engaged in genuine conversation and we felt like old friends. The food was fantastic, the portion is generous, and the ambiance is cultural yet not overwhelming. The staff are all very knowledgeable about the food, and they are all very attentive but not in a distracting way. Again, it was truly a really good experience!
It was a delicious meal.
Thank you for the fresh, delicious food & lovely experience. Oriental Wok has restored my taste for Chinese food in Cincinnati (beside Sichuan Bistro but that ambiance/experience/food is apples to pineapples ~ both great, just different)
Staff was especially attentive- great service— food presentation outstanding
I had no idea what to expect. I heard Marilyn Harris (The Cooking with Marilyn radio show) talk about how good the pad Thai was there. I went with my daughter and we ordered the pad Thai and also some egg foo young (one of my favorite Chinese dishes). The pad Thai was very good but the egg foo young was fantastic! I have loved egg foo for 50 years and it is hard to find anymore - especially an outstanding version. It was so good I ordered a take home version for my husband who is also a fan. I can’t wait to go back and try other things on their menu - like the spicy grouper! The ambience brought me back also. My 29 year old daughter loved the vintage throw back feel. What a gem. Thank you Marilyn for your recommendation!
