Our specialities are Dim Sum and seafood, with a focus on Szechuan and Cantonese dishes, plus those from the northern regions of China.
Our aim is to delight and enthuse customers who want to experience delicious, authentic Chinese food that is honestly-priced.
We hope you'll find our service friendly and efficient, our ambiance relaxing and our refurbished premises with contemporary décor elegant and comfortable.
Proud to serve the Chinese and central London business communities, plus theatre-goers and tourists.
All our dishes (including all Dim Sum) are cooked fresh daily by our own chefs on the premises.
The food was of the highest quality and very tasty. We had the deep fried asparagus with chilli and the soft shell crabs for starters which were delicious. The crab soup with sweet corn and very good too. For the main dishes, we had sliced beef with black bean sauce, sliced chicken with ginger, fried shrimp with noodles and the emporer chicken. Everything was of the highest quality, all accompanied with some excellent red wine.
Great food, better quality than majority of the Chinese restaurants in the area. Service very attentive. Price is probably a bit higher than average restaurant in China Town but it's worth paying for the quality food they serve.
This is a brilliant place. I have used it several times for business meetings and it has been consistently excellent. Our last visit was early evening on a Friday and the food was outstanding. The service was "good", but there is room for improvement. Staff need to learn how to be ultra-polite to customers.
When we arrived it some considerable time for someone to come to the table ...
We then found out that the Dim Sum menu is only till 4pm! I booked this restaurant specifically for the Dim Sum!
It said nothing on the OpenTable website or the restaurant website that this was the case ...
We didn’t have time to find somewhere else so we stayed ..
The food was very good and although the restaurant was very busy, the service improved so it ended up a good evening.
I always enjoyed the food at Orient, but service was not always great. I book a dinner for three for last Friday at 7pm celebrating my birthday and I disappointing to not be allowed inside until my friends arrive, it was 7 pm and there were 7-8 min late.
We also didn't enjoy the service of the waiter and some of the food was too salty.
When the bill arrived , we didn't want to pay the service charge as we weren't happy with the service , but the waiter asking: Whyyy? But Whyyy? Why noooot? After I told him the reason , he was still asking in a insisting way :but whyyy? I end up paying the service charge but that's because of the waiter insisting attitude and that was not a nice way to make someone pay for the service charge.
Friendly restaurant with good quality food - set menu offered good choice
A fantastic meal, the food was delicious x
The food in general was good, prices a little high however this is what you expect from a London sit down.
It was a shame that there was no china spoons as in every other place.
Traditional Chinese restaurant. Very clean and comfortable. We had a balcony table near to a door used by staff but it wasn't a problem. We had fixed menu which included a very tasty crispy duck with pancakes. Wine list was reasonable
Overall bill for four people was very reasonable for central London . I would book again (mid week).
Mediocre bland food, could do so much better. On the plus side, service fine and the food was served promptly .
I love the bustling energy of this superb, authentic, dim sum restaurant. The choice and quality are excellent. It never fails to give me that warm contented feeling when I lunch here. And, my goodness, those waiters are busy! Perhaps even too busy sometimes - we had to wait in between times for a couple of items.
We were recommended to Orient for casual standard Chinese cuisine. It was just that. I would have rather tried a take away or more of a street food type place for less cost.
Food was amazing. Set menu C was great value for money in terms of auliry and quantity of food and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend this restaurant
Food and service were decent, but was extremely put off by one of the waitresses who was clearly sick and coughing constantly as she served patrons.
Food is fine, true South China Cantonese style. Quantities are important. Taste is very good.
Our favourite Chinese, food is always great .
Yummy Chinese, good service, thank you
Really great. Nice food and interior, good portions, decent prices, fast service.
Nice place to enjoy chinese food. Service was excellent.
Best soft shell Crab we ever had!
Nice quiet surroundings with attentive staff.
Excellent service by a very efficient and welcoming group of staff. Nothing was too much trouble and very sensible advice was offered regarding portions and selection of food.
Good food, good service and prices reasonable. Don’t assume set menus are good value.. price up items individually as you could get what you actually want cheaper.
Great food and amazing value!! There were three of us and we ordered the £21/head set menu each - too much food for three though, so I’d recommend only having two set menus and a couple of other sides instead.
The food was good and normally the service is fast. However, the mains came separately for us, there was a long delay for my friend’s mains. The service was friendly. Despite booking a table and ordering three course meal we were asked to leave due to other guests waiting which put a damper on the whole evening as my friend was still drinking the tea she had ordered with dessert.
Best Chinese we’ve had.. nothing compares now! It’s our monthly treat!
Food was good in general, crispy duck good, hot and sour soup very good, rest lacked a bit of individual taste. Service a bit pushy but attentive. Good for children and for people with first time chinese food experience.
This looks like a high end Chinese on Instagram. It’s just actually a nothing special standard Chinese really. Won’t be going back. Below average food at below average price. So at least it wasn’t a rip off. Staff are friendly and attentive but food is 5/10 bland. Sorry Orient London.
Food is excellent but service is rude! They want you in and out so fast.
Great set menu and the food was excellent. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and service was good
Lots of positives about Orient - ambiance, service, value for money, good choices, large portions. But food a little bland eg two different soups we thought a bit tasteless, could do with seasoning. Pity the plates were not warm and could not be kept warm.
The restaurant looks very nice and have very extensive choice of food. We really enjoyed the food. It was in the center of London which was also very convenient.
The only thing which we didn't like that much was the fact that we were charged for the tea and we weren't asked if we want a refill and staff wasn't really talkative so was sometimes difficult to agree on what we want to order. Overall experience though was very good and i would recommend the place to my friends.
We had seafood set menus. It was excellent and would definitely eat there again.
Was really happy and impressed
We enjoyed Orient London very much. Food was great and our service was excellent!
We visited on a Sunday evening, after the theatre and we wanted an experience of Chinatown. The service was outstanding and the food was extremely good and plentiful. We had Set Menu C which was lovely, hot and tasty. Ideal location just adjacent to one of the Chinese gates.
Food was good, service was amazing, price was okay
First visit & very pleased with the experience. The food was excellent but the service at the beginning was rather cold. It did warm up after the starters. Recommend the duck but the pancakes were slightly under cooked. Overall would like to go again to complete the opinion.
Fabulous venue with first class service and huge portions at a very reasonable price.
