The sun shade was not effective and the sun was in our eyes (who were facing the street), so we left a little sooner than planned.
Everything else was very good.
I like the authenticity of this restaurant...the noise level is a bit much and the chairs are hard.
My previous visit, I was not pleased. The food is just OK. The steak was tough and sinewy. Gross neglect in the kitchen. The quality of the food is lacking. THIS visit, I chose what I know to be decent. The cost is still excessive. I may not go back for another six months. BUT, the service was good and Katerina excelled as our waitress.
Service was excellent! Lamb shank was gamey and flat bread we had very little taste and the crust was dry.
Really wanted to like the place but not worth it at the end of the day, to many other options.
Orexi is one of my favorite places in the city. It never disappoints. Great food, fairly priced; attentive staff; good Greek (and California) wines at fair prices, and a comfortable neighborhood ambiance. What's not to like?
Food as previously excellent. Well prepared, tasty and wonderfully presented. Great and good value neighborhood restaurant.
Orexi is amazing! Highly recommended. The food and wine are excellent. The hosts make you feel special.
Made a reservation to order lamb chops that would not empty my wallet like Kokkari. My barber recommended the place and the chops were pretty good. Interior was pretty drab, but the large neighborhood crowd helped make up for it.
Good food. Unfortunately, the server or chef forgot about my side order with my meal.
Always excellent. We love it @ OREXI.
The yogurt is to die for.
Amazing Greek food. My fav in the city now
great food always and friendly staff.
Ask for a table away from the door if is on the cold side.
Never been disappointed with my dishes.
Met friends for dinner at this West Portal staple. Always delicious. Keep coming back.
Not up to it's usual excellent fare. The saganaki, spanakopitia, Greek salad and avgolemono soup were very good, although the soup was not hot enough. Things went majorly downhill once the entrees were served. All three of us had the moussaka as we had all ordered it previously and enjoyed it. This time when it was served, the top of the bechamel was black and tasted burnt. Further, the lamb mixture inside was very dry and had trace amounts eggplant and potato. As I dug to the bottom of the dish I could see that there was an unappetizing burned crust. I have had this dish here many times and have never had this experience. None of us finished our entree and when I mentioned the dryness to our waiter he said he would alert the kitchen. We weren't offered any type of compensation for this disaster, and I even wonder if the waiter even told the kitchen about this problem. That is why I am writing this review. I think you could have done better.
Everything was great. Only issue is noise level when the place is full. We sat at the door, which is not a nice location but it was the quietest. Great food, expertly prepared and served. Thank you!
Had the lamb shank which was tender but flavorless. Was supposed to be in a red wine sauce but I was at a loss to find. At $30 I found it very over priced.
We were greeted and taken care of by everyone during our stay beginning when we entered the door until we departed. The meal was excellent and the servings were generous. The atmosphere was relaxing and we had a long easy conversation with little noise on a Thursday evening. My friend had never been to the restaurant and was very complementary of the entire experience and said it was a special evening.
Orexi is one of those neighborhood gems in San Francisco. Food is always high quality and consistent every time we go there. The sea food is always fresh and very tasty. I always look forward to a good time and delicious food when I book the place. Also if I have friends from out of town I try to recommend.
First but not last time dining at Orexi’s. Terrific Meals. Lamb shank and lamb chops were especially good. Katrina was an excellent server. Meets the definition of a wonderful neighborhood restaurant.
My wife and I went to Orexi to celebrate our anniversary. This was our first visit to Orexi & it was beyond our expectations. The food & service was outstanding. We will definitely return & enjoy their Greek cuisine.
Orexi was fantastic! Definitely coming here again!
Food was great - very fresh. Wait staff very attentive. Make sure you have reservations.
Food, atmosphere, service outstanding!
There is nothing more to say
We had a lovely meal - great ambience tasty food outstanding service - highly recommend
Birthday. Wonderful as usual.
My salmon was delicious, but it was not hot. Best baklava ever!!
First time after recommendation from a stranger - loved it! Will definitely go back and try more. The tzatziki is one of the best I've ever eaten. Great service!
Second time we have been to Orexi and it just gets better and better. Food is incredible. Ambiance is fantastic. Our server was amazing. She was so knowledgeable and friendly. Absolutely made the evening!
This place is in our neighborhood and I can honestly say we do not come here often enough. Great Greek staples are always available and the specials are very worthy. This time was marred by a loud obnoxious idiot from some local church group, but even he could not ruin the food and service.
No glutenfree options that are vegetarian from the main course (only appetizers/side dishes)
Consistently good, a little pricey but it’s worth it for the quality of the food!
Very enjoyable, great service.
Food was amazing!
Orexi never ever disappoints! Delish food. Perfect portion size. Spectacular service.
Three of us shared the delicious Greek salad, the lamb chops, and the lamb shank. Add a bottle of great Greek red wine and we were over the moon. Get the phyllo "cigars" for dessert.
Food was good but a server was not friendly, no smile.
The staff was friendly and welcoming. It turned out the one of the servers was from my mother's home town making more enjoyable for my 87 year old mother. The food was tasty, well presented and generous food size.
Halibut, fried cheese, greek fries, braised greens, 2 deserts, one glass red wine and one mineral water cost over $100 with tip. The fries and greens did not taste fresh, and my friend ate only half of the fish. The desserts were the best of the meal: yogurt with honey was excellent, but cheesecake was rather ordinary. I have eaten at Orexi a few times before, and enjoy the atmosphere. However, based on this meal, I likely will not return.
Really Good food, desserts we’re awesome about environmental great
