Oregon Electric Station
Today, this same building has been restored as the new Oregon Electric Station Restaurant and it remains as busy today as it was when the station was built. Over the last 100 years the building has been listed on the National Historic Register, and has become a landmark of social significance that has a union of historic value and incredible dining experiences.
Our menus are globally inspired and artistically crafted, striving to use sustainable and locally sourced ingredients. Representing the rich history of Eugene as well as its surrounding fertile lands, Oregon Electric Station is committed and dedicated to the quality of their product, ambience, and hospitality.
We were earlier than our reservation not knowing how long the drive from Bandon Dunes might be. The manager kindly accommodated our party of 6. Everything was delightful.
We went for a Mother’s Day dinner after the UofO baseball game. Excited to relax and cool off with family. We were seated in the very back of the restaurant by the window away from any body even though it was mostly empty at the time (maybe our Duck gear was inappropriate?) where it was VERY warm the waitress did her best to set the temp at a lower level but it was still warm and VERY DARK since they pulled the blinds. Unfortunately we ere also visited by ants that were coming through a crack in the door that we were directly seated by.
The food was mediocre! We ordered a prime rib which was very good and a pasta dish that was good as well. But the seafood bouillabaisse was terrible. The fish did not taste fresh at all and there was hardly any broth which was unusual. Also the burgers were just plain. I could order it at Carl’s Jr. The lamb for the price did not meet our expectations either.
Luckily the waitresses were kind and none of the above could be blamed on them. Unfortunately we won’t be going back! We thought it was expensive for the quality of food!
We were there for Mother’s Day for a 1:00 pm reservation. Agee of the buffet stations needed refreshing and they were out of the Strawberry Danish ☹️. Although the shrimp was good, it should have been peeled to near the tail. Otherwise, the food and service were great! Thank you.
Extremely attentive service! Quiet and easy to visit without distracting noises nearby.
The food was mostly fair. Potatoes were cold and the toast for the smoked salmon was so dry that it crumbled on first bite sending cream cheese everywhere. A single mimosa or glass of champagne was offered to mothers (it was “Mother’s Day “). The brunch was so expensive, they certainly could have offered one with each paid meal. The price was ridiculous for brunch. My fault for not asking in advance. Never thought a restaurant would be that audacious to charge that amount of money. But, I wouldn’t complain out loud if it had been just good enough. We’ve tried this restaurant for the second and last time.
A very cool place to eat but pretty high price compared to what you get.
Great service. Love the low noise level so you can actually have a dinner conversation. Food delicious except the fish was too thick and underdone. Flavor was wonderful though. We were seated in one of the train cars which were very comfortable. It was my birthday and they even gave me a card with employees’ signatures. Nice touch! Highly recommend it.
We love the Electric Station for special events. The unique atmosphere of the old train cars conveys a nostalgic sense and a little romance too. Lighting is soft but substantial and the chairs are comfortable if you're like us tending to stay and enjoy food, wine and talking. Any time we've eaten at OES, the service is very fine; no one says "You got it" or "Are you still working on that".
The menu is a little pricey but all dishes show expert preparation and ingredients.
The wine and beer lists show attention to local breweries and wineries but the extensive wine list must also be the best in Eugene.
Music outside was awful. Chicken was barely dead- undercooked . Grimm meal.
Nice setting. Fun decor with the rail cars. Seems a little overpriced for the food quality. They seem to rely a little too much on the unique setting.
The ambiance and food was amazing. Our server Ashley was impeccable.
We were celebrating our marathon finish. Food was great and the service was too!!!! Would definitely eat here again.
Another fine evening at the OES with great food , wine and service. We ordered lobster bisque, prawns, and gnocchi and all were very tasty. Chardonnay wine was the selection for our dinner.
Charming atmosphere, excellent food, attentive wait staff. We had early (5:45) reservations on a Saturday evening and were amazed at how fast the food came to our table. Will certainly eat here again.
The food was excellent, and there was hardly any noise. They had a very nice setting and great service. The prices are higher but they reflect the quality and service of this restaurant. I will definitely be returning.
All around lovely
Great pork chop and veggies and great server
Not sure why, but service was lacking. Prior experiences were great. Hoping it was just an off night. We waited 15 minutes after we were seated to see a server. After dinner we went to the bar area and we're ignored. Finally got up and left.
I love this place, but I'll need to convince my wife to return. She was not happy!
Best cioppino ever!
Food was excellent. Service was okay. Setting was nice.
Easter! The service was very good! The food was excellent! It even came to us hot! The only thing that was a little lacking was we had a drink that had zero alcohol in it even though it was a special drink That was supposed to have alcohol in it..everything was delicious. The prices are a bit high but it’s excellent fresh food. I’d go again! We had a booth in one of the train cars which was a request I had made and they accommodated us !! Wonderful experience and I’d def return!
The Easter Sunday brunch was excellent! For the price and special occasion (Easter), complimentary mimosa was not offered as was previously with the former management. Also, our waiter did not return to ask us for a second drink order.
Very nice service and ambiance. The food (brunch) was fair to good but the price ($50 per person) was excessive for the value.
My family went for Easter brunch and it was delicious. The setting and service were also wonderful!
This is the second time that we had dinner here. Both times the service was subpar. We waited for drinks and refills for longer than we should have and our waiter was unapologetic. Other tables were offered bread service and we were not. I have eaten at many upscale restaurants much like the Electric Station and had much better service.
As much as we love the ambiance and the service was great, the food was meh.
Family came from out of town-
We’ve been disappointed the last 2 times we’ve eaten here. Our friends order was wrong, had to wait for them to correct it to then get an undercooked steak that he had to send back again. They were very nice about the correction.
The bread tested like it had been in the freezer and the focaccia has soooo many crunchy mill type stuff on it that it was very messy and tasted blah.
It was very slow for a Saturday night which felt odd. Overall it was not worth the money.
This is one of the premiere restaurants to dine at in Eugene. Atmosphere is wonderful, seating is unique and comfortable, food is excellent
Atmosphere A+, asked for a quiet space on a Friday evening and they delivered. A little let down by the amount of ravioli they served for the price and the chicken fettuccine Alfredo had a different taste (wouldn't order either again). Will return.
Super food, and terrific service. Bottle wine list is good, but pricey. Service is the best in town.
It was a pleasant dining experience, the staff was very friendly and accommodating
OES was recommended to us. This is a very nice fine dining establishment. Our table was in one of the train car booths and the noise level was higher than the open dining space. We had prime rib and the house burger. Ample servings that we could not finish, but delicious. Creme brulee finished off our meal. Service was attentive and not intrusive. For a special dinner out, I recommend OES.
One of my personal favorite places to eat. The best.
Had the Calamari, Iron Horse Burger, and Porter steak. All our food was excellent, the waitresses passing our table were all attentive and friendly. The tomato/basil enriched olive oil for the bread was surprisingly delicious and in the same mouthful as the porter was to die for. Excellent meal!
Small portions and little food selection . This resteraunt menu does not match ambiance
Meet quality was not so good. And also service is too quit.
This is one of my favorite places when we come to Eugene. The atmosphere is so cool, the service is exceptional and the food delicious. Best yet, you get all of this for an outstanding value.
Good food. Good service and overall good experience at the Oregon Electric Sation.
Environment was fantastic as usual. Food was very good, but unexceptional for the price point.
Great place to celebrate my grandson’s admission to the business school at U of O! Go ducks!
