Exceptional restaurant. The staff, the menu, the chefs... this is now our third time.
Check them for Easter brunch!!
Another very good visit to Orchids for our one year anniversary. The food and service were both excellent, just like our other experiences here, and they made a point to repeatedly wish us a happy anniversary even writing out congratulatory messages in chocolate on our dessert plates. We will certainly make trips back in the future.
Simply amazing, the best birthday dining experience I have ever had!!! Loved every second!
Everything was wonderful but had to wait an hour for the entre
As always, Orchids at Palm Court was a complete joy! The creative selections with awesome flavors and taste, combined with great, friendly service and amazing architecture made our meals just perfect - just what we were looking for! The 8 course tasting menu is a fantastic culinary journey with surprises and delights at every turn. The wine parings are excellent and really complete each course. They have a very nice selection of wine and creative cocktails, as well.
It is a quiet place with occasional music from a live band at the far other end of the amazing French Art Deco space, so there is a light liveliness to the restaurant. A white table cloth experience, complete with Netherland Plaza custom dinnerware, quality glassware and cutlery but still retaining a relaxed atmosphere. This is our second of what is now an annual trip from Chicago to Cincinnati for a 4-day weekend, staying at the hotel and taking all our meals all at the hotel!! This is a fabulous combination! The lunch menu is wonderful as well, with a fabulous French Onion soup!! And they have a very nice breakfast buffet and menu items, as well! Quality food all around!
We have a fantastic time with the Orchids entire staff, the creative and amazing food - the desserts are also astonishing!! - and then take the elevator home! Or head out on the town for a great night out!! The hotel is a great place to explore - very high design Art Deco everywhere and it is totally amazing to see so much in one place!!! What a great weekend event!! We want to add a huge THANK YOU to Orchids, in addition to the many we said at our dinners!
Just wonderful. Food delicious. Beautiful restaurant.
food was good not great. service and ambience was spectacular. Our sever Ken and the back servers were amazing.
The Orchid was a perfect spot to celebrate my husbands birthday. They went above and beyond to make it special, we will definitely be back for future celebrations!
We had an amazing time! Our meal was delicious. The cocktails were great and we were also given a few special treats courtesy of the chef. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. The whole staff made the experience a memorable 1 year anniversary. Loved it!
Amazing every time we dine there. Thanks to Joel for taking excellent care of us and recommending a fabulous Riesling.
Staff was spot on, Morgan and Robert our wait staff were excellent. It was our anniversary weekend and the Orchids at Palm Court was the highlight. Was impressed with the little extra touches that the staff provided us. Would travel the 200 miles again just to eat. Thanks to everyone!!
It’s sad, such a magnificent room and hard working waitstaff but the new “Chef” seems to be just a cook. Butternut Squash Isoup was tasteless and the shrimp grennelles were under cooked and added nothing positive.
The blue cheese Beinets also had no flavor, although the rest of the salad was nice and bright. The Halibut and chanterelles were properly cooked but w/ only the singular flavor of tarragon. The strawberry and pistachio custard was also bland w/ indiscernible taste. Highlights were the mission fig amuse busche and the mini deserts. The plates all looked beautiful they merely lacked any taste. I was hoping for a more sophisticated experience but was met with a rather purist approach. I hope he gets things sorted out as I always loved going there. But certainly won’t be making an effort anytime soon.
This restaurant has a level of service that is far above any restaurant in the city and ranks up there with the best anywhere. Food is outstanding as well
He service was Amazing!
One of the last great restaurants in the city. The large, opulent art deco space is gorgeous, and quiet enough for intimate conversation. The service and atmosphere harken back to the old days of gracious dining. The menu features classic food with contemporary updates. Every dish we had was superb. We happened to reserve on a night when there was a 3-course tasting menu available for the amazing price of $45. Since the portions were smaller, we ordered more courses than normal. The sweetbread preparation was the best I have ever had - the acidity of the pickled beet puree was beautiful against the sweetbreads. Wine list is excellent. The service makes you feel that you the only people in the restaurant (which we were not). Everything about this restaurant is perfection. We will be back.
I can describe our visit in one word... OUTSTANDING!
It was way too cold - very uncomfortable for all 4 of us If you need the temp so cold at least have wraps to hand out and notify diners when reservation is made. The halibut was over cooked, lamb fair prices high. With bar music and singer it was too loud for nice conversation. Very disappointing for a special birthday. Dessert was good however
Besides everything being good, we were well cared for and everyone was happy to help when we needed something ( a lovely 96 yo gentleman in a wheel chair ) We loved the "surprises" especially the little granola bar at the end, yum the next day ! We enjoyed the music, Pamela and Wayne, overall a night of class and enjoyment. Excellent and elegant service! Food with flavor!
Always a delight.
You deserve your uniquely great reputation!
This is not just a meal but a whole dinning experience! From the stunning decor, the excellent service and the delicious food. The staff makes you feel like royalty. They also have the best brunch in Cincinnati. The price is high, but worth every dollar.
A true dining experience. Food is unique, sophisticated and delicious. Service is great, attentive but not lurking over you and it is great fun as they describe your food choices. It is expensive but the value is really good given the excellent food, service and ambiance. A wonderful place to celebrate special occasions. I highly recommend it and will continue to enjoy this gift in our city.
Great dining, smal and varied menu of really fine food, not a steak house, but a fine dining spot. Impeccable service by a quite personable server, from start to finish. Salmon Tartare appetizer, two parts, smoked and natural, with the smoked being absolutely tasty. Dick breast, w potato and cabbage, used a very nice creamy horseradish sauce as taste treat addition. My darlings Halibut was good, maybe just a bit overdone. Two dessert, chocolate based and cheescake, also as good as any we have enjoyed anywhere. Wine list small, but very good selections ( and easier to make decision, than the 'telephone book' lists at some spots ). Server worked with us on pace, we shared dining over about 2.5 hours. Bon Appetite !
Excellent food and a creative menu, very good service. It lived up to its reputation. Was it completely worth the high expense compared to more affordable places?- I'm not positive. I will eat here again and am already looking forward to it; but it wont be for a while.
We came to the restaurant for the first time to celebrate our anniversary, and we were very pleased and satisfied with everything. Beautiful atmosphere, extremely professional and friendly staff, exceptional service, and an incredible variety of top-drawer fare, all supported by pleasant, jazz-oriented music, combined to highlight the restaurant's art-deco theme. Thank you very much for a truly world-class experience.

Great food, fantastic service and beautiful location. Attention to detail was outstanding. We where there with a mid-sized group (8) to celebrate a couple of birthdays. Pace of service was just right...never felt rushed and wait staff was very attentive. Great place for a special occasion or if you are just in the mood for a fantastic dining experience. Thank you!
Have dined there many times, always been outstanding. On this occasion, disappointing.
Excellent service and nice ambiance. We chose the tasting menu and it was a fun experience. The level of quality of the courses varied a little bit but overall it was good. Not a five star but a four.
Time to luxuriate in grand, art deco style, and enjoy some of the most exquisite food served in the region. Get a reservation for an evening when the adjacent bar area has live jazz music on stage. They're very good performers, and the sound is loud enough to hear comfortably in the spacious room without thwarting easy conversation at the table.
Every visit is made special thanks to the impeccable service presented by every one of the team members. Just the right amount of conversation and attentiveness. Oh, yes...and the food. Top notch.
Excelente service 5 star restaurant, very happy with the experience
Orchids is a place that always surprises in a good way. One already knows that the experience will be fantastic. The menu can do little to educate the diner on the level and quality of food that is about to come their way.
Service is about as close to perfect as it gets. Very attentive, but not smothering.
Wine List rocks and the overall attention to detail is amazing.
It was great, Ken and everyone did an excellent job
We went for our anniversary! Food, service and atmosphere were fabulous! It was expensive but you get what you pay for! Morgan our bartender and waitress were great!
Great service and ambiance. Food is very good, but servings are very small, especially for the price.
Excellent menu, presentation, service, but a bit pretentious overall. Given the cuisine, prices were a bit elevated. Wine list is dominated by France as you would expect - but fuller coverage of terroir and grapes other than just Burgundy and Bordeaux offered diversity. The dining experience was right-on for our 50th wedding anniversary.
This is my wife and I's favorite place to go for a special occasion. Beautiful art deco scene and wonderful ambience. The staff are all attentive but not lingering and their service is fantastic. Live piano music plays in the background near the bar and it is also great. We have been here 3 times and are never disappointed. The dishes are seasonal with a few staple items (steak etc.) so we always get something different. I had the lamb this time around and it was fantastic! My wife had the scallops and they were also delicious! Love this place. Go here.
Took my wife to Orchids for our anniversary. The service and food are five star. Perfect place for a special occasion.
Orchids is our favorite restaurant for special occasions. We always dine there on our anniversary because we met 23 years ago in the Palm Court Bar.
We have been celebrating our anniversary for about 40 years dating back to when the hotel/restaurant was fully renovated. Based on observing a number of customers asking their waiter to take their picture you can judge this is a special occasion venue. The quality and preparation justify its reputation and awards. My wife had a superb Vichyssoise, The sweetbreads which are increasingly hard to find, according to her were outstanding (did not offer me a taste, they were that good). The halibut was a well-prepared firm fish served in a delicate delicious sauce. We shared a creme brulee which was the only item not exceptional. It made for another memorable evening.
An extraordinary dining experience at an extraordinary, elegant restaurant!
