Orchids at Palm Court Ratings and Reviews
The food was wonderful and the service was wonderful but after many visits, I prefer ala carte to preset choices. I normally do not order dessert but now am required to instead of choosing my own choices on the menu. I could not recommend to others that do not eat sweets to pay that much and not eat the third choice which is dessert and is required that you pay for whether you want it or not. Would rather have an appetizer and salad instead.
I had a great birthday celebration with my husband & friends. Robert & the entire wait staff took excellent care of us. The chef never made me feel left out due to my gluten & dairy allergies, he accommodated me with ease. We loved the entire night & will definitely come back !!!!
For our 25th Wedding Anniversary I decided to take my wife down for the special evening, it did not disappoint. I heard from my parents that this was a special location and I’m sorry I took this long to experience the wonderful atmosphere and dining. We have decided that we will make this an annual event from now on.
This was the most amazing dinning experience I’ve ever had. It is hard to really put into to words how magical the experience was.
From the start of meal and the first bite of a dinner roll I knew I was in for something special. Each dish continued to surpass the previous. The wine pairings elevated already amazing dishes and brought them to new heights.
The restaurant’s ambiance and decor made you feel expensive and fancy. It’s not very often that people dress up for anything, so it was exciting to have a excuse to do so.
This experience was outstanding and worth every penny. My boyfriend and I will be talking about this for a very long time.
An overall memorable experience. The dining room is beautiful, the food was superb, and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. Loved the price fixe menu with options for 3, 4 or 5 course meals. Wait service was a bit slow...our waiter seemed to have a lot of tables at one time. Very good beverage choices, with a variety of wines and cocktails. Would highly recommend for a special event or a special treat.
I felt transported back in time at Orchids. The Art Deco décor is stunning, providing an ambience from bygone days. From the fabulous Rosemary Clooney cocktail to the silver tray of post-dessert sweets, dining at Orchids is a memory I will keep. I felt could have been in a fine dining establishment in the 1930s or in any city in the world today. The couple next to me conversed in French. The Middle Eastern couple across from me were enjoying each others' company, as well as the food and wine.
The staff were attentive to every need, yet cordial and friendly. There was no rushing through a course; each was meant to be savored to the fullest, including the "special gifts" from the chef. Just an overall memorable meal in every way, including the show-stopping Meyer lemon dessert (pictured).
We had the Chateaubriand for two. It was superb, as usual. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender and prepared perfectly. Wine suggestions were spot on. We've been coming to Orchids since the early 1980's and have never been disappointed with our dining experience. Former Exec Chef left last summer, however, the kitchen hasn't seemed to skip a beat. Our only suggestion, and it's a minuscule one, is they should go back to french press coffee that had a richer flavor.
We love dining at the Orchids at Palm Court in the Netherland Plaza. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff is always friendly, welcoming and never pretentious. I think the new chef has decreased the portion sizes a little but they are fine and so beautifully presented. Desserts are especially delicious and beautiful. We will always come back when we travel to Cincinnati ( if we can get a reservation).
Dined at Orchids Friday night for my husband's birthday. As usual, they outdid themselves. The service and food were top notch, with the new fall menu firing on all cylinders. The oxtail raviolo is by far one of the best dishes I've ever had anywhere. The shrimp and duck, for a first and main course, were also outstanding. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the unique preparation of the foie. And the wine list continues to deliver!
A Dining experience..not just a meal..a perfect evening. From the moment we arrived the service and food were impeccable. Tryed to pick out a favorite from all our courses..and just couldn't! A very talented group in the kitchen and the service second to none! THANK YOU
We dined at Orchid's with another couple on a Saturday evening. Orchid's has always been one of my favorite restaurants, but we had not been there for awhile, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I need not have worried. From the time that we entered the restaurant, we were treated to exceptional service. We all agreed that our waiter, Michael, was outstanding. He was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable. His suggestions for both food and wine were excellent. Even the ladies and gentlemen who made sure that our water glasses remained filled were attentive and professional. In addition to the superlative food, wine, and service, the restaurant is in a spectacular French Art Deco setting from the 1930s. I never stopped enjoying the setting. Orchid's remains my favorite restaurant ever.
