The salad bar was never stocked. It took 30 minutes to get it restocked. So basically it was a waste by the time the food came.
food was good, but it was so noisy, I think it was because it was prom night. A very large party of kids took over a section of restaurant, and was very loud. We finally stopped talking, we were losing our voices.
Restaurant was not busy when we arrived, front desk stated it would be 30 minutes before we would be seated at our set reservation time and could wait in the lounge. While waiting a hostess approached us to see if we would like to be seated due to the fact there where many tables open. Our waitress introduced her self that she would be serving our table, she took our drink order, and also took our food order. Food arrived by another server, my wife’s mashed potatoes where Luke warm and my med rare steak was well done. After waiting a few minutes we decided to eat our food hoping our server would stop by so we could let her know our food was not as ordered. I understand it gets busy, never asked if we needed refills for our drinks. The table was keep clean from finished dished by bus boy, as we finished our food someone asked if we needed a box for our spare food. The box was brought to us with the bill for dinner, that’s when our waitress brought a dish of ice cream with a candle for our anniversary and took our bill to be paid. Service lacking, food cooked not to order. Usually a very nice experience and a great restaurant to eat at.
Regretted going here for my birthday. We came late, around 8:15. Service was extremely slow you can tell she did not care to serve us. She was nice and charming, but it came off as a sort of fake charming for she was not concerned about serving us in a timely manner. There was no one else in the restaurant by the time we got our food. Which was an hour later. The entire dining experience should be no more than an hour. We ate in 15 minutes for we all just wanted to go home, including a very impatient two year old. We would ask for something and she would be back for it 7-8 minutes later, with us wondering why it was taking so long because we were the only ones in the restaurant. Waitress said she would get me a birthday sundae at the end of the dinner so we waited a little but we never got it. Was planning on getting dessert but the whole experience was ruined and we just wanted to go.My mistake for reserving this place, made my birthday dinner not pleasureable.
Made a reservation, but wasn’t seated until 30 minutes after the reservation.
Food was generally awful.
View was nice
Service was slow. Took almost 20 minutes before a server acknowledged us after being seated. She seemed overwhelmed. Egg's benedict was cold.
A family favorite! We come here often, for special occasions or just for fun and are NEVER disappointed!
Food was good as usual. Service was slower than usual and lacking.
This is our “go to”place for special occasions. The food is very good, and the service is prompt without being rushed. The view cannot be beat also.
Great food. awesome ambiance overlooking Orange County. Service was excellent
Seafood platter shrimp & scallops were the best I ever had! Service is always great!
Surf & turf as well as the swordfish was tasty. I would have preferred the medium filet to be a thicker cut & not butterflied. It was too cold when we first arrived but the a/c was turned down for us upon request.
Food is always excellent....and every entree comes with the all-you-can-eat soup & salad bar stocked with tons of options. 5 people, all with steak entrees with sides & at least 2 drinks pp, was under $300.
The rib eye was amazing. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The salad bar was incredibly fresh. We loved the frozen tin plates for the salad - great touch.
Diner her for a family birthday with a small party—what a delightful dining experience! Superb soup + salad bar and fantastic entree. 10/10 highly r commend!
We were there for a birthday which was noted on the reservation but never mentioned. Server was nice but all over the place and didn’t get two of our orders right. Lighting went out halfway through meal - strange.
Server unwilling to research substitutions
Food was very poor and cold. Too expensive for what it was. Food trays empty.
Our family of 8 enjoyed their Easter brunch. The selections were many, trays were refilled often and the drinks kept flowing.
Went on Easter Sunday for brunch buffet. Had to wait at least 20 minutes after our 1:00PM reservation for our table which had an excellent view at the window. Food was good with a decent variety, but I don’t think worth the price. Although I probably would not go back again for Sunday brunch, I might try it for a regular dinner.
The Restaurant is Outstanding, great Food and Service , but $42.00 per person for Easter Brunch is expensive. It's nobody fault. except my own I knew going in it was $42.00 a person. There was a big selection of food to choose from. Also $5.00 Valet Parking Fee
Pretty view, good amount of options for a brunch and generous with the champagne.
Although we enjoy the restaurant for dinner, we all agreed that we would not go back again for brunch. Was not impressed with food or options.
Easter brunch was pretty good. Valet service was quick. We were sat immediately, with Open Table reservation. We had a window seat which had a great view! Food was all pretty good. Some things were overcooked (salmon in changing dish for way too long. It was salmon jerky.) some things in chafing dishes were cold. Deserts were beautiful and amazing. Shrimp and crab legs were great! Soups were delicious. Champagne and coffee service was right on time. The price for quality of food was eeeeh... our bill for 4 - two kids and two adults was $154. My 14 year old son that only had half a plate of food, carbs n meat only and 2 desserts was charged adult price which stinks because he didn’t eat anything. Kids are still picky up until late teen ages, so I always feel like young teens paying adult prices is a little ridiculous. I’d go back again, but not in a holiday. Not sure it’s worth holiday prices.
very good for special family get together. We had a window seat but in a corner so the view for two people was obscured.
We liked it though and all were happy with their portions and meal.
It was a busy Friday night but service was a little slow to place an order. Then when I ordered my steak medium it was medium well I was disappointed with the cook and flavor. The cocktails were good. The salad bar and soup were delicious and of course the ambiance was fantastic.
The scallops entree was very disappointing! The virtually tasteless sea scallops in a floury tasting butter garlic like sauce was devoid of flavor and the accompanying rice was rice a Roni in quality! A chocolate chip cookie crust dessert with ice cream was good but like everything else extremely over priced for the quality of the product!
A lot better than Orange Hill or Summit House. It hard to beat good food, reasonable and good service.
Enjoyed the view. Nice service, good food but just a little pricey. Liked the complimentary bread and they had self serve water refills which was pretty convenient.
Service was great, prime rib was delicious and the soup and salad bar had so much to choose from. Definitely will be coming back.
We were seated 15 minutes before our reservation time. The food was delicious and the view was beautiful.
This is one of the best values for a special occasion night out. You can’t beat the view, we could see buildings in L.A. The menu has a good selection, but it doesn’t really matter what you order, because you are full after the fabulous salad & soup bar. This has become a rarity in OC, and OCMC continues their wonderful selections. We commented during our meal that this is a restaurant that has never decreased their quality. It is one of my favorite places for date night.
Excellent all around. We had indicated a preference for a window seat, but didn't get it even though there were available window seats. But still nice views from the booth just above.
Orange County Mining Co. needs some updating The carpet is very old and dirty. The attitude of the food server needs training. The presentation of the food on plate needs improvement. The food was very good with large portions.
Too dark inside. Put us in a tight booth, but moved to table near window when we asked. I got the baby back ribs and was not impressed; overcooked , (almost burned flavor on outside.) Asked for butter for mashed potatoes and received one pat for our whole table ( we all got mashed) Cheesy bread was tasty but half of the pieces in basket had the cheese off because it was stuck to the napkin. Salad bar was good, clam chowder soup was watery.
The sunset view is spectacular! The cocktails were delicious and we are not drinkers. Salad & Soup bar has a lot of options to choose from. The main course menu doesn't have a lot to choose from but what they do have they do great. They could have some veggies as a side instead of just garlic mash potatoes or rice.
The food was just ok. Our glassware and utensils were dirty. The place is overpriced for the quality. Its just dirty and needs a real good cleaning from top to bottom. Our hostess was a ditz with wrong assumptions which is annoying. I wouldn't have mind paying for valet if the food was at least good enough. Nothing extra was done for our birthday girls either. Not even a Happy Birthday!
First time here...amazing view, amazing customer service, good food...i got the sword fish and I was very pleased.. My date got a steak and I gotta say..that steak was fucke n bomb!!!
It was very very good. Awesome food and view.
Blackened Salmon was to die for...not over or undercooked...soft , moist with pink texture. Just about best I EVER had..Ditto for the Mr. of our out of state couple we’re we’re out with. Ladies had the Shrimp&Scallops dish.
